Paragliding is one of the easiest ways for you to start flying. It allows you to take off from almost anywhere and then you can just slowly enjoy panoramic flight back down to the valley. Or use thermals and wind and fly far away. Theres is a lot of different paragliding niches - xc paragliding (cross country paragliding), acro paragliding, soaring, hike and fly and so on….
Completely opposite from paragliding is speed flying. These are made for super fast usually close to the ground proximity flying. There are different sizes and models available giving you slightly different flying possibilities, but all are very reactive, sensitive on inputs and much faster than paragliding wings. For speed flying you also have to be more picky about take off sites. I have to mention you have to master paragliding and downsize slowly before you jump into speed flying!
In this video we are taking xc paragliding harness on hike and fly but instead of paragliding wing this time we’ll use small speed flying wing! I was always wondering how these two things would work together… so here we go!

Nice to see what you look like without a baseball cap on. Last time I saw skid marks on a football pitch like that, someone just scored a goal !!! (I guess it’s also your way of celebrating too !) . Definitely out of all the paragliding RUclips channels yours is the most fun to watch. I got into paragliding thinking speed flying was part of it. Truthfully it’s more what I feel I want. Paragliding is fun but I think speedwings would probably be the more fun for me. I will definitely add speed flying/speed soaring to my life Just want to progress a bit farther in the paragliding world first Too much surface area on that harness to be paired up with a small surface are wing though. Love your channel man!

Definitely start with paragliding 👌 I recommend you to contact your local school and they will give you detailed informations, where you can also try all things and see what fits you the best 😍🤙

Great experiment, thanks for the entertainment. gotta say, mid-roll ads from youtube are super annoying: after watching your video and getting 'screenjumped' by some idiot selling get-rich-with-zero-IQ in the middle of your creation I've just turned them off on my channel. maybe front and end are OK, but we shouldn't be letting them inside our shows.

@@AddictionHappiness yeah it's very unusual to see speedflyers with a reserve but I think it should always be carried. I would really like to know your thoughts about the the different types that can be choosen and as well the placement on the harness, especially for speedfly. Thx :)

Okay so everyone agrees open style harness for small wings 19m and smaller yeah??? So now... My question.. seatboard or non seatboard??
It really depends what you're up to :) For seatboard or non seatboard..its also completely up to you and your personal preference. The best would be if you can try both of them and then see what feels the best for you... I personally prefer without seatboard.

Hi Aljaz, you went too small too soon, for flying with a pod harness. I've been flying Spiruline 18, SuSi2 16 and Niviuk Roller 18 for years in a Pod harness at Stanwell...
