Excellent! Thanks, Grant. One super minor note. Jonathan Nikitas helped me with the SS silhouettes. Matt White did the cover art and art for the defenders. When Borotra moved, he was moving from one location to a different one, so you can't swap positions (you can only do that within a location). And you can't recover a guy that acted in the same round. But those are very minor details. Thanks so much for the awesome explanation and walkthrough. Your defense rolls against the artillery and panzerfaust were unbelievable!
Thanks David. As simple as the rules are, and as well described as they are, I still seem to make mistakes in the heat of the moment. One day I’ll get all the rules right. Great game though that I have really enjoyed just as much as Pavlov’s House. Can’t wait for the next one already! Keep up the great work.
Hey Grant... was really surprised to see DVG have another game out so soon after "Warfighter Modern" ... the new expansions. ALSO... thank you for the in-depth play through. I'm leaning towards buying the game, which puts my intentions of buying Tiger Leader/Sherman Leader in a little bit of peril, at the moment. ** I couldn't help but see some real similarities to "Keep Up The Fire" from Lock-N-Load (????) Games... especially with the changing of positions within the defenders area. It looks like a very strong game, and I'll check it out on Kickstarter... Saint Dan has been taking all my free and Christmas money for some time now... I mean bagging the entire "Warfighter WWII, plus Korea" set me back $750.00. It looks like another amazing game from DVG... keep up the great reviews.
Jim, this is a bit of an odd situation. I designed Castle Itter before Pavlov's House, but through an odd series of events, Pavlov's House was published first. With the success of Pavlov's House, Dan asked if I had another design ready - thus, Castle Itter is on Kickstarter now! :)
Yes. Quite a motley crew. The French were prisoners held there by the Germans, there was an Austrian resistance fighter as well along with an SS defector.
Wait a minute. When you rolled to place the mortar you only rolled one dice (4) . Why didn’t you roll 2 dice ? , can’t the mortar be placed in any of the eleven starting positions ?
@@ThePlayersAid ,Watch it again , you didn’t roll two dice to place the mortar as you should have , you only rolled one then placed the mortar in starting position 4 ! . WRONG !

Loved Pavlov's House, so I appreciate you digging into this.
Thank you. I'm sold

You did great! You got almost everything down, and explained it clearly. I should have prepared reference sheets with the prototype! Doh!

I know that I'm late to the the party, but shouldn't you roll 2d6 to determine the location? Location numbers range from "2" to "12".
Thanks Grant, excellent look at the game and it looks really cool. The defending force is made up of US, French, and German units? Thanks again.

roll 1d6 to determine which combat position in the color they were placed they will attempt to Disrupt
You roll 2d6 to place but then do 1d6 to see which combat position it attacks. That’s why I rolled 1d6.

Hey that is a nice dice tray. Who is making them? Where to buy it?
I got it for free at Gen Con from Chip Theory Games.
