Thomas, I have said it before and I say it again, your videos are so well put together. Your videos do your country proud. They are excellent. I too live in a beautiful part of the world, Scotland, and I have started making videos, albeit I am nowhere near as good as you. Perfect time of year to capture the Norwegian landscape, snow covered tops frames it beautifully. I had a fishing rod with me last time i was i Mode as well before when we drove the Atlantehavsveien. Your videos have this "film vibe" to it, really really good. Congrats! I have subscribed and I am looking forward to continuing to follow your Norwegian adventures.
Thank you so much sir😇👍🏻 really appreciate that. Motivates me alot to hear Feedback like that! The main reason i started this whole video path, is to motivate others to Get out there and make their own Adventures 👏🏻👏🏻🔥

Thanks! 😃 Glad you enjoyed it mate. Really appreciate the feedback. Norway is something else when it comes to motorcycle travel 👏🏻 See you on the road, stay safe 🇳🇴
Well, not anymore! I bought a new camera after this trip, that is water sealed! But my drone is not doing well in bad weather! I find it even more dramatic to film and make stuff in cloudy and light rain!
You are welcome Kim 👏🏻 Haha, reminds me of the bridge from Denmark to Sweden 2 years ago on my 690 enduro r... that was NO fun at all in proper wind. 🙈
Hi from NZ Thomas. A brilliant introduction......Reading the comments below reflects the quality and knowledge of your viewers. Like me they appreciate the enormous amount of time you spend setting up your shots. Then there is the quality of your shots being dead sharp and rock solid. We can all learn from you mate. Your drone work is top notch and your surroundings certainly lend themselves to dramatic cinematic vistas. You keep surprising me with your editing skill. Getting the right blend or balance of riding dialogue and scenery can be tricky. Then there is the music, your choice has been great in the videos I have watched so far. Beautifully put together. May I ask you what resolution you record in and export.
I have had photography as a hobby since i was 15, so coming from the photo world gives me alot for free when it comes to frame and compose the video part. Less is more is something i always try to keep in mind 👏🏻 and always respect the viewers time! Well, sometimes it is hard to remember all that stuff when you are out shooting for many days, so it can be tricky to Get the right blend in post. I tend to shoot in 4K 25fps for about everything (pal here in europe) and i export on a 4K 25fps timeline. The reason i shoot 4K is the extra flexibility in post. Digital zoom, and better framing if needed 👏🏻 great post mate, thank you for asking this questions. Cheers
@@tshansen Appreciate your reply. We have Pal in the Pacific region as well. I shoot my drone and maps in 4K for the same reasons you do but export 1080 25fps. Did a trip around the South Island over the Xmas season 6 months ago and ended up having to buy a couple more ssd's, 4K uses horrendous hd space. Once I finish editing the Sth Island footage I'll move completely over to 4K because as my technique skill and knowledge evolve its the next step. Like you say Thomas, less is more. Cheers.
@@kiwiadventurer the only problem with exports in 1080p is that the codec on RUclips kill’a the gopro footage! Search on vp09 codec. That is what you want.
@@tshansen I think 1080 still works fine as long as you have enough mbits. I dont know about gopro, but my sony records at 100mbit and I export at 1080 25mbit. RUclips gives me the vp09 codec. I found your videos from your davinci travel map vid... so I know that you know what youre doing ;)

What an intro, what a video, what a video image and what a Country to ride a motorcycle!! Norway is on my bucket list, the problem is every time I watch something about it, there's always a new place to visit and add to the route that I'm starting to think I might need 3 Months at least!! 😁Thomas, honestly, you should consider add Thomas Productions to your channel, AMAZING!! 👍👍
Hehehe, thank you so much for the nice words Nelio, and the continued love and support. Always nice to hear your feedback 👍🏻 Haha, you can spend a lifetime in Norway and not "see it all". Beautiful footage as always. The coffe filter I have started to "double dip it" :) No use for extra filter. I let it run through once, then just take the legs off and dip the whole thing in the coffee and up to drip again. Like a tea bag. Then I get Swede-strenght. #tipoftheday Really longing to get on the road now...

12 minutes and 24 seconds. I don’t even want to guess how many hours you have poured into filming and editing this film. It is appreciated buddy. Take care, all the best from Uncle Steve 🇬🇧✌️
Hahaha 🤣👏🏻 Well, who counts anyway 🙈 Sure, it takes some time, but for me it is such a experience to advance in my video "game" and be able to share one of my biggest passion. When I go for a "video" ride, it add's so much more to the whole motorcycle travel and experience. I take the time and enjoy much more of the scenic stuff and ride at a much slower pace. Thank you for the feedback and support Uncle Steve 🤣 it is highly appreciated 🔥

Beautiful video as always 😊 great B-roll and the background music adds to the mood (always a pain to find suitable music 🤪). Next time you better drop by, for a coffee or quick service, you more or less drove right past me and my garage 😁 Loved your last clip, cliffhanger ending? 😮
Thank you mate 😇 Yeah, finding the "right" music is by far the worst part, and the most time consuming. I'm heading up North in a couple of weeks, heading for Lofoten... I will make sure to stop in the area if it is ok then? 👍🏻 Hehe, maybe a cliffhanger or not, I can't tell (yet) haha 🤣
@@tshansen hahaha, of course you cannot tell, it will ruin the whole cliffhanger 😁 Absolutely, would be fun to meet next time you drive by. I need to take a closer look at your bike, and you need at least one stop before Lofoten anyway 😛 However, I will be traveling the oposit way, to Bergen, around that time ... we have to align our schedules 🤔

Haha, not cheating... when they don't know? I'm trying the axe/hatchet and smaller knife this season. It is much more usable when chopping up big log's of driftwood for fires and dry wood I find. The big Sami is outperformed I'm sad to say. This knife I bought from the talented Saku Honkilahti instagram.com/sakuhonkilahti/
Nice video. How do you set up your remote video clips, I mean drive-byes? You just put your camera to record and ride away and then again towards the camera? Does it create a awful long clips?
Hello mate, thank you 👏🏻 Well, I just stick it up on a tripod or a joby gorilla pod and hit record, drive away and back again. It generates clip from 1 to 3 minutes. No real problem actually, and I have three 128gb memory cards just in case I run out of storage (never been a issue)
Absolutely beautiful area. As a reference, what month were you there? I’ve never lived so far north. I’m seeing the snow around. Was it cold riding. I’ve been riding in as low as -7°C and that was tough. I try not riding in anything below 3°C. Ride safe and have fun. 🇺🇸
Hello Darryl, your name reminds me of a joke Tommy Tiernan used to tell 🤣👏🏻 I was riding on this trip in the middle of may. The temp ranged from 2 degrees celcius to 18 degrees. With that said, it was a cold may month this year. Normally we have a little bit warmer weather this time a year. Thank you sir, keep rocking mate. Cheers
Impressively good, again! You inspire to plan for trips to get out there. The first thing I check when you have released a new movie is, is there enough time for one or two beers? You show our country from the best side, be proud! 🇳🇴 ..hehe .. did you eat the same amount of bacon for breakfast or were there only eggs left?😅
Thank you Stian, nothing inspire and motivate me more than to hear other get inspired by my videos, seek for their own adventures and get out there. Haha, how long do you use to consume one beer 🤣 Yes, I sliced the bacon pack in half, so there was the same amount of bacon In the morning. Have you ever heard someone say, there is enough bacon? 🤣

Jeg har nesten ikke fått kjørt noe grus, å på bløtt, gjørmete underlag er de ikke spesielt god. Men det hadde jeg ikke forventet av de heller. You do indeed have great videos. But one thing I always think about is: it must be such a pain in the a** to get off the bike, place the camera somewhere and then ride all the way back the same road you came only to capture 5 seconds of 2nd person perspective footage. Doesn’t that take the fun out of riding motorcycles when you have to think about that stuff all the time?
Hahaha.... well, where to start 🤣🔥 for me, alot of the motorcycle experience is to enjoy the trip, capture it and be able to share it. This is one of my biggest passion (video and photo) so I don't see it as a pain in the ass, I'm seeing a great composition, angle, view or what ever. It is not for everyone, and I do ride alone, only for myself sometimes without camera just to ride and just to enjoy the riding. 👍🏻 So no! it add's way more than it takes away (for my experience)
@@tshansen great to hear! I worry about my motorcycle riding friends when all I see is people who spend too much time worrying about filming instead of just enjoying riding. Your videos have this "film vibe" to it, really really good. Congrats! I have subscribed and I am looking forward to continuing to follow your Norwegian adventures.
Thank you so much sir😇👍🏻 really appreciate that. Motivates me alot to hear Feedback like that! The main reason i started this whole video path, is to motivate others to Get out there and make their own Adventures 👏🏻👏🏻🔥
hi THOMAS. this is the best video of you i have seen, i had severall trips in skandinavia. but i llike norway the best.m i am driving a hd custom build 1986 .no high tech. see you on the road.
Thanks! 😃 Glad you enjoyed it mate. Really appreciate the feedback. Norway is something else when it comes to motorcycle travel 👏🏻 See you on the road, stay safe 🇳🇴
World-class photos, but you are very dependent on good and clear sunshine, which can be in short supply on holiday in Norway.
Well, not anymore! I bought a new camera after this trip, that is water sealed! But my drone is not doing well in bad weather! I find it even more dramatic to film and make stuff in cloudy and light rain!
👍thanks for the video , beutyfull Road but not a place to be on my small crf in a storm 🤣 we would blow away like a feather
You are welcome Kim 👏🏻 Haha, reminds me of the bridge from Denmark to Sweden 2 years ago on my 690 enduro r... that was NO fun at all in proper wind. 🙈
@@tshansen no i know the feeling 2 weeks ago a trip to Jylland and Fyn 🙄
@@kimkelberg hahaha 🤣🤣🔥
Another great movie Thomas, nicely edited as usual 👌🏼
Thank you Stian 👏🏻🔥 Appreciate it
Hi from NZ Thomas.
@@tshansen Thanks Thomas. I'll study that.
Thanks for a good video.Fantastic photage. Greetings from Bergen.
Thank you so much Sir 👌 glad to hear you liked it. You live in Bergen as well? Cheers 🍻
@@tshansen Hei, nei jeg bare oppeholder meg der i 8 dager i forkant av jobben offshore. Fantastisk by. Fikk med meg både sherpa trappene opp til Ulriken og over vidda. Dagen etter ble det Stolzen og Rundemanen.
So you just got to keep adding to the bucket list and be happy with what you can cover. Maybe I should start a business with tshansen or Thomas productions 🔥🎥 Cheers
@@tshansen yes, I think you should really consider it Thomas, either with Norway's Tourism Office to promote your Country as an awesome riding destination or any local motorcycle clubs. Your editing skills and amazing videos should not be only for RUclips, you deserve a bigger audience and far more recognition!! 👍
Great drone shots!
Thank you 👍🏻🔥
Amazing stupendous film making from a motorbiker! Much love from Bangalore, India.
Thank you 👏🏻 So glad to hear you enjoyed it. 🔥
Thank you so much mate 👏🏻 That was a good tip, because the filter it self let water trough to fast in my opinion. Hmm... this I have to try. Thank you 😃 You and me both, I really looking forward to my next adventure. Just two more weeks 🔥
Great as always mate ☕
Thank you Toby 🔥 Cheers
Beautiful beautiful landscape, Atlanterhavsveien is still on my bucket list. We have been really close a couple of times 😀
Make sure to check out all the little roads and "rorbuer" in the area as well. Really nice place to visit. Cheers Jonas 🔥
@@tshansen Yes I will 👍
12 minutes and 24 seconds.

Thank you Kenneth 🔥👏🏻 Haha, I take that as a huge compliment. I try to focus more on the storytelling while you tell the store more from a personal perspective. Hard to have the best from both worlds, but hey, we should make something together again one day. Damn I wish I was with you guys on your last trip 👏🏻
Beautiful video as always 😊 great B-roll and the background music adds to the mood (always a pain to find suitable music 🤪).
Next time you better drop by, for a coffee or quick service, you more or less drove right past me and my garage 😁
Loved your last clip, cliffhanger ending?
@@tshansen hahaha, of course you cannot tell, it will ruin the whole cliffhanger 😁
Absolutely, would be fun to meet next time you drive by. I need to take a closer look at your bike, and you need at least one stop before Lofoten anyway 😛 However, I will be traveling the oposit way, to Bergen, around that time ... we have to align our schedules 🤔
@@kihestad you are welcome to look at is as much as you want, but leave the spanners behind 🤣🔥

Cheating on knivsmed Strømeng eeh... Where did you get the puukko?
Amazing footage as always!
No real problem actually, and I have three 128gb memory cards just in case I run out of storage (never been a issue)
what gloves do you use? Klim Dakar pro? Thanks for help me 😉
In this video i use the KLIM Inversion Pro gloves. 🔥
You could have taken an alternate route, added 20-30 minutes to your trip. And gotten a nice little gravel loop
Ooohhh, did not know about any gravel loop on that area?
@@tshansen not that big, but it’s there, you also get to ride through this narrow little road by some farms
Great episode. How do you find the vindskyd area - is there an App for Norway?
This one was just dumb luck 🙈👏🏻 saw a gravel road i would like to explore. And found this place 👍🏻 no, there is no app for it in Norway. Some are located on a Google map but not everyone
@@tshansen Thanks. It was worth a shot 😉
@@Kurkess hahaha indeed! Wish we had a app like Denmark has! But i have never heard of it in Norway! There are not many shelters in Norway like you see in denmark and sweden
@@tshansen I've never seen one in the two motorcycle trips I've been on to Norway. I do change between tent, airbnb and hotel depending on weather when riding 😁 So there's that.
Superb film, stunning scenery shame about the lead character but then you can't have everything eh! 😉
Hahaha, yeah! You put makeup on that pig and tell him to stand in frame 🤣 Cheers mate 🤣👏🏻
What cameras do you use for video shooting?
Sony a6400 (main) gopro hero 7 (riding) Mavic air 2 (drone) 🔥👍🏻
Great Video ✌🏼which knife do you use?
It is a hand made puukko knife from Saku, a guy from Finland makes them. Link to his Instagram in the description on this video 👏🏻🔥
How do you find the AS Baltic Hybrid Jacket, is it reasonably warm and shower proof ?
Hello Ian... well, I find it fantastic to be honest. It is just warm enough to add some extra comfort, but it is a primaloft jacket, so it is not water or shower proof!

How many km are on your bike now?
About 23.000km i think 👍🏻
I rarely ride without my gopro. I always want to film everything but I get tired of myself and long for those first few years I rode without any gopro at all. Just me and the bike. Those were the days!
@@simplyriding1199 I have learn the hard way, and have worked in a habit of doing one thing, and do it good instead of doing alot of things 10%. So when I ride to shoot video, that is my focus, along with the scenic stuff and different places to experience. When I'm out riding just for me, and my buddy's, the camera stays behind and I just enjoy the trip, road, surface, speed and technique. Or else you loose yourself in the middle without any plan or focus (IMO)
@@tshansen yes you're right about that. You definitely live in the right country to capture some of the world's most astonishingly and most breathtaking landscapes in the world. By the way: how often do you ride? I heard in a previous video you have a kid. I have two kids and a full-time job. I'm lucky if I can squeeze in one ride a week
