Havent played the 530, but as someone who did play the 525’s for 1 yr and then switched into the 230’s…there is zero comparison, 230’s are superior in every way. Any player would benefit from playing the 230’s over the 530’s. 230’s are super easy to hit and if distance is an issue you can just order the power spec version.
I have had the i230s for a year now. I love them but man... if you hit them slightly high on the face the shot just goes dead. Happens to me mostly in the rough or fluff shots. I can see where the grass is in the grooves after and it is really not that high on face either.
Playing Mizuno 221 blades I was expecting the i230 to be more appealing but…..the i530 is a much better looking iron and the distance advantage is fantastic. A real competitor to the Mizuno 245
For comparison should it be I230 6 Iron vs. the I530 7 iron? or maybe the I-530 8 iron? vs the I-230 7 iron? I am just asking. I think the loft are similar and would give better representation of what you are trying to compare. Right now, you have two irons that say 7 Irons, but the lofts are different, and you are getting much different results.
Is the i230 playing like a i530 8 iron with loft . Be interested what you hit i530 8 iron , spin , land angle . Or is i230 better club for you hitting all the right windows
Great comparison, Matthew! Really appreciated the clear breakdown between the Ping i530 and i230. Your detailed analysis on speed, spin, and overall performance helped clarify the differences and what each model offers. I'm leaning towards the i230 for its control and tighter dispersion, which matches my playing style better. Thanks for making the decision easier with your insightful review! Looking forward to more of your golf equipment analyses. 👍🏌♂

Great to hear you love them so much, awesome irons 🔥

That’s great feedback and really interesting 👍🏻

For sure, i530’s look amazing and have so much speed!

Fair point, although important to understand the lofts

i230 better overall and helps with gapping at the lower end of the bag
Thanks for video . Please turn off loop background music
Noted
Might be better or truer comparison if both clubs were same loft..snd then see how the numbers compare
Possibly - although it’s important to understand the lofts, plus we only get 7 iron demo’s 😂
Possibly but good to know the lofts
Ping I e1 better than both
Why compare clubs with different lofts and then talk about spin and distance?
To educate the viewer
Good review but loose the horrible background music please.
Surely the dispersion of the i530 is a product of the swings you made with it, not the club.
Yes the human element is a big factor Roy
