- Tuesday was supposed to be just a presentation by Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony, who speaking about the issues BSO is currently having with staffing at the 911 call centers.
It's easy for that commissioner to seat back and throw punches and criticize the sheriff.
He’s actually a terrible sheriff.
@@maryanngrubbs7371 he lied about killing a man in self defense but omitted that information from applications, his agency lost two or three deputies to COVID due to lack of PPE, he was caught yelling at deputies before he lost a no confidence vote, he’s fired two deputies due to force which sounds good until you find out a jury found both not guilty, his 911 center is falling apart, he has very little experience for the job.

Tony killed a man as a teen but never explained it or listed it during his sheriff selection 🗂. His excuse was he was 14 and his court records were sealed.

Gregory Tony can come be the new sheriff in Miami-Dade when the state allows it. The 911 center there is staffed and all the phones are using VoIP.
The command staff of Lake County FL told citizens flat out how 911 ☎️ calls for service might take up to 45min. This was in 2019, 2018 era pre Covid19.
All phones are hacked and controlled trust the whole 911 Network system needs to re done ✅
I been telling them the 911 system was screwed up!! I was telling the Police Departments!!!! Could it be to many iPhones attached to the system or Network! I'm just saying🧐🤷🏽♀️
VoIP does not work good if your internet drops out. 😬
That's why they put generators at cell towers. Yeah cell phones are also IP based on some services, hopefully that generator stays running after an outage.
@@mikemccormack3997 VOIP works very well as long as your internet is up and not dropping packets. That's why we use QoS for voice applications over IP. If you got a power issue, well then that's another story.
Anyone else miss Al Lambert I? At least we never had issues like staffing shortages and 911 calls not being answered.
I never saw ATV's and Quads driving on main streets blowing red lights and wheelies. BSO officers are terrified to enforce some laws (or were they told NOT to?).
Tony needs money to fix the problem 🤦higher salaries, more retention, better recruiting strength. You really want to retain staff just ASK them how YOU as sheriff can make their job easier and less stressful. You may be surprised how small changes to policy can make more difference than a fifty cent raise an HR every year.
Not just throw money at a problem and pass the buck onto the taxpayers.

@Popu doc It is our concern when they are not paying people a decent enough wage to live when they are responsible for emergency calls. I mean come on you can't be that stupid.

The county commissioners are elected officials. They have ever right & response to express their views. The sheriff should be treated with respect but he should also not have a temper, lash out. There are valid points on both sides. 2022 is a awful time to be in sworn LE work 🚔.

@@lincolndjimon141 the county commissioners allocate taxpayer funds to the sheriff. They are entitled to ask where the funds are going and how those funds are used.
@@fierybutmostlypeaceful1708 true. But they are told where the money is going before they even cut the check. The sheriff presents the county commission with a proposed budget, outlining what money is needed and where it’s going.
That is a very good idea outsource it don’t throw money at it find a way to make it work if you keep putting a Band-Aid on it it’s gonna keep bleeding once you take the Band-Aid off

Often times is internal policy that causes employers to lose employees.. not just pay. I seen a lot of people quit high paying jobs for less stressful lower paying ones.

Its absolutely disgusting that this man is being railroaded because he did not disclose that he killed someone when he was 14 in self defense. He was a minor and he was acquitted for it. By law he doesn’t have to disclose it because its sealed.
Whats even more astounding is that this is the state that supposedly espouses “Stand Your Ground”. Amazing how quickly empathy for that got thrown out.
