    Tips:
    1. Use beginner audio program
    2. Use frequency lists (nouns verbs adjectives, 5 words a day)
    3. Read translated comics
    4. Passive listening (expose urself to ur target language during ur downtime)
    5. Read Novels/Rewatch shows (in other languages or without subs)

Reading a novel/full length book is the ultimate language learning exercise. My language learning career can be defined by the “pre books era” and the post books era. The impact that reading just one full length novel can have on vocabulary is 100x what any daily studying will ever achieve.

i fully agree but as someone who's learning japanese, all the characters put me back. It's more and more easier but each time i come upon a long sentence that has just 265161 words and kanji that i've never seen before understand, it's just exhausting and it gives me headaches
Well at least i found many tricks to search them(like google trad with the camera that recognizes kanji) but sometimes i just need to stop, go out and breath for a while
I wish one day i can read japanese et just think "remember the last time you saw a word you didn't know ? that was so long ago"

Learn one, or ar least get "dangerous" with it. Then, use that language to learn the next one. First, I'll get better at Spanish, then I'm planning on learning Mandarin through resources designed for Spanish speakers. In that way,I learn a new language while sharpening my skills in the one I just mastered. Takes away the fear of forgetting Spanish while I focus on a completely different language. I'm Japanese learning many languages.
And to say the least, 'Pimsleur' literally changed my life.
You can really focus on imitating what native speaker say, like a baby practicing their mother tongue.
If you haven't tried hard on pronunciation at the beginning, you might have the difficulties as you study more.
That is because it becomes harder to FIX the pronunciation as you go further(that is my experience in English and I've heard many people experience this)
So it is really essential to practice and imitate as much as possible.
    This app is literally amazing.

This could not have dropped at a better time! I’m currently a high school senior and I’m planning to start seriously studying Korean in a few weeks. I’ve always loved languages but had horrible experiences with them (the way they teach languages in high school sucks omg) but I don’t want to have any regrets so I’m committing to studying 3 hours on average everyday for the next three months. The college I will be attending in the fall has an amazing East Asian studies program so I am hoping that by the end of the summer, I made enough progress to decide if I want to make Korean part of my formal education. Thank you so much for all your videos! They inspired me to take on this challenge.

When I first started studying Korean. I took it slow, I studied the alphabet Hangul (it’s quite simple actually) and I focused on pronunciation. I find it’s a mixture of Latin language sounds and English/ a few different ones. Then once I could somewhat read and understood their sounds then I watched a lot of shows. I picked up so many expressions, and understanding of when to use something that it was quite useful. Now when I study I focus more on the listening and speaking part. The channel motivate Korean really emphasize listening repeatedly. So I find an audio I can listen to and listen to it many times without studying it. Your brain kind of slows things down after a while and sort of files an audio file in your memory. Then I study the transcript (a lot of YT vids have Korean subs and you can pull the transcript from the three dots and open transcript or use something like drama subtitles. Then since I can read and already have the audio stuck in my head the studying comes in. After studying it a bit, I go back to listening. And yeah listening is great because I do it while washing dishes, sweeping, walking my dog, even at work sometimes. A great multitasking tool. Having a study partner in the native Lang. is pretty awesome for learning as well. Hope everything goes well. Keep searching the language learning YT for tips. (Lindie botes, Stephen Kaufman ...

Try going for books specifically designed for language learning, such as "Japanese stories for language learners" - Eriko Sato & Anne McNulty. I personally enjoyed reading the traditional stories for a bit of cultural insight, and it also contains a dictionary for all the words used at the end of each story. If you enjoy comics or anime, try buying some manga as well. These kinds of books do contain kanji, but both provide furigana alongside it, therefore you just need knowledge of hiragana and katakana and you're ready to go.

      - pimsleur or any begginer audio program
-listen to lots and lots of japanese podcasts such as "hapa eikaiwa" they can be found in google podcatst
      - consume content in japanese like anime or other movies which you have watched before. For example, frozen is dubbed into lots of languages including japanese.
      - frequency lists. Look up frequency lists and see the most used words in the languages and see if you can recognize them in the podcast and music that you listen .
      - look up basic grammar rules so that you can make sentences on you own. Like "わたしわかよでづ"/ "i am kayo".
      - learn nouns, pronouns, etc words that are necessary to communicate such as "a, the, of, you, how, if, why, then, for, leave, by, should, word, nothing, are, can, way, know, about" etc.

    • @Reforming_LL

Use Tae Kim’s grammar guide, then after going through everything in that guide, it’s time for the fun part, immersion, but first you’ll need is Anki, remember to read the manual. Then watch shows, read books/manga, listen to podcasts, or any content made for native speakers of Japanese, and if you encounter a sentence with a word that you don’t know in it, plop that sentence onto Anki, with the unknown word’s meaning, not the whole sentence’s meaning, only the word. If you have a PC however, you could also use some of Migaku’s or TheMoeWay’s tools for language learning, as those are way more convenient and faster than doing it manually.
