Can't go wrong with Taylor! I have grown to appreciate her as an artist, songwriter and person. I appreciate people giving this talented lady a chance. Some of her songs are just for the fun of having a good time but most of them provide a huge amount of insight and almost poetry put to music. She is definitely talented! Thanks for going down this path!

6:32 not sure if someone has answered this question but she has actually been in a few movies. She’s been in movies such as The Lorax, Cats, The Giver, Amsterdam, and Valentine’s Day!

This one she wrote because people say she dates too much so she decided to lean into it.
Try Taylor’s. “The man.” Next. It’s fire. You will love it

I DO know the lyrics, but I still often hear "Starbucks Lovers" 😂😂
And yes, she's had some acting roles in some movies and series. 😉
In general: Her music videos are amazing and fun and worth watching. But what really sets her apart from other artists are her live performances. A good place to start are the Reputation Tour clips ("Intro + Ready for it" is the beginning).
Added: You said, you like lyrics. In that case All Too Well - the short film (which she also directed) should be exactly your thing. 😉
    Greetings from Austria. 😉

You should to her live performances, and her AMAS performance when she sings her old songs, From Reputation Live Performances like Ready for it, I did Something Bad, Don't Blame Me, etc. I love her music so much and how much she love her fans so much, and how she cares for them❤

Hi, I'm a new subscriber and super excited to follow you on your Taylor journey! I love Blank Space because she wrote it as a response to the media saying she was boy crazy and dating too many guys and treating them poorly. She was like "this is an interesting character they're writing about. it's not actually me, but I can use this." I love her mind. And I agree the music video is like a movie! All of her music videos feel that way to me, and she more recently has been directing her own MVs too!
If you like lyricism, I highly highly highly recommend her Folklore and Evermore albums. She wrote them during the pandemic lockdowns, and she won Album of the Year for Folklore. They're largely songs based on fictional characters or from other people's perspectives, but her own experiences inform them too, and they're all so so deep and relatable. Try the Cardigan music video, it's visually stunning!
I also recommend her live performances from the Reputation tour, especially I Did Something Bad and Don't Blame Me. And her Look What You Made Me Do music video from that album. Reputation was her comeback album after all the Kim and Kanye drama, if you're familiar with that, and it's absolutely amazing especially live.

Hey Carmen! Wow. Another person who hasn't listened to Taylor's discography. Amazing 😮. She's very creative. Such a visionary for sure. She'll have an idea and then create a whole world out of it. It's the details that stick out.
I would suggest you start from the beginning. Her discography is very cohesive. It's basically her journey as a person and as an artist. She started off very young. I believe she began writing when she was being bullied in school. Her writing is her way of escaping the "noise" that goes on in her life. Her piano and her guitar are always at her side when inspiration comes. She does have a separate phone to record her ideas. And there are videos where she shares those ideas and how the songs came to be.
Think of the albums as chapters in her life. It's better to follow her story til you reach the current time as opposed to reacting to different songs and being confused by what's going on. Things will click and fall into place. So please, start from the very beginning. Pretty please! 🙏 ❤

Yes, Taylor has acted before in movies and a crime show. When she was a preteen she did musical theater. Taylor's music was sold out from under her, she wanted to buy her 6 albums, and the record label owned them. Scott Borchetta offered her that for every new album she would get one old album back, which would have tied her to him for a very long time, she said no deal. When her 13-year contract was up she left Big Machine, then Scott sold the label and Taylor's music with it to Scooter Braun for $300 million. And that is why she is re-recording them to reclaim her music and they are called Taylor's Versions.

    SOMEONE CALL JAMIE!
There's no right way to go thru the vast discography, other than to do your best to make sure to listen to the "Taylor's Version" whenver possible.
Most of her albums are no-skip for me, but what made me appreciate Taylor the most is her live performances.
Check out "Better Man" performed live at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. Its on RUclips somewhere.

Wow! I’m so happy! Aside from being a K-pop fan I’m also a swiftie! I agree her music videos are very cinematic.
Taylor has 10 albums, and number 11 is coming in April. She also has 4 re-recorded albums.
The re-recorded blank space doesn’t sound like Starbucks lovers anymore lol!😆
As for acting, she’s acted in a few films and appeared on tv shows.
It may be good to start from her latest album and re-recorded albums since the main difference between the Taylor’s version album and the originals is her voice along with several vault tracks that were written but not released at that time.
One of my favorite performances of hers is a medley of folklore songs she played at the 63rd Grammys.
Have fun and looking forward to embarking on a new journey with you!

Hi Carmen! I’ve been following you for a long time with your Pentatonix reactions but I’m a huge Swiftie too. Of course she can’t sing like PTX (very few can!) but her talents are just as phenomenal: she’s a master lyricist who writes all her own songs, she has been honing her craft since she was 12 years old (she’s 34 now) and is a mesmerizing live performer, she’s put out 10 original albums and 4 re-recordings (she has 2 left to re-record) that are all an incredibly varied, she’s the only person to ever win 4 album of the year at the Grammys, she’s a huge philanthropist and truly the kindest person. I’m excited for you to learn more about her. While songs like Blank Space are clever mega hits and fun, her real jewels are the non-radio hits. I recommend Don’t Blame Me from the Reputation tour and then Cornelia Street live to get a taste of her wildly different types of art.

This video showcases a couple of things I love about Swift (in addition to her ability to write a hell of a fun, catchy song).
It demonstrates how meticulous she is with everything she does. For example, when she’s laying down eating the candy heart. She’s literally a “heart eater”. 😉
Even her “pure pop” songs often have very clever lyrics. For example, in this one, when she says “I can make all the tables turn”, that one line can be interpreted three different ways.
    1) She’s turning the tables on the media perception of her by embracing it, turning it into art and throwing it back. 2) She’s turning the tables on the boyfriend in the song. 3) She can “make all the tables turn” in terms of actual turn tables/record players. 😊

Hello. I enjoyed your reaction. 😊
Swift’s discography is so broad, in terms of style, there are any number of places you could jump in.
A lot of people seem to enjoy jumping in with these three performances from the Reputation Tour. They’re fun songs and they showcase Swift’s talent as a performer:
    Intro/Ready For It
    I Did Something Bad
    Don’t Blame Me
All three are worth your time but, if I were just going to pick one for the moment, I would say go with Don’t Blame Me.
    Enjoy!

Thanks for reacting to this awesome Taylor video. Happy that you enjoyed it. Taylor has a large body of work and she covers many different genres. It would be best to randomly choose from suggestions since you are new to Taylor. Don't just start at the beginning. She started out as a teenage country singer/songwriter. She was always good but it would be better to react randomly as you start the journey down this amazing rabbit hole.

Nice job! I’ve subscribed and am looking forward to seeing you do more Tswift videos. As a swiftie, I’m often surprised by how many people don’t realize that Taylor’s music ranges over several styles and genres (pop, country, folk, alt, indie, rock…).
Her live performances and music videos are both fantastic. I would suggest that, ideally, you should plan on doing a combination of music video and live performance for each TSwift song whenever both exist. Some of the best videos might not have subtitles, so you might have to bring the lyrics up on your phone and/or read them in advance.
I suggest focusing on some fan favorites to start with (which tend to not be her biggest radio hits). Eventually, you might want to go through her entire discography in historical order (I did that about a year ago.)
Here are some classic examples of fan favs:
Don't Blame Me - Taylor Swift • Reputation Tour
    ruclips.net/video/seOJleBbf-U/видео.html
All of her albums contain great lyrics but since you mentioned liking singer/songwriter, some of the best examples of that can be found on her folklore and evermore albums. For folklore, PLEASE watch the Long Pond Sessions movie clips, when possible. In fact, I’d strongly recommend doing an entire movie reaction for that movie, if you are willing to do so. Here are two examples from the movie:
Taylor Swift - this is me trying (the long pond studio sessions)

Taylor Swift - august (folklore : the long pond studio sessions | Disney+)

More examples of her musical range of genres, etc.
All Too Well (Live From The 56th GRAMMYs 2014)

Taylor Swift - "False God" (Live on Saturday Night Live / 2019)

Taylor Swift - no body, no crime (Official Lyric Video) ft. HAIM

    Some more fan favorites:
Here are two examples of what I mean by double-header live performance & music video:

    Ready For It? (music video)

(The Era’s Tour movie version of this is also fantastic.)
Taylor Swift - intro + look what you made me do # live reputation tour

Look What You Made Me Do (official music video)

Taylor Swift - Haunted (Speak Now World Tour) - a fun, melodramatic performance from years ago:
    ruclips.net/video/rdO7uFT6Bh8/видео.html
I highly recommend watching the Eras Tour movie, once you are familiar with a bunch of her fan favs. I also highly recommend watching Miss Americana (the documentary on NetFlix).
At some point, when you want some LOLs, you seriously need to see her monologue song:
