I just take it as a compliment when someone says I “just sit there”. Means I’m doing my job making it look easy😂

100% just like all these ignorant people saying that it's easy and we just sit rhere. Like actually go RIDE horse don't sit and bounce around RIDE. You have to be so fit to ride horses. I haven't cantered in ages and when i did the other day my gosh did i realise how unfit i was, my core was burning, my legs were dead and i was so out of breath!.
Also the breakdancer looked so much like Kath 😭

There's this thing in the USA (I don't know if it is anywhere else) called IEA where you draw a random horse from the selection and you have to ride it in your class. For flat you have to get on and go, no warm up or anything. For jumping, you get two warm up jumps then you do your course. Most of the time, these are horses you have never met or even seen before. You get a couple little things about them that will help you a bit, but it's mostly you handling it on your own

I give u credit riding everyday and actually caring ab the horse. Cruelty in the horse business is what led me to stop riding and start donating $$ to organizations that are trying to change what humanity does to horses😮 I hope u continue to do yhe work u do. Perhaps people will raise standards for horses, but as Horses Plus Humane (TN, USA) put it - nothing has changed in 20yrs! Why do we do this to such heartful and beautiful animals😢

I was so excited for the equine part of the Olympics and then me and my family started to watch it, keep in mind this was like weeks ago. I was like “I don’t know if anyone in our family (house family) would be able to do this” and my oldest sister replied with “ all of us could, all you do is sit there. The horse does everything for you.” And to this day she is still fighting with me that the horse does everything and all you do is sit there, but I disagree strongly. The horse and rider are very talented in a relationship that they work equally in. Her pain was that the only thing the rider has to do is train it then they are an Olympic couple. Which is completely false. I told her she should try riding in any competition, and see how hard and nerve racking it is. Horses do not do all the work, I’m not saying they don’t do anything, but it’s an equal share of work. I’m super mad about my sister and she needs to learn what it’s like to do any sport like horse riding, and that she could not and probably never will be an equestrian in the Olympics.

I am a part of a national (American) organization where you watch all the horses warmed up by people who know them. You’re not allowed to take notes or videos. Handed another sheet about a couple other details of them. Then you draw out of a hat a horse for flat and jumping and boom get on jump two fences, talk to your trainer, and bam you’re being judged! It’s really cool to get to know horses so quickly and I enjoy it so much! That’s why riding a horse for a couple minutes doesn’t seem super crazy to me!

I freaking HATE when people say that. I remember watching that in the last Olympics 4 years ago and 90% of those ppl could not ride it was terrible and horrific to watch and I was saying how that really should not be a part in the modern pathalon and it's not like there doing just flat work or even little 2ft jumps!! I am so glad this is the last year for that. They are taking the equestrian out of it from this point forth. Thank god!

I made a plan to do a somersault under my horse. I set up a bar about the height of my horse's barrel to train in getting under it. But when I actually began training, I was very unnerved by the sudden feeling of pressure on my cranium. I got up & put my riding helmet on, & tried again; but I just couldn't work out how to do it. I didn't manage even 1 somersault.
