The words look weird in English, they kind of do not make sense. It is a rock song, actually from our iconic rock band. Its main singer unfortunately drowned with Estonia, the ship in 1994. May be you heard of it, the biggest ship tragedy of peaceful times during the last century. Anyway, this rock band, managed to create and perform those patriotic songs during soviet occupation because the managed to create the lyrics so vague that they only made sense for us. The soviet idiots and censorship slaves they just sounded as a love song. This is why they were able to exist and create music. The lyrics in English do not make much sense. This is poetry and poetry, if it can ever at all be translated, needs to be translated by a poet, not Google translate
ruclips.net/video/PmH9ECHKeUo/видео.html Check this out. I like this version a lot more, much more Estonian. this one is a little too "gospelish", it somehow does not sound Estonian. The guy singing on the link I sent is actually a drama actor. It is a very Estonian thing for drama actors to sing, but sing as actors, not trying to imitate musicians. It is a very Estonian thing and I love that.
Võimas!! Ilus, Ott Lepland! Parim esitus Urmas Alenderi järel.
