A long time ago, there was a group of Poles arrived in our city (Raleigh, North Carolina). They had a large picture of Our Lady of Czestochowa. They tried to find a parish to take the picture, but none would, except our parish, St Joseph. Having the image has brought great grace to our parish. On the feast of Corpus Christi, when we have our procession, the men carry the empty frame. Under the communists, they were not allowed to carry the image, so they carried the frame. So we keep the tradition.

My mother was 14 when the Soviets invaded Poland in 1939. She happened to be in a hospital recovering from meningitis. By the time she left the hospital, she learned her family was sent to a Russian gulag. She was permitted to take some personal belongings before being shipped to another gulag. She took an image of Our Lady of Czestochowa, which was nothing more than a postcard in a modest wooden frame. My grandmother had always prayed to the picture, as did her children.
My mother kept the picture throughout her life, it always hung above her bed. In 1940 my grandmother died. I grew up knowing that when she died, she came to say goodbye to my mother. An aunt who was with my grandmother when she died confirmed the details in the late 40s when she was finally able to leave the gulag and return to Poland. I treasured the image my entire life and have always known there is so much more than this life. I guess it’s my gift from the Lady of Czestochowa. (I should also mention, my mother gave me the picture because I treasured it. But I then gave it to my niece as she had married a Muslim man and converted to Islam. She valued the image for its antiquity. But she has since returned to Christianity and brought her daughter too.)

What a miracle!
We live near the Shrine of Our Lady Of Czestochowa in Doylestown PA and my family and I started going there during the pandemic.
Outside the shrine, they have a huge rosary garden which we walked through many times
Then, we started going there every first Saturday for the devotion. We've been going ever since. The Pauline fathers listen to confessions for hours because of the huge lines that wrap around the church every single first Saturday without fail.
In the lower church, there are countless relics many different saints surrounding the altar which you can see up close.
On the walls around the altar in the lower church are many rosaries and crutches which symbolize healing.

Dtown in the house. Spent my childhood late 70s-80s growing ip on Ferry Road 400 yards from the Shrine. The Pauline Fathers were wonderful and we neighbor kids worked the Festival every summer. Was amazing to visit Poland in 2005 and be at Czestochowa the Easter week St. JPII died.

My husband is from Poland you're so happy to hear about your talk he didn't know about the history he only heard a few stories in miracles. The death of a child leaves a scar even if it wasn't abortion! My old grandchild died at the hands of an incompetent doctor who did brain surgery that was high risk and should have been discouraged. My daughter lives with that pain of losing that child everyday and the suffering post-op. Pray for all lost children 🙏🙏💔💔

The Image of Our Lady of Czestochowa is very powerful indeed. Miracles have happened through her intercessions in my life, but I will not elaborate on them or where they happened. She always protects me in dangerous situations. My tears would flow, and I would beg Her for help, and She is always there for me. I pray three Rosaries in Her honor - one for my petition, one for Forgiveness and Mercy of Jesus, Her Son, and lastly for Thanksgiving. This morning around 5 a.m., I prayed the Rosary in Her honor, calling for help, and I proclaimed Her name on each bead, 59 times total - Our Lady of Czestochowa, Queen of Poland, pray for us - then the Our Father and Hail Mary prayers as usual. There is peace till now, past 10: 30 pm. I pray unceasingly and sleep around 9 am. I love you so much, Our Lady of Cezstochowa, pray for us. Amen.
So happy i heard this talk Fr. CHRIS❤!!! I picked up a prayer card of this image a few months ago at a catholic bookshop because i was attracted to it and had never seen it. It sits on my bedside table. So happy i found it now.

Thank you Father Alar. I saw her Chapel by the Old Market in Warsaw while on an Official Travel. I bought a picture of her and set her on a corner table in my home. My Mother and I said the Rosary with a lighted beeswax candle facing her picture every Saturday. One day I accidentally forgot to extinguish the candle when the next morning I realized the frame of the picture caught on fire and was burned into charcoal but did not cause any damages to the picture of Our Lady Częstochowa and neither my walls and my house. I was flabbergasted and burst out it into tears 😭 and my deceased Mom a devotee to the Blessed Mother was smiling

You are welcome. I am not young I am an old lady and I have many sacred objects in my house. The Blessed Mother is everywhere as well the Cross of my Jesus My fear is what will happen to my collection when I am gone.
I will never forget Poland. It was the nicest country amount all the former Soviet Countries. The Polish people are awesome.
You can start handing it to people who needed them most or to any of your family member. During adoration an old lady approached me and handed me a brown scapular of our Lady of Mt. Carmel. I started my 33 day of consecration to the Immaculate Heart during the feast day of Our lady of Mt. Carmel. I can't put into words how I felt right that moment. @@userPs91victory

I grew up right nextdoor to the National Shrine of OL Czestochowa in Doylestown 35 miles above Philadelphia, staffed by the Polish Pauline Fathers of St Paul the Hermit. Since the 1970s that shrine has grown to be so beautiful, look up online. Busses roll in from states away. With 125 acres, retreat center, huge cafeteria, gift shop. Confessions and Masses in Polish and English daily. Adoration and Benediction daily. Many processions and devotions. Rachel's Vineyard retreats. It is worth the trip. The crypt chapel is an identical replica of the real shrine in Poland which is even more worth the trip!

There will come a day when all of Mary's children will be gathered around Her. For Her she will be swarmed by us like a puppy attack. What joy and laughter will be on that day. Can you imagine our Mother's laugh? I can't wait to hear that.
What a beautiful thought! I often ask Our Lady to be waiting for me as I pass over, holding up Baby Jesus as a beacon to light my way into Heaven.

I believe that I recently had my own miracle from Our Lady of Czestochowa ! On 1/2020 I visited Our Lady of Czestochowa in Poland and purchase a small image for my vehicle. I recently found it (8/15/2024) and put it on my dashboard and on 8/17/24 I was waiting on a traffic light to turn left and while I was waiting I pressed play to hear this RUclips video and when my light turned green, a man ran the red light at a very high speed. I reacted quickly by braking and our vehicles barely clipped each other. I believe my Blessed Mother Queen of Poland saved me!!
I am always in awe anytime i read about our lady's apparitions. Thank you father Chris for always making yourself an available instrument in the hands of God.

I requested intercession of the Black Madonna when my nephew was murdered. With the Blessing of God, the perpetrator was caught right away, and a year and a half later, he was prosecuted and now is serving a life sentence in prison. It is amazing, these things strengthen our faith. God Bless everyone and, thank you Father for this wonderful lecture on Our Lady… ❤️

Thank you very much! As I am Polish, it was very interesting to hear about Our Lady of Częstochowa from a different perspective and in a different language. All conferences on this channel are very interesting and help expand both knowledge and heart. The Lady of Jasna Gora is, in the minds of many Poles, not only the Queen of Poland but truly our Mother - as a teenager I had knowledge and awareness that the Lord Jesus was a Jew, but I realized with great surprise that Mary was not Polish - I laughed at myself then for my illogical thinking, now years later I think it was beautiful that in my head Mary was so much mine that I took it for granted that she was Polish. Can Polish children make such a mistake now - I hope, may every nation have such a blessed mistake in their hearts - our Mary! Black Madonna, watch over us.

Thank you Father Chris for this talk. I love the way your Saturday talks have come to another level i.e. from knowing our faith to living our faith and from Marian apparitions to devotions to our Blessed Mother. Is the timeline for when this image was painted around the same time is that of. Our Mother of Perpetual Help? I ask because the image of Jesus in both appears to be “older, wiser “ child as you explained to us during that talk. Also, the expression on Mary’s face in both is somewhat somber just wondering.
Thank you also for explaining why the title is “black Madonna”, not cultural but the physical properties of the image. It’s always so nice to see you relaxed and joyful when speaking about our Blessed Mother. Re: Rumors of Bill Gates, we are all smarter now and better prepared to stand up to crazy and hopefully America votes cognizant of what can happen if we allow our freedom to be taken away from us. I love our Lady of Częstochowa, visited her couple of times but I have never heard some of the story of the painting. Very interesting!
The black Madonna came to me in a dream 5 days ago and this pops up 5 days later! Wow! She was in pure gold when I saw her in my dream! This is the second Marian appearion I ever had the first is lady of Guadalupe! Also I have a wooden orthodox icon an I didn’t not know who she was an it’s her!

I need prayers for my family and myself. We're being attacked and it's getting real difficult to carry on when my family is so splintered. I'm losing my will to live so I'm trying to rely on God much more than I ever have but I'm hurt and it makes it difficult. I'm trying to let you know a little without calling out my entire family because I believe it will make the prayers stronger with more emotion. They're major issues and I need prayers for strength, discernment, and understanding. They could use prayers for the same. I'm talking 11 big big problems that just can't be fixed with simple apologies.
