    He works so effortlessly even while standing. I've done some pottery on a pottery wheel (sitting) and getting the technique down is not as easy as it looks. He's really talented to be able to make those so quickly too

      I don't see what makes you (and the uploader, because of the title) think that his craft is some sort of talent. If anything, it is one of the most evident manifestations of lack of talent I've seen, because he evidently practised the exact same repetition for decades. You see these fast-food cooks in RUclips videos cooking, well, really rapidly, and other fast craftsmen-and-women alike; if decided upon an immediate glance, one might think that such people really must be gifted to be able to work so rapidly, but I assure you that's not the case. There is nothing impressive in repetitive work. Imagine repeating the exact same motion for eight hours per day for decades (to me an absolute nightmare), being thus deprived of all chances to explore the world, and allowing your weak self to be exploited by those who are better than you. One day, during your old age, you have the luck of having some evidence of your craft released to a broader audience, which is in no way accustomed to what your work implies (thus they will disclose awe); after that, you yourself might think that you're quite amazing, if your intellectual incapacity hadn't already deluded yourself to think so, but that's not the case. Unintelligent people find some sort of fulfillment, it appears, from repeatedly doing insignificant things.

    Reading some comments, people saying give him an electric pottery wheel? He's been using a manual one for years by the looks, and doing just fine.
    An electric one would be useless to him as he's probably got no power source to connect it to, which complicates the whole process. Sheer hard work and determination is what has lead to these beautiful peices of art, what he needs is support and kindness, also for people to buy his wares so he can continue his craft.

    • @nyakwarObat
      @nyakwarObat 5 лет назад

      What the fuck would electric shit do apart from add a bill he doesn't need considering he just worked on a couple of pots, probably faster than some guy with an electric doodah? They be crazy

      I think what people really mean is at least give him a wheel that has a pedal to spin it. What he is doing here is amazing sure but look at the way he is standing. If he has one with a pedal it would save him a lot of back pain.

    Back in the early seventies I lived in a village in South India. I used big water pots like that sitting in a bed of sand in the corner of my house because the evaporation kept my drinking water cool in that hot climate. I am 72 years old now and I long to return back to that Village again. I hope this virus ends so that I may return one more time in this lifetime. I learned so much by living there for a few years with a host family in Kabisthalam in Tamil Nadu India. I love the people dearly and the culture.

      sagar naliyapara that's wonderful :) It's really unfortunate that plastic pots have come to be in higher demand in the cities. Bangalore has a whole area named after potters (Potters' Town), but because of shrinking demand, all that's left of Potters town is four or five potter families, and they don't want their children to continue this profession for obvious reasons. Perhaps the last generation of potters that we're witnessing.

    A black pot with wide mouth and rotund shape is auspicious in any house and consuming water with copper glass improves oxygen levels in blood. It helps in feeling light and spirited to work with vigour and zeal. My mother always used ro tell me...I miss her as I see this video ..the pots remind me of those wisdom words.
