A Phondo/Hlubi band won the Cape Town Jazz Festival in the 80's, it was the first time it had been won by black folk. They had formed a signature African Jazz sound embodied in such songs as Phondo Blues, perhaps Sam could be dusting off the baton. Aah Mtshengu, Ndonga dilika, Nyana weNkosi, Malibongwe.
