Not mentioned here was that Sant'Ambrogio suffered extensive damage during World War II bombing raids. The apse is a reconstruction, as are the vaults. The amount of cultural and historical loss is incalculable.

We actually do note this in the video though briefly in an annotation.

Thank the British, who sided with Jewish supremacy against Western civilization

Great video. An uncrowded gem in walking distance from the center of Milan.

Wow. There are so many things about this basilica that would be fascinating to see explored further. That amazing mosaic, the interesting use of the groin vault, the incredible altar, the antiquity and all the various influences witnessed here - along with so many other features - it's all fantastic. Thanks for a glimpse of this wonderful place. :)

Ich hatte die Gnade, einige Male dieses erhabene Heiligtum besuchen zu dürfen. Ein absolutes Muss für jeden Mailand Besucher. Für diesen wertvollen professionell erstellten Beitrag ein herzliches Dankeschön.

The bells that started ringing in the background, made it feel as if I were right there with Steven and Beth.

This was an appropriate end for the Medieval playlist - so many gorgeous religious spaces. My life became so much more expensive because I've got to see some of them in person, lol.
The Saint Ambrose embroidery got me - I've never seen anything quite like it. The colors are so similar but distinct enough to make out important features. It's lovely.
... and then I saw the golden altar and lost my breath. You guys really did save (some of) the best for last. 🙂

That altar is truly breathtaking. And we're glad you noted the embroidery. It is so lovely.
