many times i think that game awards shouldn't exist (or just don't give awards to games that don't deserve it instead of giving awards to games that are actually amazing and innovative (e.g. sonic frontier, pizza tower etc.)).

That depends more on the Sonic you use, than "Can he beat the 7 Archons". Archie Sonic? Pretty sure *fate itself* bends to help that man win. Meanwhile, Movie Sonic is just fast. And OVA Sonic is fast and pretty tanky. Game Sonic? He's all over the place, so you figure out how to pin him down. I assume the Archons, by comparison, only have one, more nailed-down version to compare with.
