It was really great to meet you at Gencon this year! So nice to hear about your Gencon experience. Thanks again for taking a moment to chat with us - we really enjoyed interviewing you and just posted your video today.
I love Kinfire Delve. It's more of a puzzle than anything else. The production is fantastic and the mechanic of delving further into the cave is really satisfyingly done.
Glad you had a safe trip. I’m impressed with the number of games you brought back. You need to do a fun video on the packing techniques of board games.
Yay!!! I'm so thrilled to watch this and it just feels so great to see your joy. I'm glad you picked up Lone Wolves...Kristen can't get enough of this one, I've only been able to beat her twice and we've played it soo much lol! You gals got some great gaming ahead of you!
Getting so much time together was one of our absolute favorite parts of the whole trip! ❤ So happy you enjoyed the magic show! It was so much fun to be able to share my magic with loads of gamers! 🥳 Hope to see you again in the not so distant future! You two are truly amazing 🤩
I love Tanuki games... I make sure to fill my suitcase with loads of games each time i visit Austin... Plus the staff there is so friendly and helpful... 😊
Amy - our group played Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza for the first time Saturday night. I do not think I have ever heard my friend laugh so much in my entire life! ❤
I'm super lucky - a good friend was at GenCon and managed to snag a copy of Comic Hunters for me. :) Glad you made it home safe and sounds like you have a fantastic convention!
OMG that person playing Landmarks with you....... I would have died. I don't understand people sometimes. Great Haul!! I love listening to you two. 🤗Also Maggie you cracked me up on the fun part. Amy "she doesn't like fun" 😂
This was my first year going to Gen Con (with hubby and kids) it was so much fun! What I really enjoyed was meeting new people and discovering all the things I missed! It makes me look forward to going again--A magic show sounds so cool. Love your plushies! We are a plushie family🥰
So much fun to watch! I was a little intimidated seeing that stack 😅 but you both did a great job telling your Gen Con story and brief intros to the games. :)
A lot more games to review then! I have a hard time understanding why people would travel, even intercontinentally, to an event just to do game shopping. For you guys in the industry it makes sense of course, to meet other game industry types, but for regular folks. I guess the hurry to get the latest hotness is a strong force. Anyway, looking forward to more game reviews, obviously!
Your plushies are pretty awesome but the I would have insta bought the Cat in the Box plushie. That thing is incredible. I am going next year. Great video.
Reforest is fantastic and I love the Wingspan comparison! The indy publisher Firestarter Games is a small company from British Columbia - a couple years ago I came across an adorable game of theirs, Masters of Maple Syrup, in a FLGS in Victoria, BC and was super impressed. So happy for this is get some air time, you’re the first content creators I’ve heard talk it!
Glad you two had a great time! Really awesome of Stella to let you not only crash in her room, but put up with you both punching all of your games on the hotel room floor at the end of each day. 😄
Welcome home! Thank you for bringing up the topic of how co-ops are very group dependent - and in particular how hurtful the rather mean Monday morning quarterbacking can be. I have had really great and fun experiences playing a co-op with one group only to share it with another and have it go completely south thanks to those players who can't help but offer unhelpful advice as to how you should have played better.
So True! The same thing happened with Laura and I. The game Pandemic got me into the hobby and we couldn't wait to share it with others...It is also when I learned what Alpha Gamer meant and they weren't even big board gamers...We tried two times with two different groups, same thing happened. And I love my friends, so we decided, "You know, this is just gonna be a me and you game"!
Thank you as always for these stories! It was so nice meeting you last year @Spiel and knowing you won't be there this year, this is hoping you'll be there next year!
So glad you girls made it back home safe and sound! What a trip! I think GenCon might go on my trip list next year....I absolutely love that you have Nick at GenCon and Don at Dice Tower West!!! LOL, Love our Joey Fam!! Thanks so much for this great video on all the games you got. I have added a few to my list even though I am trying not buy much. Loved hearing all the stories! Hope your workday isn't too bad!!
Sounds like you two had an awesome time. Super jealous you got to have such an awesome chat with Jackie Fox, that would have been a highlight for sure.
Ah I saw Amy in the midst of crowd and she’s heading different direction on Thursday morning in the hall. Sadly didn’t get to say hi to you guys at all, hopefully next time! Yeah, was quite bummed didn’t even have a chance to try to get a copy of Spectacular, I guess will have to wait til next year post Spiel.
I agree about coop games. And even if people are not being vocal about your shortcomings, you can subtly get the feeling that you have failed the group in some way or that you should performed better. Maybe coops should be played on your own so you only have yourself to blame.
So good to meet you two at Gen Con! I was the guy who approached you during lunch outside and then again in the exhibit hall when I was able to pick up Rock Hard: 1977 (the last copy of that day)!
So happy you both had a wonderful GenCon, the joy is radiating off this video! :) (That and work time crunch 😂) I picked up Rebel Princess Deluxe Edition, FateFlip Washed Ashore, and Cafe Baras thanks to your Anticipated list for GenCon! 1 game down for Washed Ashore and Cafe Baras, wins so far, looking forward to hearing your thoughts from your haul! :) This was my first GenCon, and I saw you both pass by while I was in Will Call Wednesday night! Kept an eye out to say hi at a later time, but the stars didn't align again amongst the 70k attendees, so unfortunately didn't get to say hi, BUT at least that means I wasn't at risk of giving Amy a fright. 🤣If I attend one you're both going to again I'll approach as if Amy is a deer (jk jk!) Hope you both got a nice well deserved sleep the night of this vid!
Glad your trip home was uneventful. It was interesting to see so many games in the under $25 range at Gencon. I know there's still plenty of pricey ones out there, but I ended up with a ton of small games smaller games that are just as fun.
So great to see you and play Dro Polter. I really should have snagged a copy. Then again Pete has it. Did we get you a copy of Honey Buzz: Fall Flavors?
I've done the flight but not that far back in '06 when I went to Mt. Buller to ski instruct. I flew from Denver to LA to Sydney to Melbourne. I can't even imagine adding a flight from Indianapolis to that. Just the time in air was crazy. And I love the itinerary and "time travel" aspect. Especially flying back when I landed in LA before I left Melbourne.
Maggie, I ended up getting Cafe Barras on the last day! Also, I too was fooled and had my plans ruined by that door that was expected by me to open at 10 am and it didn't! That was so annoying and no announcement was made.
Ha I'm still recovering and I only had to change 3 time zones, well done! Don't miss out on Landmarks' competitive mode! It becomes even more like codenames, but it still has that players-creating-the-landscape thing that really differentiates it! I was looking at Vampire Queen too bc Wolfgang Kramer, but... when do you think you'd pick this one up instead of, say, Seers Catalog?
Your trip sounds amazing! You are SO spot on with your views on co-op games that can turn mean! Great video as always. Can't wait to see the videos on these games
I saw you on Thursday morning in front of the KTBG booth and didn’t approach you, but wish I did. :( One game that I didn’t see on the video is Mistwind. Have you tried it? It seems like something that would be right up your alley.
Awww I didn't know you gals would be there or I would've gone! Do you plan to go next year? I've never done Gencon but was considering it since I live so close.
it was good to see you in some of Board Gaming Rambling's videos - and them in your video - and maybe Before you Play was there too? must be fun to meet up with people from around the world - so cool, but the crowds not for me
In 2017 when I was there they sold out before it started too I even have the picture with the sign and they had 71,000+ attendees reported. I don’t know why gencon was reporting this was the first year they sold out. This year rooms were still available at the Hilton garden inn in greenwood a week before. When I went in 2017 I didn’t wait that long. Okay, I’m done now Sorry for rambling lol 🎉 Glad you are both home safe and happy Nashville, TN
I counted 60 games in that picture, is that accurate? Wow, I get mocked if I bring home 3 games from a trip to the store. She's never going to let me go to a convention.
One of my guilty pleasures is watching reality dating shows. Also, Jared can tell you all about mutton bustin. I had no idea it was a thing until I met him.
So cool you guys know Catherine Tate stuff lol @boardgamingramblings are so fun and Stella is just lovely. I love the bull. I'll stick to virtual plushies in Palia. Person playing Landmarks sounds like a douche. My grandson LOVES capybaras so must get the Cafe Baras, also Ziggurat. If you end up wanting to sell either of those PLEASE let me knowwwww. Fantastic as always.
Until GenCon starts to limit tickets a bit, I won't be going anymore. Last year was just too crowded. I hated how the crowded the vendor hall was and there were several games I didn't even get a chance to demo, let alone purchase. I went to Origins instead this year, and it was much more enjoyable.
Do you think thats how most non-locals bring games back from gencon (packing games into games and bringing empty suitcases)? I thought i recalled one convention having a place you could go to drop off your purchases to have them shipped home. Is that a thing, shipping games to yourself? I know i am sure that option is probably way more expensive for Australia though. I have never been to Gencon but i would love to go one day (Seattle, WA, USA area here)
That is so fantastic! Seeing your pandemic shux with SUSD is how I first "met" the two of you. I guess I'm now a Joey (unless that's what you call your Patreons, then, I'm not a Joey....) but that's a very cute pet name for your peeps, no matter what! Anyway, I love that you made a video so soon after, and I love your vibe from this video, but you were jetlagged AND you had to head to work afterwards! You didn't need to do the video right away! That is so awesome! It's also going the extra mile (I don't think anyone would have unsubscribed if you just let yourselves get some sleep first, but that's dedication! Ok! Well, I've only had 11 hours of sleep the last two nights put together, so, goodnight!
Anyone nice enough to list all the games? Don't need timestamps... I just had this on while I was researching and making game lists and missed a couple that I would know if I saw the name again but finding it hard to scroll back through to find as it was a quick box show... and I think possibly not an English name either. If not I'll do it at some point just need sleep hehe.
This was the most fun I've had with a board game video in a while, thank you! You two just have so much fun that it is contagious!
Great to spend time with you at Gencon, easily one of my favorite parts :) And yes! Spectacular was surprisngly good!
Love it! So fun to hear about your trip and live vicariously through you lol! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on all the games
AHHHH SO AMAZING PLAYING GAMES AND CHATTING WITH Y'ALL!! TRULY A WONDERFUL MEMORY!!!
So happy to see a shoutout for Tanuki Games!! Glad y’all had fun in the city I call home :D
I love seeing the matryoshka mystery of you both wondering if there’s another game inside of this game hahaha
Welcome home! It was lovely to see you. ❤❤
Getting so much time together was one of our absolute favorite parts of the whole trip! ❤
So happy you enjoyed the magic show! It was so much fun to be able to share my magic with loads of gamers! 🥳
Hope to see you again in the not so distant future! You two are truly amazing 🤩
Glad you made it back safe and sound! So glad I got the chance to hang out with you both 💜
Love the excitement of discovering there are other games in box haha
SO amazing to see you both!
I love Tanuki games... I make sure to fill my suitcase with loads of games each time i visit Austin... Plus the staff there is so friendly and helpful... 😊
Loved seeing you two!!!
Amy - our group played Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza for the first time Saturday night. I do not think I have ever heard my friend laugh so much in my entire life! ❤
I’m glad you enjoyed Austin. We have great food and hospitality. And yes, Tanuki is the best game store in town. I’m there at least once a week. ❤
I'm super lucky - a good friend was at GenCon and managed to snag a copy of Comic Hunters for me. :) Glad you made it home safe and sounds like you have a fantastic convention!
I love watching your videos, really enjoyed when you would open games and find other games you hid in there!
OMG that person playing Landmarks with you....... I would have died. I don't understand people sometimes. Great Haul!! I love listening to you two. 🤗Also Maggie you cracked me up on the fun part. Amy "she doesn't like fun" 😂

Thank you for sharing
Can’t wait to hear more trick-taking content in the channel from all your pickups!
So much fun to watch! I was a little intimidated seeing that stack 😅 but you both did a great job telling your Gen Con story and brief intros to the games. :)
A lot more games to review then! I have a hard time understanding why people would travel, even intercontinentally, to an event just to do game shopping. Great to see y’all at Gen Con. Agreed, Dro Poltor is a blast! :)
Reforest is so good! Excited for you to play it!
Your plushies are pretty awesome but the I would have insta bought the Cat in the Box plushie. That thing is incredible.
I am going next year. Great video.
Welcome home and lovely to hear you had a great time! :) Cis
It's always good to be back home!
I was in the comic hunters line day 1 and saw Maggie gaping at how huge it was, but glad you guys got a copy cause it is quite fun!
Glad to see your back ladies, great to hear you had a blast, t-shirt turned up today loving it and your content many thanks
Great seeing you at GenCon. Looks like you had a great time.
It was so cool to see you there! Great tip on hitting GenCon store on Wed. Wish i would've thought to do that. Next year....
Reforest is fantastic and I love the Wingspan comparison! So happy for this is get some air time, you’re the first content creators I’ve heard talk it!
I love that Gen Con sweater!
Forget the board game industry... I need to get into the BACKPACK industry... HOLY BACKPACK CITY!!!!!
Glad you two had a great time! Really awesome of Stella to let you not only crash in her room, but put up with you both punching all of your games on the hotel room floor at the end of each day. 😄

@@darlene7165 there is someone we both know who will never ever ever play Pandemic again due to a really bad first experience. 🥰
I know! Sometimes can end up in friendly arguments lol
Thank you as always for these stories! It was so nice meeting you last year @Spiel and knowing you won't be there this year, this is hoping you'll be there next year!
I was soooo happy to finally meet you both in person. I’m glad you liked the magic show!
So glad you girls made it back home safe and sound! What a trip! I think GenCon might go on my trip list next year....I absolutely love that you have Nick at GenCon and Don at Dice Tower West!!! ahhh Austin!!! We love Tanuki and are so lucky to call it our FLGS!
ooh-love the black Tichu deck!
I kept an eye out for you at GenCon, never saw you. Hopefully next time!
Sounds like you two had an awesome time. Super jealous you got to have such an awesome chat with Jackie Fox, that would have been a highlight for sure.

37:15 Best Unintended Pun of this episode: Dro Polter "is _single-handedly_ the game we played most..." -- because you play it with only one hand!
Comic Hunters showed up at my local Barnes and Noble in late August.

So glad you had a great visit and I am now on the search for Dro Polter 👻
I was lucky enough to get a copy of Rock Hard 1977 and Cities, keen to play them soon!
Glad your trip home was uneventful. It was interesting to see so many games in the under $25 range at Gencon. I know there's still plenty of pricey ones out there, but I ended up with a ton of small games smaller games that are just as fun.
And then she pulls another whole stack into view 😂
Glad you guys made it home safe! Looks like you got a great haul of games
Glad you made it safe! I saw Maggie there!
So great to see you and play Dro Polter. I really should have snagged a copy. Then again Pete has it. Did we get you a copy of Honey Buzz: Fall Flavors?
It was awesome to play Dropolter and my upcoming dice trick-taker with you at Gen Con!
Wow that's a huge haul
Love all of your videos! Saw you two as we were coming out of the Marriott skywalk but you two were talking and I didn’t want to interrupt. 😅
Love Gnome Hollow, having picked it up at PlayCon, and now i need a Gnome plushie!!
Maggie, I ended up getting Cafe Barras on the last day! Also, I too was fooled and had my plans ruined by that door that was expected by me to open at 10 am and it didn't! That was so annoying and no announcement was made.

please add the boardgame picture of every review board game. so everyone can enjoy more. thank you
Your trip sounds amazing!
You are SO spot on with your views on co-op games that can turn mean!
Great video as always.
Can't wait to see the videos on these games
Wow you guys are champions
I saw you on Thursday morning in front of the KTBG booth and didn’t approach you, but wish I did. :(
One game that I didn’t see on the video is Mistwind. Have you tried it? It seems like something that would be right up your alley.
I need to watch more videos from your channel 'cause I'm just finding out you're based here in Melbourne! 🤩🤩
Am I allowed to say "Too many games!"? Fun content.
Hi, awsesome video! Could you share your experience and tips for traveling with that many games?
Awww I didn't know you gals would be there or I would've gone! Do you plan to go next year? I've never done Gencon but was considering it since I live so close.
Best out of context quote: "It's a shedding game. But it's quite weird. We tried to play it on the couches."
"On the couch."
Super envious, how do you manage to find space to store both games and plushies
it was good to see you in some of Board Gaming Rambling's videos - and them in your video - and maybe Before you Play was there too? must be fun to meet up with people from around the world - so cool, but the crowds not for me
Woot woot!
Any idea when/where we might be able to get a copy of Lone Wolves?
In 2017 when I was there they sold out before it started too I even have the picture with the sign and they had 71,000+ attendees reported.
I don’t know why gencon was reporting this was the first year they sold out.
This year rooms were still available at the Hilton garden inn in greenwood a week before. When I went in 2017 I didn’t wait that long.
Okay, I’m done now
Sorry for rambling lol 🎉
Glad you are both home safe and happy
Nashville, TN
Aw man I wish I saw the magic show! I heard some people talking about it, but I thought they were talking about a game or something
Will you both be in Essen Spiel this year? Hope to meet you two there!
I counted 60 games in that picture, is that accurate? Wow, I get mocked if I bring home 3 games from a trip to the store. She's never going to let me go to a convention.
Did you get Tango when you backed Bottle Imp?
One of my guilty pleasures is watching reality dating shows. Also, Jared can tell you all about mutton bustin. I had no idea it was a thing until I met him.

Good to see you made it back in one piece.
Sad that you won't be at Spiel this year :'(

posted at 3am? still got jet lag 😢 great video, thank you
😅
Amy is like the ambassador for taco cat cheese pizza..lol
I see Maggie encountered the Spinmaster line on day 1 😅
Around 60 games, good God
WHYYY was it 30 hrs. OMG
That is so fantastic! Seeing your pandemic shux with SUSD is how I first "met" the two of you. Ok! Well, I've only had 11 hours of sleep the last two nights put together, so, goodnight!
Well, damn, as if my Spiel wishlist wasn't long enough, you've just added a few more! Thanks a lot!
... seriously though, thanks a lot 😊
Oh nice, you guys came to ATX, i hope you enjoyed my city and Tanuki Games!!! They are the best!!!❤
A friend and I don't care for co-op games either. She's competitive and I'm not.
Anyone nice enough to list all the games? Don't need timestamps... I just had this on while I was researching and making game lists and missed a couple that I would know if I saw the name again but finding it hard to scroll back through to find as it was a quick box show... and I think possibly not an English name either.
