I didn't really care to dig into Mr. Reis' music too much before. Listening to him now, I realize just how much of an inspiration he was to people like Paulo Bellinati.
absolutely wonderful. Reis is my favorite guitar composer. "Eterna Saudade" is eternal indeed. "si ella perguntar' is one of the most romantic pieces ever written.

I myself remember that the very first guitar recordings I've heard was two or three LPs from Dilermando that my parents had. Congrats to Salvatore Fortunato, that dressed Dilermando music with quite a refined touch!

Lauter Unvollkommenheit good point! This also reminded me of Manuel Ponce whose preludes I’ve actually attempted! My comment appears to be breaking down quite a bit, probably because while I know all these composers, my favorites are from earlier periods: Tarrega, Bach, Carcassi, Sanz, Mertz.
@@uriahl2331 I'm sure you know a lot more guitar composers from the 20th century: Falla, Turina, Torroba, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Lecuona, Rodrigo, Piazzola, etc. But I think Barrios is the most important of them.
