    I'm honestly contemplating reporting this because this is very aggressive. This is not remotely gentle and after these rabbits pass, I hope you don't get more for their sake.

    the rabbit is unhappy and the way you´re handling him is very brutal! maybe give some cuddles and a bit of love would be good!

      I was thinking the same thing, chrissake.... haircut is the way to go... or a stitch remover, it works wonder, and mind you, my lionhead is a lot hairier than this one is!

      Rabbits do not like cuddling. The rabbit is not
      being harmed. These are show rabbits and used to being groomed.

      +Amélie Prévost Cutting would be a DQ for showing. These are show rabbits not pets.

      i dont like the way you comb your bunnies hair...your not sensitive on the first part combing her as if your pulling something that needs to be immediately taken..you have to remember that their hair sticks to their skin thats why your bunny is annoyed with you and not happy.. if I comb your hair the way you comb her you might say ouch seriously...show some love the way you touch her..

    • @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564
      @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564  7 лет назад +2

      I appreciate your concern but a bunny's wool/fur is not the same as human hair and the parts that I am combing out are not pulling from her skin - I take it you have a lot of experience grooming show rabbits? I am always willing to learn - can you link to your video? :-)

    at 2140 that small tool is a flee comb,I use those with my shih tzus after i finish combing them out with the other comb, it helps to remove dirt and debrie from their hair, and to catch any flees of course, though mine don't have any so far this year, so I'm using that on the rabbit, only if necessary, but your information has been valuable to me as a first time lion head owner, I love her, already and we have only had them both for about 1 week. so just getting into grooming another animal. I owned a Jersey woolley years ago, and groomed her once a week at least as she got hay and dirt in her hair alot, her name was Wonda woolley.

      We are anxiously awaiting your video on how to properly groom a Lionhead for showing. Can't wait to be gown the correct way! Always willing to learn 😉😂😘

    • @genesismcmahon9765

      yeah seriously, this is an aggressive way of grooming. She says she's being gentle but as a seasoned lionhead rabbit owner, I can tell you right now I would not have a bond with my rabbits if I treated them remotely similar. They may not like grooming, sure, but the way they're being handled here is really hard to watch. Find another video this is not how you do it.

      @@genesismcmahon9765 Completely agree! Sadly you see this scenario in breeder videos all too often. It makes me cry for the rabbits. TY for treating YOUR buns with compassion. ❤️

    our lion head has so much hair around his eyes it covers his eyes. should I trim it?

    • @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564
      @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564  7 лет назад

      Hi Captain - as a pet especially I would trim it! - comfort for the rabbit and it is easier for you - so you both can enjoy each others company. A show bunny cannot be trimmed so more grooming is required :-)

    I wouldn't use a flea comb to groom it's to fine, I use a cat slicker brush and a dog comb to get the debris out. If your getting too many knots then comb more often.
    I rarely have to groom too often as their manes don't knot easily but when using a flea comb you are pulling and ripping out their manes which will thin it out pretty bad for the show tables.
    You want to not rip and tug at their manes and skirts to much they have very sensitive skin as well.

    The rabbit is clearly not up to this task so please stop forcing them. The moment they dont even want to take their treat should be a sign for you that you should stop. Stop treating them like this even if you insist they are “show” rabbits. They should be treated nicely. I hate seeing this

  • @jayemontgomery8255

    My doe is like this! I've only ever given her treats and gentle handling but she just hates to be handled at all, so I only do it when necessary. Thank goodness my show buck is more tolerant! Made me laugh though - glad I'm not the only one with a sassy bunny.

    My husband spontaniusly bought a lion head rabbit and so I'm having to get my knowledge of how to groom her, our little Lolla is a beautiful girl,
    my husband, also bought a Holland Lop, her name is Brandy as she is a beautiful orange blond colour, so you said that all rabbits should be groomed,
    I guess I need to learn how to groom her as well. but I'm most concerned about Lolla, I groomed her last night with a cat comb and a baby brush just to get her used to it she is a very good natured little bunnie they are bother about 81/2 weeks old, so little Lolla will have to be an indoor rabbit as she will need alot of grooming I'm assuming.
    Her ears are a bit longer then your rabbit, but not much, would that disqualify her if i wanted her to be entered in a show, in the future?

      @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564  7 лет назад

      The ears on a lionhead must be no longer than 3.5" - any longer and they will be DQ'd from the show table

    Hi I got a rabbit from a woman who got her from a friend of yours at the Cumberland fair. Fleur DELIS is her mom and Jack is her dad. I love her LV04. Do you have more? I want a show buck to breed and show.

  • @hamburglerkosh2049

    Would a rabbit be DQ'd from a show if it is aggressive? My rabbit was adopted from the shelter and she is really aggressive to strangers to the touch

    • @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564
      @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564  7 лет назад +1

      Most likely. Judges do not like being bit. Also aggression can be a sign of fear. Not all rabbits want to show. It sounds like yours needs some extra time to get used to you and being handled before taking to a show. There would be new noises, smells etc that might cause stress for him. Good luck. They are a really fun breed 😊

    Do you have any tricks for cleaning slightly yellow feet on REWs before the show?

    • @Stylvestre
      @Stylvestre 8 лет назад

      vinegar diluted in water, wet a cloth with it and rub the paws gently

    • @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564
      @whisperingpinesmicrofarm1564  7 лет назад

      Tammy - I actually use a cucumber melon baby wipe but I also keep my show bunnies on wire and very clean cages - so very little yellowing - REWS and BEWS are harder to keep immaculately white for sure :-)

    You cover some good topics and I really want to watch your vids but my lord woman!!
    Pause and BREATHE!
    Slow down! You have plenty of time to say all the things you wanted to say if you actually stay on topic. You sound like you're trying to say the last two important sentences of a conversation as you're jumping onto a train that's already leaving the station... except you're doing that the entire length of the vid! You feel like you don't have enough time because you burn a lot of time talking about how you have no time and why you have no time. BREEATHE!
