Excellent! I received the 1996 Windows version of this game back in 2000, and I remember playing it on Windows 95 and Windows XP Home Edition PCs back in the early 2000s. It was one of my favorite Reader Rabbit games. This video of this Macintosh version brings back memories, so thanks for working on it!
Nope! This is the real deal! You're looking at footage recorded off an authentic Power Macintosh 7600! That said, there are two well-known classic Macintosh emulators -- Basilisk II and Sheepshaver. The former emulates Motorola 68k based Macs and the latter emulates PowerPC based ones.
@@ragread Thank you! I have a sizable retro computer collection. The Macintosh computers from the time use a proprietary video port but it's compatible with VGA so a passive adapter can be used, which is what I do. That output then goes into a splitter, one end goes to a CRT monitor while the other goes to a VGA-to-HDMI converter box, with the audio being split a similar way and also going into that. The HDMI output then goes into my Elgato 4K 60 capture card (it's internal) and I use the included software for recording. Yes, it's a lot, but after 12 years of doing this it's gotten really important to me to get the best possible quality I can off authentic hardware.

I don't know if you ever knew this about Reader Rabbit, but long ago, there was a cassette tape released that I happen to own.
I kinda recognize this from the DOS pc we had! :o
This game rocked when I was a kid. OMG, I'm experiencing a nostalgia attack.
Uh-oh! Here comes Nostalgia tears from users.
Interesting as always.

You have a classic Mac OS virtual machine program? If so, what’s it called?

@@ragread Yep, the converter has an audio jack on it. Quite convenient since I don't have to worry about audio syncing.
Interesting.
