How to change vinyl color in Need for Speed Underground

I can’t activate the colors, same with keyboard, Xbox controller or mouse

I click the "vinyl color" text repeatedly with mouse and it somehow works

I couldn't figure it out. Clicking with the mouse and arrow keys did it.

I believe it was either by pressing square on a dualshock or x on an XBOX controller.
