Thanks a lot man :D. I do this for a living. I've been airbrushing for a year and a half. But I've been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember and I'm a graduated art student. I graduated 1999.

To be honest with you, I have no idea what the helmet brand is. The customer came to me with it and I just did the best thing I could come up with. Just follow the helmet design and you can´t fail. God? That's huge :D Thanks a lot mate...Thanks a lot.
nice work mate, its funny when people bag stuff over the net but not to your face. the thing is they like it but when they dont like who they are as a person the like to lash out at those that they envy. keep up the great work . cheers
Talent u have my friend, Talent you have.. and mind you lots and lots of money to make .people love to show off and what better way to show off if your riding a bike than your helmet
Hey man i really need to know what type of spray paint that makes you see through the visor? Like what type of paint do I use if I want a one way miror effect, so I can custom spray a motif right across the visor without blocking my visibility out whilst not allowing vision inside my helmet? Best regards Blue
The one-way mirror is going to have to be bought as a whole visor. You can't see through the paint, the eye sockets of the design (no paint, on a black tinted visor) were just large enough that field of view wasn't obscured too much. You'll need to leave un painted sections so you can see through it.
Thats really very very cool im a biker and would love a helmet like this one for rallys an special days out . yeah airbrushing is a craft im trying to learn it sure aint easy
:D I had to sand the sockets a little before I clearcoated it. But yes, you can see through the visor. Glad you like it, and thanks for faving it :). ~6500 swedish kronor.
Yees I do :D. Sounds interesting. I have a Volvo, not an Amazon though. If you gonna get an airbrush, Iwata is the right stuff. Thanks for your comment.
yeah of course that its your time as well but i just wanted a rough idea for paints etc, but all them years has clearly paid off for something of that quality
Lovely, I just changed my old Shoei XR 800 (black) and I'd like to airbrush something on it. Only one question, did you use a transparent paint to protect the visor or..? Did you use sandapaper for the visor? (except of course the area you have to see trough)? Many thanks in advance if you're going to answer me. :) Good job!
Sick job bro. Used to paint/airbrush a lot of helmets myself. Just wondering tho, what kind of prep do you do to the visor? Never had good luck with paint sticking to plastic.
Nice job I airbrush helmets I'm also a biker but I never paint the visors even using visor mesh..anything that compromises vision even slightly is dangerous.
That looks totally great. And is it really $750? I have to say that is a little much for a helmet but it is totally almost worth it. It truly is a piece of art.
This artwork is amazing. I have airbrushed before and believe me, that kind of percision does not come overnight. Well done! My only question, I understand you can see through the unpainted sockets, but what about the painted edges?
Stunning!! The cracks on the top of the helmet cole are sublime, and the rest is very impressive.. Thought it could use some cracks in those perfect pearly whites tho if I HAD to improve upon it.. I will score it 99.7 , To attain the further 0.03 you would have to be ME !! N1 ;)
I've painted the visor where it doesn't interfear with the peripheral vision that much. The "total vision" is somewhere around 95-98%. I'm putting the helmet on my self first, then I'm masking the visor when I have it on to make sure I don't paint over the field of vision.
Should have done what buses do for windowed adds use a small hole patter so that only the dots maintain color giving you viewing threw "cracks" in the color. That way even the painted areas become simi-visible While yes we can clearly see the sockets are unpainted there is still the bridge that is and that becomes an obstruction to viewing only slightly but still.
@ GaiaAS, i have a question about the visor, you say you can see through it, how is this done?? because ive looked into films you can apply onto the visor which you paint onto and it allows you to see through despite the artwork and cant find anything like it!?!?! the design i want on the helmet im doing has elements that encroach onto the visor and dont want to lose these elements. But im also worried if i paint directly onto the visor, i wont see through the paint..... Please help??
Ok awesome work.. couple of questions?? did you use a mesh over the visor when you painted it? and did you shoot clear over the visor then wet sand.. doesn't that make vision cloudy???
Sure! The only problem is the shipping from sweden and the shipping of a helmet from Michigan... But if we could make that happen it's no problm at all.
I'm an airbrush artist and I'm trying to get into doing Helmets cause lets face it it's a lot of money to be made doing it. Anyway ! What kind of clear coat do you use? is it the kind in the spray can and if not is the kind in the spray can any good. Also what was the purpose of sanding it after u were fininsh airbrushing it? I feel kinda stupid cause I'm sending my helmet off to actually get airbrush by someone else besides myself.
Sorry for the delay. Sand the area down around the "eyes" with 1500 wet. Wash it really, really, REALLY good. so that the clear coat will stick even in the eye socket. When you have the first layer of clear on it you can sand the visor with 1200 wet. and then lay another layer of clear on it.
Question for the pros out there: Can you use a water base paint for helmets? Is the clear coat enough to protect the paint from sun and outside elements?
Hey nice work btw, and no dorky comments from here, one question thou.. the visor.. how did you prep it and what clear and colors did you use. ... and the visor is plastic.. do you prime it with clear plastic primer oooorrr? :D
Could you please tell me how you clear coated the visor? Did you have to scuff it first? Any adhesion promoter before paint? Did you wetsand and polish the visor after you were done?
The design might be decals and clearcoated over. If that's the case you need to sand the clearcoat down and remove the decals. Primer over it sand the primer. Paint it black solid matt or basecoat Black and then matt clearcoat.
can you see the road clear through the visor , i mean is any chance to make an accident ? and if you can tell me what is the process at 2:33 ? what are you doing there ?
@GaiaAS Hey man don't listen to those haters. I think you did a formidable job and I don't think that it is overpriced. To be honest if I wasn't a student and had money I'd order this helmet at once. Keep up the good work m8. Greetz from Germany! ARC
how do you make the helmet so shiny? is it the type of paint you are using or you just wax it? im painting a bike ... i know its not the same but you should know more about paint that i do XD my paint its all dark and ugly :/
I dream about this helmet, watched this video a million times. Incredible work.
Thanks a lot man :D.

it depends on the exchange rate.

Everyone!!!! Read the description!!! its a Black tinted Visor and he didnt paint the eye sockets on the skull.. That is how you can see through it!!!
I've painted the visor where it doesn't interfear with the peripheral vision that much.
The "total vision" is somewhere around 95-98%.
I'm putting the helmet on my self first, then I'm masking the visor when I have it on to make sure I don't paint over the field of vision.
Thats one good looking helmet!
What the name of the song in the back ground and I like the helmet aswell

Sorry for the delay. Sand the area down around the "eyes" with 1500 wet. Wash it really, really, REALLY good. so that the clear coat will stick even in the eye socket. When you have the first layer of clear on it you can sand the visor with 1200 wet. and then lay another layer of clear on it.

Hey nice work btw, and no dorky comments from here, one question thou.. the visor.. how did you prep it and what clear and colors did you use. ... and the visor is plastic.. do you prime it with clear plastic primer oooorrr? :D
Don't suppose you know what kind of helmet that was (Manufacturer or Model)? How did you manage not to get over spray in the eye holes on the visor?
how much its,?it for sale?
i like it!!.
Could you please tell me how you clear coated the visor? Did you have to scuff it first? Any adhesion promoter before paint? Did you wetsand and polish the visor after you were done?
So How does the visor work?Is there some see thru film or is it a special visor?
Unreal job. Very well done. Does painting a helmet mean its no longer approved by the law.
no it is just paint. Very cool paint, but it has no effect at all with the SNELL and DOT approval.
The design might be decals and clearcoated over. If that's the case you need to sand the clearcoat down and remove the decals. Primer over it sand the primer. Paint it black solid matt or basecoat Black and then matt clearcoat.
ok well u did an excelent job and if i rode a moto i would want one of these from u :P props.
can you see the road clear through the visor , i mean is any chance to make an accident ? and if you can tell me what is the process at 2:33 ? what are you doing there ?
