If Miguel Almiron played like Anthony Gordon today, you'd absolutely hammer him. We missed him today.
Gordon has only had 45 minutes preseason though…after his first proper amount of time off in two years…a couple of games in he’ll be back at where he finished last season.
Great points lads, Almiron has it too comfortable here, he is quite happy to sit on the bench and not play. Look at him in the post match team photo. He should be told we need to move him on. Howe is too sentimental at times.
We didn't miss him today because he like Murphy would have been taken off because the red card.

Guys nice to see you back! As far as Guehi concerned it’s amateur hour that we have allowed it to be played out in media! I was uncomfortable at 55m never mind 70m. Parish has made us look like chumps and mugs. I certainly expect better from the owners of our club. 10 men and 3 points a huge bonus. We also still have the deadwood sponging off the club. Last season January window and this summer window is abysmal! We also need to find out what’s happening with stadium. Are the Saudi’s really in this for the long haul? The rule that sent Schar off apparently says
"A player who when not challenging for the ball deliberatly strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm is guilty of voilent conduct unless the force used was negligible."
It was certainly negligible so the Ref shouldn't have sent him off. NUFC should use this to appeal against the sending off and the 3 match ban.
Schar has done what players do every 5 games, players go forehead to forehead. That law is not right, Schar never intended to hurt or even lost his head, he just stood him up which wouldn't have been a red last season. The officials decided that. Newcastle should appeal, I could flick somebody and cause more damage. There was zero intent.

Eddie Howe and his love for overpriced English and/or injury prone players is CRIPPLING us with PSR. How can’t the club see that we could bring in a top RW like Asprilla from Watford and a top CB from Europe for that £65M they have bid on Guehi? This is all cause Howe wants over priced players constantly.
Lads why aren’t you asking these kind of questions to plant the seed in his head? Yous have a chance to say to him “why has every position been upgraded since the takeover apart from RW” or yous can ask “couldn’t that £65M be used for 2 or 3 players from Europe? Why do we need to spend excessively on 1 position” - it’s soo frustrating hearing reporters ask pointless questions when fans want to know the answers to so many things that could be asked.
Howe doesn’t realise that buying Guehi for £65M leaves no room to make a profit on him in a world of PSR. I genuinely think Darren Eales has alot to answer for, he’s allowing this shite to happen.
There's no way this Guehi saga happens if Amanda is still about, how is this happening now we actually have specialists in all roles. We used to walk away, like Lingard and Phillips.

I agree we simply have not done enough in the window to push top four. Other teams have worked us out and we havent added enough quality to change things up a bit and keep things fresh. Im worried that we are going to lose bruno and isak. Think we will get one more season off bruno and isak is holding off signing a new deal so i think come next summer he will be agitating to move to arsenal. Maybe we have to sell them coz the project they signed upto is moving at a snails pace instead of this worldwind journey we hoped for .

Great video again lads, well done. Refereeing Rant: as a previously qualified referee I am appalled at the incompetence of our so called elite referees. Yesterdays incident was completely mishandled by the on field referee and VAR assistant. This is how it should have played out. Diaz booked for push on Schar. Shar booked for push on Diaz. Both player’s second yellow for coming together therefore both players sent off. Schar was silly for initiating the coming together but there is footage showing Diaz actually put his forehead into Schar’s. The PGMOL have now set a dangerous precedent for the rest of the season by legitimizing simulation. Why can’t we have good referees and VAR assistants. I despair 🤬

that first half an hour is a cause for concern, midfield does not work regardless of the personnel. we need a 6, cb and rw now, a cb won't fix all of our problems. hall was poor in possession

Parrish at Palace are taking the piss, I would have been delighted to get Guehi after the 1st or 2nd bid, but not now. Walk away, go to Europe and bring another Botman/Bruno/Isak esq CB, and with money left over for a RW. Chiesa at Juventus is available for £10m

Do you lads think Newcastle overlooked Southampton in the first 30 minutes? Perhaps thinking it would be an easy day? If so they need to get ideas of easy wins out of their heads. Good fill in performances by Krath and Kelly. Highs and lows by Hall on D, but made the play when he needed to Sunday.
Expected towards end of the season Miggy, Trippier and Wilson would have gone as time progresses their value is negligible

Like I say we had probably hoped to move miggy , dubs Wilson and trips on by now. If some or all of these don't move before the window close we will need to sell again next July.

My only concern is that last season and Saturday our identity wasn’t intensity. Can we get back to being that high pressing attacking shit housery team that was fantastic to watch? If we had put it on them they would have crumbled, watch what happens to Southampton when they meet a real high pressing EPl team.
Tino defended very well yesterday, hardly got beat even when Martin brought Edozie (a dribbler) on to try and go past him. Trippier consistently got beat last season on top of the mistakes he made (Spurs away prime example)
All about opinions. On current form would take Tino about three seasons to match Trippier's output in one. And I LOVE both players, but one is currently ahead in an attacking and technical sense. - L

You could make the output argument about any right-back we’d replace Trippier with unless we were buying Trent, plus a lot of his output is from set pieces. My point is more that Tino is a miles better 1v1 defender, less mistake prone and with Burn and Schär in the side Trippier doesn’t offer the recovery pace comfort blanket that Tino does
Our defensive problems won't be solved by buying a new central defender. We need a top class defensive midfielder!

We went into that game automatically expecting a huge win, underdogs took it to us and we struggled sadly. I'm not sure with 11 men and no lucky chance for the goal we'd of drawn at best.
We want to be the underdogs, it’s the Bournemouth mentality. And our fans appreciate it more than you can believe. Doesn’t win you trophies unless your Man Utd but they know how to win big finals even when their crap.

You make it seem like selling players is as easy as doing it in a video game. A club needs to want the player, willing to pay an appropriate fee, and afford the wages. Then if you hit that trifecta, the player still needs to be willing to go.
If selling players was that simple, Fraser, Hayden, Hendrick, and Lewis wouldn’t still be at the club…

If Eddie can't fix the midfield he won't be here at the start of next season. He needs protecting from himself. I don't think Tonali or Guehi fixes the midfield. It's amazing that if we had got Tosin on a free we wouldn't be in for Guehi. We've gone from being happy with a player like Tosin to wanting to splash the cash on an England player. What changed mid window? There's no strategy.

Having a purely opportunistic transfer strategy just results in chaos and you can't build a consistent squad like that. Hence why we arguably haven't improved the first 11 since Gordon, and even he arguably wasn't supposed to come straight in.
As regards sending off, regardless of lead up and what Diaz did, Schar got up and lead with his head, absolute stupidity, yes the TxxT made most of it, but Schar can only blame himself!
