One of the best games I've ever played as a kid. This game took some serious timing and skills. As a kid this game was a hard one. Man, that was 30 years ago....
I played it late compared to you, some time 20 years ago around 2003-2004. I still have fond memories of it.

Bionic Commando will go down as one of the most innovative games ever.
Picture this… a flea market with vendors selling Sega Saturns with import cart things, in the middle an eating place with arcade games. One of them is the arcade version of bionic commando. Its stuff like that that really makes life fun.
@@jayjohn9680 If I saw that in real life, I would probably crap myself. I’ve only ever played the ReArmed version of this game for XBLA, but I’ve always wanted to play the original version.

This was probably my favorite single series game growing up. Who remembers the first time they used their bionic arm? I spent probably the better part of an hour just swinging around from ledge to ledge.

What a sweet game. I only ever beat it once, and it took me forever. One of the few NES games with a truly satisfying ending.

I love the fact that the game is not told as a current story but instead as a story told by super joe himself about the player and his story during the war.Nostalgia...

No matter how realistic and great games can be today I couldn't be happier that I grew up with the Atari 2600 and NES and Genesis etc. it was magical.

This reminds me of a sleepover I had in 1992. a friend brought this game, we stayed up late playing this and Contra. it was an awesome time
Although loosely based on the arcade version, most people in America prefer this version because 1) it's part of their fond memories, and 2) they love seeing the controversial Hitler explosion.

The fact that the Nazis are called "Badds" is inherently hilarious.
Capcom had to remove all Nazi references in order to comply with Nintendo of America's standards.

Yes it did. I remember as a 12 year old seeing that and thinking "holy crap I will be 34 years old in 2010, that's so old"...maybe I would kill to be 12 again, but heck, I'd take 34 any day if you gave it to me!

I'm surprised they didnt censor hitler's head exploding in the final scene, considering how sensitive the nes was about violence back in the day, after all they did ban sweet home from making it stateside.

Last time I played this game, I was 11 years old and still living in Mexico. I didn't speak English, so I didn't know what to do at the very end when you have to shoot down the chopper with the bazooka. I never got to finish the game. I finally got some closure, LOL.

now this is the best game i ever played on nes or any system for that matter. this was such a realistic, spy movie style video game. it really felt like you were in an action movie with dangerous european criminals like dictators or something. and the game play was so fun and it didn't feel too hard to play good at it. and the graphics were advanced and imaginative for late '80s early '90s video games.
In Japanese or Family Computer version, the titled of this version is "Hitler no Fukatsu - Top Secret"
This game & Link Between Worlds are about the only two games I can think of with alternatives to jumping

Nostalgia at its finest. It used to take me about 2 hours to get through this with at least 6 or 7 continues. You did this in just a little over 1 hour and no continues. Heck, I'm trying to remember if you even died once, and I can't recall.
