Hey David :) great seeing you here my friend, hope you are doin well :) , this book is really a must for any Elvis vinyl collector, i found it so fascinating , if not this book i would never knew about those releases from those 6 countries, very rare stuff, so glad i got the book when it came out, and to think there will be VOL. 2 , ohh wow ! great ;) thank you for this video my dear friend, cheers, Lior
Hi, Lior. I hope you're doing well. I too had no idea most of these releases existed. I think Volume 2 will include singles. Talk to you later. Cheers.
There's a ton of info about those releases that will probably never be known - the people behind them, how well they sold, and so on. But they left a load of fascinating records to look out for. Thanks for watching.
Thanks David, i have this absolutely stunning book and i love it! Another high praise is the 596 page book "Elvis German EPs Record Guide" ALL of the RCA german Variations (plus listening notes) and the super rare 45rpm/33rpm US-Army Elvis RCA Vinyls...incredible!👌
Hi David this looks like a fantastic book I love books that detail Elvis' music and releases so much better than a book on the Elvis story ( born poor in Tupelo, moved to Memphis, became famous, joined the Army, made some movies, wore some Jumpsuits, became fat and died ) .These books are fascinating and as you say are great to look at time and time again, thanks for the video.
I'm with you on that. I read lots of biographies when I was young. I have the two Guralnick books and the Memphis Mafia book. That'll do for me. I've got a couple of nice looking movie books coming tomorrow. Thanks for watching.
Must have been one hell of a job to put together a book like that! 😬 Very good looking book and the picture quality looked spot on. 😎👌 Gettin' colder, Jarkko/MyVinylBar
Editing the book and finding the releases both involved a lot of work, I understand. it's a real labour of love and a very high-quality book. Getting colder here too. Time to get out the winter clothes. Cheers, Jarkko.
And i also want to recommend your book David about all the JAPANESE records , its on my computer here, always love to read, learn about all the Japanese pressings , great great stuff
Beautiful book. I remember its announcement a little while ago. I don’t have any vinyl from those countries, but almost wish I would’ve bought that book, now.🙂
It certainly is. I see the odd release now and again here in Japan but most of them I'll probably never get to see. You can still get the book by contacting Dick Dekker at asia@theelviscloud.com
Hi Dave great video ,looks an amazing book that ad love to get a copy ad spend hours reading that, the quality of the pictures looks really high ,and there’s plenty to keep u going,a love EL vinyl ref books ,av got an Italian ,Japanese and EL UK ,am trying to get a copy of EL UK 2 ,and I believe there’s a no 3 out also on CDs although av not seen one,but getting back to this book would u believe a had a copy of the EL n Ann Margaret album ,with EL sitting with a coffee cup in hand and the bikini clad Ann Margaret ,little wonder the lovely people from the Far East couldn’t get enough of her ,n rightly so,a don’t have the album now unfortunately but a wonder if it was a boot ,from memory a think it was on red or yellow vinyl ,anyway great book al bet it keeps you busy for a while Dave ,some extremely interesting pressing ,take care mate ,tony 💿📀👍
Hi, Tony. I love discographies too. I think UK3 is an online book, a so-called flip book. They made Elvis UK available as a flip book too. I have both, but I tend to read the physical book more. Nice to have it online though. So, a copy of the album with the Elvis / Ann-Margret cover made its way to the north-east, eh? I've never even seen it. I think it was a boot, certainly grey market at least. All very interesting though. Cheers, Tony.
Hi, It's a very beautiful book without doubt. It really does show the plethora of isuues and variants from different years. I wouldn't mind a few of what is shown but could be quite happy just to have the book to look at instead. I have a few discographies myself, not just on Elvis. I think they are my first type of genre on any performer because, after all that's what the artist is primarily known for records and music. Some of the front covers, though, look like the back, still nice. I wish there would be a good book on Elvis' guitars as he played and owned many.
I love a good discography too. Believe it or not, there was a book written on Elvis' guitars. In Japan. Sadly, it doesn't have many photos. There's an idea for a future video - Elvis books in Japan. The Asian vinyl book is still available, by the way. You can get it from the author: asia@theelviscloud.com
@@ElvisPresleyInJapan Thanks for the info, it should have photos though and details/history about the guitars. There is a web site, 'Scotty Moore's guitars' it even shows the guitars used in the films, a book on this idea would be great. I've just bought a book about the cars/motorcycles owned by Johnny Hallyday, again I think of Elvis for a similar idea.
Interesting article my friend, it would be hard to collect all that lot! LOL PS, have you bought the new 4k ver of Blue Hawaii yet? It’s tremendous, cheers mate!
Really? I'm not on FB so I'd no idea. I know Dick has mentioned it to one of the Elvis websites. We have no plans to do a digital version. Thanks, John.
I'd very difficult to track Hong Kong Elvis lps as Hong Kongers throw their bellowing to the tip. Especially when the items comes from a deceased estate. Very superstitious. When I'm in Hong Kong rarely do I find HK releases. Now that HMV HK is gone it's difficult to get physical media of HK stars of yesteryear and today. Wish I could go back to the 90s where it was a dream to go to HK.😢
Plus recently went to a record fair and found an Elvis dealer. Should have purchased more from him. Especially lp size 45rpm singles of Elvis extended versions of songs
Hi David, thanks for taking the time creating and sharing your episodes. This is a great book.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.

The German book sounds great. 596 pages on EPs from one country? Incredible.
@@ElvisPresleyInJapan Yes it is...but that's a typical "Elvis German Folks" Book ...UNBELIEVABLE 😅

Wonderful book. Some of these records are beautiful
The albums in the book run the gamut from top notch to homemade bootleg level quality. All very fascinating stuff though.
I have this book, and use it many times to identify my records, it's very help full. Can't wait for A second volume.
You're lucky to be able to find any of the records in the book. They hardly ever turn up here in Japan.
Hi Daid what lovely book great things keep up cool video my friend
Yes, it's a really well-made book. A lot of work went into it. Thanks for watching.
Great info shared with us 😊. Really liked the book.
Yes, it'a a beaut. Do you buy a lot of music books yourself?
@@ElvisPresleyInJapan Not many. I have about 15 Elvis books and Beatles. But I do have a lot of non fiction and novels in general.
@@BeatUpRecordsCDs Me too, most of them on a kindle. It broke recently.

Yes, the book mentions that a lot of records were thrown away. HK seems to have changed so much in the last few decades.
