Hi. I'm Siobhán from Ireland. I bought my ukelele during the covid lock down to keep me from getting depressed. It was the best thing I did. I watched your videos and slowly began to play simple songs. It kept my spirits up and still continues to give me great joy. I'm now part of a ukelele group in my local town and we meet every week to play, sing and chat. I'm so grateful ukelele is part of my life and to you Cynthia for helping me feel it was all possible. Blessings and season's greetings to you and your loved ones.

My husband and I were vacationing in Hawaii when covid struck, and ended up being there a month longer than we'd planned before we could get a flight home. The many, many free ukulele tutorials that were offered online then (Cynthia Lin, Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Stu Fuchs, and many others) kept me from going crazy as we couldn't do anything, even in Hawaii. Everything was shut down. The uke helped me keep my sanity. Haha It is such a happy instrument, and you meet so many nice people who also play.

    Hi Cynthia
Well I’m 78 and this is my first post ever so I’m thankful for that. About two months ago I needed something to keep my fingers and mind nimble. So without a musical bone in my body I purchased a ukulele and found you on RUclips for that Im truly grateful as both have given me immense joy. I live in Naples, FL and would love to see you perform. As for a song it would be any song as I still don’t have a musical bone in my body.

I love that! I'm 58 and started playing in February using the RUclips play alongs. They are great! I bring my ukulele to my mother's place. She has Alzheimer's and loves music. When I play and sing with her, she is very happy. Music is the best therapy.

These comments are so beautiful, I love that your mother still finds joy in music in these stressful times. Music has a way of bringing us all back to a common center, a center that transcends the concept of time. Alzheimer’s sort of drops you in different decades at anytime that it wants and somehow music still carries the same power. I’m praying for you and your families, Merry Christmas

Hi Cynthia. I am grateful for my ukulele. They say you can’t frown when the ukulele music is going down and that is the truth! I live in New Brunswick, Canada and would love to see you come to my beautiful province. The song I would love to see you play is I Can’t Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt. I am trying to learn some Carrie Underwood songs. I love the stories her songs tell. You are certainly an inspiration to us ukulele players and I am happy to be a patron.

Hi Cynthia ! I'm grateful to have people like you promoting the Ukulélé and sharing their knowledge to people that want to learn the Ukulélé. I am still a beginner, but the joy this instrument has given me for the last 18 months is colossal, and it is because of people like you Cynthia that give time and knowledge to the Ukulélé community. I leave in France, in a very small village in the South West near Toulouse, and can't find a Ukulélé teacher... so without the internet community, I don't think I could have carry on. I would love to learn "The girl from Ipanema" or "Perfect day" from you which are 2 beautiful songs. Thank you and have a nice festive season. See you on Saturday for the Live Strum along !

The giveaway is so great for doing this giveaway. I am grateful for getting introduced to Ukelele last year. I never thought about the Ukelele until I heard someone playing it. I started learning from RUclips videos and of course watching your videos. I am from Indiana. I would love to see you do a concert at Ball State University at their music department in Muncie Indiana. What a blessing it would be to have one of your signature ukeleles.

    Hello Cynthia,
I am a band director/elementary music teacher and have enjoyed many years of teaching my 5th grade students to play ukulele. I am grateful to have the best job in my school district, being able to create and play music with my students every day. I teach in a small school district right in the middle of Michigan. Your videos have been helpful in my teaching ukulele to my young musicians. Songs I would most like to see are any that would be fun and appropriate for elementary aged children to sing and play in a performance for their friends and families.

I picked up Ukulele when I retired 10 years ago and fell in love with the instrument. It brought me great comfort to play quietly for my father as he lay in hospice and give him some peace. I now play for my new granddaughter, Ruth, (18 months old) and love it when she comes over to strum the Uke. I hope to someday play duets with her! Your videos brink me great joy and love watching them. I'm building up the nerve to play at the long term care facility where I volunteer. Thank you for making this possible.

We learn so much more valuable lessons in difficult times when we can be victorious on the other side of the situation. I'm Ilene from NJ and thanks to Cynthia, I have been playing ukulele for nearly four years. I consider myself a more high-intermediate level player but want to improve my skills in fingerpicking. I'm so grateful I found you as I come from a big musical family. I used to play piano and stopped but learning the uke has reignited my interest and am relearning piano as well. I love to sing, but just have to get up the nerve to sing in front of people. There's no one song I want to learn as I am interested in all genres of music so anything new is fine by me!!!

Hi! I’m Kasia from Poland. Last year my 8-year old daughter started to learn ukulele to be able to play in a duo with a friend. She still learns it, although it's harder ever since I started to steal the instrument from her 😂. I just fell in love with its infinitely complex simplicity.
I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional lessons. Your passion for music and skillful teaching have made learning a delightful journey. Each strum brings me closer to mastering this wonderful instrument, and it's all thanks to your guidance. I appreciate your patience, encouragement, and the joy you bring to every session. I share with you the belief that playing ukulele is good both for your mind and your heat. I’m truly grateful for this new beautiful thing in my life!
Come on tour to Poland please! It’s cold and snowy here and we really need your warmth!
I’d really love to see your arrangement of the Nature Boy song. It’s one of my favourites. I love singing it too. I gather it won’t be easy, but if you can’t do it, it can’t be done 👍
Looking forward to more harmonious lessons!

    Hi 👋 Cynthia
I work at a school in AIEA, Hawaii and they started a Ukulele Club for the students. Sadly they didn’t have an instructor to teach the class but someone volunteered to teach the class and learn with the students together. So I downloaded some of your music sheets and shared links to your RUclips videos where they could follow along with you. It’s been a wonderful experience for the class to get a running start and come together and simply have fun and make new friends and learn something new. Mahalo for providing the tools and knowledge they now have to continue what you have taught them. Thank you 🙏 soooo much! 😁🥰👍

From my parents who encouraged my love for the mountains, music, and the oceans throughout their lives, to my wife and 2 daughters who not only give me love and support, but listen to (endure?) my ukulele obsession and very mediocre playing (I am probably exaggerating how good I am) in the garage. I am a somewhat long-time subscriber. I would love to have you teach a tutorial on The Ghost In You (Psychedelic Furs) or Takin' It To The Streets (Doobie Bros) - I know you have a secret passion for old rock tunes (i.e., Message In a Bottle, Sweet Child). Hi, Cynthia! This is Helen Tian living in Atlanta with my family. I’m so grateful to find your channel for it’s the easiest follow to learn for total beginners like me and my daughter. She is autistic and loves any forms of string instrument that can make her calm and happy. I bought a ukulele for her as a toy and show her your 3 little birds video without any expectations. She actually managed to play it. It is amazing🎉 she is now learning LAVA and I’m now practicing and performing Feliz Navidad, my friends don’t believe I haven’t taken lessons besides watching RUclips videos.😂 my wish list is more traditional Christmas songs that I can play the melody without singing. Like silent night holy night. Hark the Harold Angels Sing.

Hello from Boston MA - I live actually a little north of Boston. I just need to say THANK YOU to you as I love love LOVE your videos. I am just learning, for a year now. I practice every day and try so hard to sound like you. Unfortunately, I am far from sounding like you but I try. I can't carry a note and I have not figured out how to strum but I still play along and sing with your videos. You make my day brighter. I am grateful for the senior center in my area that offered beginner uke lessons to a senior and their grandchild. I called the center up and said 'I have no grandchild, no ukulele and can't read music'. They lent me a uke, hooked me up with a grand and gave me the chord on music sheets. I had so much fun learning I wanted more and that is how I found you. I went on line and practiced 3 LITTLE BIRDS. I love your group/duets videos with others. All your play alongs are great but it might be fun to try Shore Town songs, like sailor music. Thank you for being you and giving so much thru the internet.

HI Cynthia, I'm Collette (57) from Guernsey in the Channel Islands. Four years ago my son took his life and I had to find a way to keep going for my other children and friends. My three amazing friends, Margy, Annie and Rachel took up my invitation to learn the Ukulele. We had no experience but looked at your videos and decided we would love to learn, (our inspiration to be as good as you haven't quite materialised ha ha ha) but now 2 /12 years on we are still playing, loving it and I can honestly say practising is the best time of my day and our lesson is the ultimate highlight of my week. I am so grateful for the love and loyalty of my three friends who have pulled me through the darkest of times, when I'm missing Jacob music has been my saviour. Thank you for introducing three mature ladies to the joy of Ukulele. I would love to learn Sound of Silence.

Coming to you from Toronto, Canada and I am amongst the thousands of people who started playing the ukulele when covid interrupted all our lives. It was great to use the Cynthia Lin youtube videos to get me started and keep me going during this time. I recently joined the Ukulele Orchestra of Toronto for a completely different experience, playing with different ukulele parts. I also recently played in the Ukulele Wang Dang Doodle on Algonquin Island, part of the Centre Island complex in the Toronto harbour, where I played with other, about 50, and on stage in front of the audience, what an experience. I also made several contacts which I will pursue in the New Year. What a lot to be thankful for! 😃

Greetings - My name is Audree and I live in Oshkosh Wisconsin. Bought my concert ukulele three years ago and have been a member of the Oshkosh Ukulele Club that meets at the senior center every Wednesday for playing and singing along to a host of different songs. I am also a member of the Oshkosh Area Ukulele Players which is a group of ukesters that play at nursing homes. I belong to Banjo Bill and Kinfolk, a 5 piece group of relatives that play music for the Salvation Army’s red kettle campaign to collect donations to help those in need in our area, and we play at several nursing homes as well. We love sharing our music with others!
Learning to play, (with a yearning to learn so much more), has brought a sense of fulfillment to me. Meeting others that play ukulele has helped me grow new friendships, and to bring happiness to others.
Your teaching methods are wonderful - easy to understand and follow. Thank you so much for all the videos to help us improve playing our instruments!
I deeply appreciate the opportunity to win one of your specially designed ukuleles.
I would like to see some tips on playing Alabama’s Christmas in Dixie.
Thank you again, and keep up the awesome work!

Hello Cynthia and team. Thank you for all you do! I'm in Englewood, Florida. We have a huge ukulele community here and that's been wonderful. Come to the Sarasota area and perform. You'll have a huge, enthusiastic audience for sure!
What I'm very grateful for is my supportive husband. Since I've taken up ukulele and learned (of course through Cynthia's videos) to play, he's played ukulele with me. He used to play the banjo, so the uke has been easy for him. Together we've worked out some harmonizing. We've performed at assisted living facilities and at parties. It's been great fun and something we can do together as we both love music and actually met through singing. I was in Sweet Adeline's and he was in barbershop. So thankful for such a loving, supportive husband!!!
A song I would love to learn is "It's the Girl" performed by Bette Midler on her "It's the Girls" album. There is also a very old recording by the Boswell Sisters, 1931.
    Thanks!

I’m originally from Puerto Rico, so music has always been near and dear to my heart, but I always wanted to learn to play an instrument. Your beautiful lessons on RUclips actually inspired me to buy my first ukulele, and then I needed to know more about music. So then I got a piano, piano lessons, and then enrolled into our local county college’s music program to learn music theory, and sight singing and ear training. Now I’m composing songs and helping my own child with his learning of a music instrument, the saxophone. Needless to say, I am DEEPLY GRATEFUL for your presence on this planet and what you share with all of us. It’s opened up a whole world that I did not know was available to me. My life is so much more fun and joyful. So thank you! I would love to learn a different strum pattern and I’m interested in what you would use for something like “Please come home for Christmas”. I’ve been using Guitar Tabs, but I like your arrangements! Looking forward to seeing you on the 9th!!! Love and light to all! 💖🙏🏼

Hello Cynthia, I am thankful for you and all the Ukulele community that post videos. It’s so refreshing to see positive people on the internet sharing their love for this instrument. Atlanta Georgia definitely needs to see more Ukulele. I am a huge fan of Mark Knopfler’s song writing and lyrics and think Heart of Oak would be a very nice song to play. Good luck to everyone.

Hiya Cynthia! It's been a while since I've watched your videos from all the way back in eighth grade back in 2016 when I first started learning how to play the ukulele with your videos and the ukulele teacher's videos (three little birds, riptide, how to tune and especially La Vei En Rose.) 'Till now, I'm still playing the ukulele for my friends and family. I'd like to join the giveaway so here's my entry:
I'm grateful for my best friend. Third year of uni has been really stressful and I'm grateful that she's stuck by me to always cheer me up everytime that I've thought I've failed my exam. Going to frozen yogurt places to calm down and just talk about life with here has been a blessing.
I moved from Queensland to New South Wales, Sydney, 3 years ago for university, and while things are wilder than the rural town that I was in, I'm loving it all! Would love for you all to come so we could all have a ukulele jam session!
I'd like to learn a harder version of La Vei En Rose (maybe a fingerpicking version) as I really love that song~
That's it for me, I'll be tuning in on the livestream next week with my trusty ol' ukulele haha!

gday! i will likely visit Sydney again soon, maybe you and your friend would be able to come jam! thanks for your suggestion, i think a more advanced version of La Vie would be nice to share, i’ll keep it in mind!

Aloha! It's David from the UK. I has the pleasure of seeing you, Lenny & Abe at the Half Moon pub in Putney, London this year, but would love to see you again! I'm grateful for the pleasure the ukulele brings me, it's a real joy-booster. I took the step to join a Ukulele club this year - it's great to play with a group of like-minded people and even performed two solos, Hotel California by the Eagles and Someone you Loved by Lewis Capaldi in our open mic sessions. Lewis has some lovely songs and arrangements that would be great for the ukulele. Happy Holidays everyone!

Hello from Belfast Maine! I’m Libby Catania and I’m so grateful that I have the safety and leisure time to learn to play an instrument. And I’m super grateful that I found Cynthia’s tutorials. Your teaching is helping me find my inner musician, who has been napping for 52 years 😊 I would like to learn Michael Franti tunes - Good day for a good day, say hey, life is amazing when it sucks… really anything! Abundant blessings to you and yours!

Happy Holidays Cynthia! I am in Portland, Oregon. I am grateful for my circle of friends who were so kind to help me learn to play ukulele by forming a little private group: Super Secret Ukulele Sisters. There's nothing better than playing and singing with supportive friends (we often watch your youtube tutorials together) ❤🎶
I would love to learn, and hear you play Joni Mitchell's "River". Thanks for all you do for the greater ukulele community! Aloha!

Hi Cynthia! Greetings from New York! Thank you so much for this offer! I love your music! I am grateful for music and family time. I learned ukulele from your channel. I started playing a couple of years ago during my recovery after I lost a baby and a major surgery :'( Your music has helped me stay alive. During covid lockdowns, my children and I had a zoom "mini Christmas concert" singing and playing along your holiday song book for my families. It was really fun. Now my 12-year-old daughter is playing the ukulele, too. I just emailed her your holiday songbook today. I hope she enjoys playing as much as I do. Happy holidays!

I have always loved all genres of music and wished I could play an instrument! Five years ago, my local library started a weekly ukulele program:) This has been life changing for me~our group of total novices, many of us with no background in music, have all grown together, and just last Sat played at the Holiday party for adults with special needs here at our church. Cynthia, I have turned to your amazing instruction countless number of times through the years for guidance and inspiration, as well as the monthly lessons on Patreon!
I live in Hampton Bays, Long Island, NY, about 90 minutes from New York City, and there is a venue in Huntington NY called the Paramount as well! I love the variety of song choices you have covered each month over the past few years, especially the Hawaiian tunes that are new to me! I think you’ve already covered it, but a simplified version of Girl from Impanema would be amazing!! 🌺❤️

I'm from Roanoke VA and I'm greatful for Cynthia. Her beginner videos taught me to play back in 2020 and I love the sheet music and tutorials she provides. I've been practicing on Ripple by the Greatful Dead and With a Girl Like You by The Troggs and it would be cool to hear Cynthia's arrangement. Thanks for everything.

Hi Cynthia,we have been following you for over 4 years. We are grateful for your beginner ukulele workshop you held in the Bay Area back then. We are now in Payson, Az and play in a uke group every Tuesday at our library. We are an hour away from Phoenix and would love to see you again. My favorite songs is hard to name but I’ll say Fly Me To The Moon. Aloha and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi Cynthia! We're from the US, but living in Taiwan! This time of year I'm especially thankful for my savior for coming to our world as a baby for us. I'm thankful for my family and also that I can pass along what I've learned (mostly from you!) and teach a little ukulele elective course at school with my middle schoolers. I'd love any song by Over the Rhine. :)

Hi Cynthia!!! I am so grateful for my 15 year old son......the best thing I ever did! I am from Portland, Oregon. I started learning the ukelele during covid, it was so much fun and I continue to learn more and more songs still today. I often search and try to find anything from the Red Hot Chili Peppers ;). I think Soul to Squeeze from them would be fun to learn. Thank you for all the sharing you have done and I am grateful for all the songs I learned with you as well!!!
