I found this info online: "Heavy metal band Bad Wolves have gifted a donation of £250,000 to the family of the late Dolores O'Riordan - the proceeds from their cover of The Cranberries song "Zombie". "
When bad wolves got the call that she had passed they weren't going to release the song. It was her children that said "mom loved this cover so much they have to release it for her".
i loved the way they got an actress to embody delores, putting her behind the glass, so close but unable to be touched she was there in spirit and influence, but not in body - and to get her write her date of death on the glass really hit me in the feels
I’m shocked you hadn’t heard this one before, when it was released the world went nuts over it. I think it even hit #1 on the charts and has been played all over the radio, tv commercials, and sporting events. This is hands down one of my all-time favorite cover songs. I remember when the original came out and have loved it ever since. I knew one day someone would pry a 10 out of you! 😆

Beside the cover is so powerful and beautiful, i like that they put in a video lady in gold that she represent Dolores from original video. The theme where she paints the glass shows Dolores is there but not reachable as she died. Trully greatsong and great final goodbye to Dolores.
I didn't know that this cover existed until a few days ago. I agree with your analysis especially that the guitar solo could have been a bit longer. And it has immediately gone close to the top of my all time favorite covers. Wow, this was GREAT!~ And what a great gesture for the band to raise money for her family with this release. The vocals kind of remind me of Joakim Brodén of Sabaton.
Hey DH... I'm not sure if you saw it, you were focused on the solo. Not only did they have all the information at the beginning, if you'll notice at the end of the solo when the woman is smearing the paint on the glass, they actually put Delores date of passing for a brief moment. @13:19 . That's when I lost it 😢!
I saw the date, it just didn't resonate with me until after I was done filming when it hit me "Oh wait, that was they day she passed away". Went back and rewatched it again, and yeah it was a very powerful moment.
Wow. And damn. I know this cover has been around for years, obviously, and that there are numerous reactions to it on here. But until now I’ve avoided them. Mainly because the original is so dear to me, and such a heavy type of lament of deadly violence. Even without my partial Irish heritage, I can find so much tragedy in the story of young children being killed by bombs. Well, of course I can- that’s always horrific. But I think I assumed, based on the thumbnails I kept seeing, that the band featured another female lead vocalist, trying to follow in Dolores’ footsteps. And I had no desire at all to hear an attempt like that. So I’m actually very glad that a male singer fronts the band. Trying to emulate Dolores would almost surely fall very flat in my view. But I have to hand it to this group, because as far as I’m concerned they pulled it off.

You crack me up sometimes, too! Im so glad you enjoyed this video and im so very glad you understood what they meant when they released this cover. Im a subscriber for life. THANK YOU, DAVID!!!!!!
Bad Wolves is pretty badass, Tommy Vext parted ways with them and they have a new singer, Tommy is releasing solo material now and filled in for Ivan for some Five Finger Death Punch concerts in the past.
A 10!!!!🎉🎉🎉 This song is so beautiful. I love how the bad changed some words to fit the changes in warfare. It wasn't Dolores in the video. They had to use a model because of Dolores' death. It did taje the bad some time to regroup once she came out dressed as Dolores.

A "10", eh?! To a cover song, no less! Well, it WAS Jesus Christ's request, after all! I must confess a little surprise at that score going to this production. You're out of head room, now...perfection has been attained!...hehehe... Perhaps, after reconsideration, you'll deflate that excited score a tad to 9.9...who knows? Great show in any case, Dave!

Hey David!!! Love Tommy. You should hear his cover of Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball. H-E-A-V-Y And in his time with Bad Wolves, you should hear No Masters🤘🤘🤘🤘
Did you hear the very needed metal covers of Thunder Rolls from Garth Brooks? All That Remains did their own take on it, and State of Mine did a more true to original but rock cover.
Pretty good cover, but I hate that they changed the lyrics, makes it about generic war instead of the Irish unrest of the times. The video is a nice tribute, The woman in gold is supposed to represent Dolores and at some point towards the end she writes the date of her death in the gold painted glass wall.
The story behind this cover is very sad. She was going to go and record this cover with Bad Wolves. And died just either on her way there or day before. Something like that.
She was at the hotel she went to in order to perform the recording and when she didn’t show up at the studio, they asked the concierge to perform a welfare check and they found her body.

Something about this cover I absolutely hate - it doesn't do the original any kind of justice. I turn the radio off whenever I hear it. I think it's the lyric changes they make. Just like that cover of "Boys of Summer" - changing the Dead Head sticker to a Black Flag... Just wrong on so many levels.

GREATEST cover I have ever heard. Bad Wolves nailed this in every way possible. Thanks so much for playing this epic cover of such an iconic song.
This is why I recommend this cover cuz of your past reactions u wanted a true metal cover and I knew this was the one you were looking for
Man the goosebumps I get when I hear this cover. Imagine what it would have sounded like with Delores

I read that when "the Golden Girl " first sppeared yhat the band stopped. It took them some time to regroup to finish filming the video.
