First Devon and Cornwall Volvo Olympian K803 ORL - Is this the same type of engine?

The jury is out, is the new engine inserted into K803 ORL the same type as the original? The original blew up a few months ago while on a blast along the A38, and has surprisingly been fitted with this mystery new engine. The turbo and gearbox are the same, which makes it even harder to tell if it is a new one or not. Possibly a trip on the bus will reveal all but for now, its a bit of a guessing game

you can bet its under powered i think the new one possibly euro 3 and previous one may have been euro 2 or something like that to be honest from memory i dont even think the first one was the original.

Original engine gardner 6LXCT
New engine sounds like a horrid renault truck engine as found in the B9TL. Voith gearboxes are very unusual with this engine as they're usually fitted with ZF Ecolife Gearboxes. Maybe the B9TL is not yet old enogh to be transferred to "Worst Western National," yet.
