"Every time I watch these, I don't wanna drive anymore." You are not alone. It is beyond my knowledge on how most of the people out on the road today are allowed to be on the road. Who taught them to drive and how did they somehow pass their driving tests with such crap driving? We'll never know, but as long as you're the one paying attention, you can at the very least, try to avoid and prevent such crashes from happening. Of course, sometimes no amount of safe driving will stop it, but I think you get the idea.
Tbh American driving tests are scuffed. They test you for like five to ten minutes and as long as you manage to do it your good. Then the written test at least in my state you can take online and as long as you get 80% your good. Most people are taught by their parents or relatives too so if the person teaching has bad driving habits and doesn’t know or remember basic defensive driving then that driving kind of continues onto the person they’re teaching. I’m not defending it btw it’s stupid but that’s how I see. But yeah this kind of driving in videos just basically reassures me as to why I only drive to work and the store and just stay home mostly. I’m not getting into an accident over some stupid shit.
@@Sparkcell275 your not wrong, I learned through watching the people who drove me and mostly taught myself
@@artemis3829 I didn’t say this but it did cross my mind. You know growing up we watch everything so some of that would naturally carry over into a person’s driving.
@@Sparkcell275 here in Australia, it's no different. All States & Territories are the same when it comes to driving tests. Aussie drivers are not taught properly how to drive - they are taught how to pass a test that is (& always has been) criminally inadequate. To steer a car around a block without hitting anyone or anything. It's only after he/she actually gets their license that they gain experience in skills such as overtaking, driving at freeway/highway speeds, or driving at night and/or in wet conditions. All too often, their very first error also turns out to be their last... :/
Contrast that to how well Finland's drivers are taught to drive. Many kids join banger racing clubs as soon as they are tall enough to see over the steering wheel/use the pedals (usually late primary/early high school age) and gain their driving experience there. Their testing system is far more thorough (& far more expensive) than here in AU. Most, if not all, of the great motorsport drivers (esp. rally drivers) from Finland learned to drive this way.

16:00 Agreed. Every time I watch these it makes me deathly afraid of other people on the road.

@4:37 Theo is right as my Dad says defensive driving is best just let them go and don’t get involved else your car will end up damaged not worth it.
11:07
*Theo, you currently own a BMW that you're turning into a "Drift Missile".*
*You've also previously owned a BMW with a Toyota badge on it.*
I've visited the states the other year and sixteen wheelers actually do have speed limits on the motorways--signs often advise they stick to the rightmost lane in California with their speed limits set to ~55mph, I think.
Of course, none of them followed that speed limit. In my entire month there, all of those truckers were on the passing lane and going upwards of 70.
Lol very true. I live in the states, can confirm.
Actually Cali is a special exception for truck speed limits. They're the only state with a 55 mph statewide truck limit. No truck driver likes driving in Cali because of all the traffic, that 55 mph limit, and their strict tandem laws. The rest of the country, with the exception of a few states like Indiana, just has the same speed limit for trucks as for any passenger vehicle. It's a very large country with large stretches of road with a lot of stuff being hauled; chilling at 65-70 mph on the Interstate is no big deal in a truck and the Interstate system is designed fully with trucks in mind.
@@adafrost6276 That makes sense. From my time there, the traffic was incredibly ridiculous and I witnessed so many moments where I've been tempted to pull over and think to myself, "How in the hell did they earn their license?"
To be fair, it was mostly cases of cutting people off, or suddenly swapping lanes without signalling, or tailgating. Nothing so severe, but it blew my away in the difference in traffic there than home.
@@adafrost6276 I believe Michigan also has a statewide speed limit for trucks as well. At least I remember the highways did when I lived there 7ish years ago.
@@Flat_6 I live in Detroit and I take the freeway almost every time I'm out, usually to the next city over. The limit for trucks is 55
6:30 "do Americans understand what neutral does?" as an American with a manual Mustang that hasn't binned it yet, I can assure you some of us do but most probably don't
What fucking American says "binned"? 🙄

Also Theo: 10:15
7:29 That’s not America, that’s Canada. That’s why it looks “Posh”
In the states we have to hold to the limits of everyone else, and actually often have our trucks limited even lower beyond that if we're a company driver.
these are just so fun to watch i love the fact this series is back, thanks Theo
In the USandA you are supposed to move over to the opposite lane if an emergency vehicle is on the shoulder of a multi lane roadway. That way those situations don't occur. Also there isn't a federal lower speed limit for trucks but many states have separate lower speed limits for them on interstates.
10:48
“I like living, it’s kind of nice”
Can’t relate
4:56 There are speed limits for trucks here in the states. But most max out at 65 mph. Their speed limit is no different than anyone else’s on the said road.
They usually hit around 80 with a full load. They aren't that slow

14:52 the side of the street of the car filming had the right of way from the green light, so the mustang stopping was the proper thing to do. They did it poorly, but the cars that went before were the ones who messed up
I'd assume the light was messed up somehow cause it's rare for like 5 people to just go in an unprotected left turn
You better not end this series
In Canada I often get passed over on the highway by trucks that go way over the limit of a 100km/h it’s so scary!!

*Jeep? Have you seen the DUB-ness of the guy on the right?*
@8:46 typical Holden drivers 😂😂😂
Theo, semi trucks do have speed limits here in America. All trucks follow the same procedures like regular passenger vehicles, unless a sign shows otherwise. And during the officer nearly pulling out, the person should've either slowed down or got over to the other lane and the officer should've seen the other car and sped up.
There’s no speed limits for trucks but most have to be governed relatively low. I work at Penske in the states and all the trucks we own or have contracts with we have governed at 74mph
Theo got that Gordon Ramsey “what are you doing” line perfectly good
5:39 that's what I call a "burnout"
15:31 Me on gta when I have to many cops around me😂
5:02 there actually is a speed limit for trucks in the states.
In the US most trucks have a speed limiter from the company that owns them, it’s set to 65mph, or over 100kph

But is Theo's BMW still road legal? Last video I saw of his BMW was that video he did about drift practicing. Isn't the BMW being turned from a road car into a proper drift car? He's still got the Mini, the Evo and the GT-R to do his daily driving stuff.

thats completely different
It's like taking a right turn, police officers have to yield or everyone has to turn to the next lane

2:10 in many American states there's a move over law were if a vehicle has flashing lights on the shoulder you move over to get out of the adjacent lane.
It’s move over OR slow down. That truck driver forgot the slow down part of the law.

We do not have very many cameras on lights. The cameras that are on lights are meant for firefighter and police use for the vehicles to get to the emergency in a timely manner. The light turns green for police and fire that have their lights going. They aren't used for traffic tickets or anything usually.

truck speed limits in the us are the same as the cars in the us, on the highway, trucks are limited to 70mph, while cars are allowed to do up to 85, and in the city, they are limited to whatever that speed is

There is a speed limit for trucks in the state and that speed is slow enough to where you don’t tip over and fast enough to scare everyone around you…

American trucks have either the speed limit of the road like everyone else or they’re regulated at 65 with a governor
