I 100% agree. Planner peace for me IS the process of trying new systems and getting to be creative in each of them. I currently am in A5 rings, disc, book bound and in different sizes. I use to feel that pressure initially of trying to make one thing work, but planning is more than just an organizational tool for me. It is a creative outlet, mental download and hobby. Hello my name is kajmylove and im a cover and planner hopper. :)

I have ten different planners set up. I love them all. I love trying different systems and sizes. It’s so much fun. As long as I have one master planner, then I stay perfectly organized. 😊 I love your content. ❤

So much yes! I am like you, and feel the need to switch sometimes.I've definitely dealt with planner guilt for it also. For me, planning is definitely a creative outlet, and a way to keep life organized, especially as a wife and a mom. I love it. Thank you for this video.

I''m 100% with you, on all the points! On planner/size hopping, on feeling guilty, on trying to achieve some expectations of what planner peace 'should be '. I love exploring and learning and trying and it brings me so much joy! ❤❤❤

I planner-hopped this year and finally found a system that is working for me (for now) !😉 I'm in A6 rings. I love the ability to try new layouts and inserts! It's therapeutic to print, cut and hole-punch new pages. Planner dashboards and stickers? Love them! It's not only a hobby for me, but a way to keep my life in order! Loved your video, by the way!💕

Thanks for this video. At the end of the day it is still just a hobby. And this should be fun. No rules, no pressure, no regrets, just fun. And be flexible enough to react to changes in our lifes. Love it, change it, change it again if needed. But without fun it would not be a hobby.

I agree with you! For me planner peace is just being happy with my setup, everything from how it looks and feels to how functional it is for me. If anything is off about it, I gotta change it until I'm happy with it. But for me that also includes constantly tweaking inserts and taking things in and out and changing section covers (I'm a rings girlie atm, personal w/fcc) and I'm sure if I had more covers I'd be switching those out too 😂 But that's what's so appealing to me about rings! I can change things up all the time if I want to and it feels like a new planner. I used to worry that I changed up the guts of my planner too often and that people would be annoyed but I did it anyway because that's what made me happy. And you've just 10000% completely validated that for me so thank you! 🤍

I love planner hopping myself! Speaking for myself, I need to be honest when I begin to use "my hobby" as a way to procrastinate and not actually use my planner as a tool to better my life and instead as an outlet to deflect and avoid anxiety and stress. Super curious were you a planner hopper before you became active on Instagram and became a RUclipsr? Is there pressure to keep up with popular trends so your content feels fresh and relevant?? I ask because I've been thinking of starting a yt stationery channel, but I don't want to open the door to having to resist that kind of pressure 😅

    • @MaineMamaPlans
      @MaineMamaPlans  9 месяцев назад +2

Thank you for the comment! I was definitely a planner hopper before my channel. I will admit I do sometimes feel like I have to change things up because I don't want to bore everyone with the same video over and over, but, I think that is more important to stay true to myself, my goals, my needs, and not be pressured to change things up just because someone else is. I definitely have noticed though that I have had a lot of guilt around not finding *conventional planner peace* so I wanted to take some time to really think about it, talk about it, and share how I feel. If you feel like you want to start a channel, I say 100% GO FOR IT! There is no one in the world like YOU and I'm sure you'd share some amazing content! I don't think you have to worry about pressure to change things up...especially if there are others out here saying just do your thing! 🥰

I love your attitude. It really is joyful to switch things up and play around with sizes. I’ve been in B6 for many years and before that narrow. Right now I’m using plan perfect which in my opinion has the best letters and options out there. Enjoy the journey.

    Oh, my, this is awesome.
I have been suggesting to myself that I change my thinking or mindset about using various planners/journals and planner hopping. Instead of feeling guilty or stressed about that, have one planner or calendar that is THE ONE that is completely up to date and “trustworthy”. Then…enjoy the planner hopping like you enjoy wearing various pairs of shoes for different outfits, and changing clothes regularly. It’s ok. Just make sure I’ve got a trustworthy place that stays updated.
At least, I’m giving that mindset a try.
Thanks for normalizing planner hopping!! We’re gonna do it anyway, so we might as well embrace it! It’s not a character or integrity issue. I think…😅😂🙂

I agree with you ! I also have ADHD and even if I didn’t want to planner hop, my brain would never let me stay in the same planner for more than a few months ! 😅 I love watching videos and making my own inserts, dividers… I can make it my own and once it works for me… my brain gets bored and I start all over again in another planner size 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Thanks so much Deanna for your video❤. For me, at this time in my life, I am feeling planner peace ☮️, which I think can come from looking inward and seeing what works for yourself. I started my own small business last July, and I’m loving the fact that all of my inserts that I order each year are already dated and ready for me to use. I don’t want to take time away from the other tasks that keep me moving towards my business goals. What helps me is the daily inserts I use have the muted colors I like and I’m able to add a few stickers that blend with them beautifully. I feel planner peace when I look at my day each day😊.
The other thing that seems to be giving me planner peace right now, is keeping my budgeting details in a separate book. I have reinvented my budget system so many times😂, and I’ve had difficulty sustaining every system. But recently I purchased a very simple budget book. I like it that it’s separate. It sits on my desk. I also have a budget app that goes with me on my phone.
The one area I still currently am struggling with is my wallet. I have a wallet that has a small ring mechanism in it. I carry with me some envelopes. And I’m able to put my cards in there. I have a meal planning calendar in there too. I’m just not sure if I should keep that in my other personal size rings. I appreciate any of your thoughts/wisdom💞.

Hi and thank you so much for your sweet comment! I'm so glad you are here and that you enjoyed the video! ♥️ It sounds like you have a functioning setup that works for you and that is AAAmazing! I love that you utilize many different systems (digital/physical/etc) so that is awesome!
I think you should keep doing what you're doing and playing with different ideas and if you find that you need to plan meals more on the go, then maybe it makes sense to have that in your smaller wallet/planner. I have seen some incredible setups of people doing that like @crystalplanss Pocket Holborn setup video! Just keep playing and maybe even add it to your personal rings, too, and see which one you gravitate towards more!
