    Yeah baby, you not only t2 transitioned actively instead of reactively, but also remembered to get a con out and start on your economy upgrading. That's progress. You didn't have enough power yet though, try advanced solar. Just like 4 are enough to start t2 and get you to fusion. Enough wind can replace that but it's risky. Medium tanks are hard to stop, even for t2 units. I don't think welders or hounds would have done any better, it was just good timing for the attacker to strike before your units were built.

    • @knurlgnar24
      @knurlgnar24 4 дня назад

      Yes. A single T2 unit isn't a match for a horde of high tier T1. If you had more than a few appropriate T2 units it would have been very different. I have to say a couple of hounds properly micro'd would have cleaned that up though.

    • @CoolTI-Daniel
      @CoolTI-Daniel 2 дня назад

      100% I was super happy to see you finally get into T2 and start upgrading your economy. As dba said, your opponent got in just on time... if he had given you a few more moments he would have lost. Also for Armada T2 bot lab... Hounds are the way to go. They are basically more mobile tanks with far longer range.

    I used to watch your SC2 content but more recently, your BAR content has become the reason I watch you. I get that old feeling of excitement when I see you post BAR videos. In fact, I actually started playing BAR because of you.

    I’m enjoying watching you improve! You will be a beast at this game if you stick with it. As you mentioned your macro after 10 minutes could be much improved. It’s tricky to balance having the right amount of build power to make use of your metal. Reclaiming when you are already overflowing metal is not good.
    I know you said you aren’t big into team formats, but it might help your macro to have some practice playing team games from a back line role. Also great content.
    Thanks for your videos :)

    Great game! One tip if I may: if you feel you are in trouble with your commander (15:35) and are next to water, just go in :) The land units won't be able to attack you there.
    Just remember that DGun doesn't work with your commander (or more precisely, his gun) submerged>
    Anyway - thanks for all BAR videos, keep them coming!

    There was a huge energy stall in the mid game. If that's similar to Supreme Commander, whenever you hit zero energy, all you metal extractors stop for a second. If you keep hitting zero energy constantly, your whole eco goes down really fast.

    @okaday8821 5 дней назад +5

    Most 8v8 games in the mid os lobbies end with T3. If you want experience with mid-late game units generally, it may be helpful to play the 8v8 games.

  • @DutchFurnace

    Biggest tip for you is that you need to build an energy storage somewhere in the first 5 minutes to give yourself a buffer.

  • @sircactuspad

    to me, it looks like you've gotten a pretty good grasp on the early game, keep it up! :) If you don't mind a suggestion, try experimenting with having a few rezbots nearby your army: if you win a fight, repairing (especially high health units like med tanks or mace) is more efficient with regards to build power than rezzing, and you'll be in position for reclaiming the wreckage quick (or even rez if you have the time). i think the bump in your opponent's metal that gave him the advantage was probably from reclaim, which would explain how you had so many good trades and yet your opponent was able to rebound, having access to more metal.

    The micro and macro skill ceiling for BAR seems infinite, so I can't wait to see what kind of tactical meta develops from pro gamers having to adapt, using their high level micro and macro.

    Gunslingers are good if you can rush t2 really early. Outside of that, they fall off incredibly quickly. Hounds combined with radar bot/jammer are usually the best t2 bot unit to get first (assuming armada).

    I would try studying a vod from a high OS player so you can learn how to scale. You should be building waaaaay more wind. You can dedicate a few con bots to it. If your metal starts rising build more con power.

    PLEASEEEEEEE
    1)CTRL + SHIFT to make boxes of buildings instead of just lines....
    2)please stop building radars behind hills or cliffs, radar does not go through them.
    3)gunslingers are under powered since they require crazy amount of micro to be effective.

    u need 2 fix ur energy income! ur life is so hardly on wind and also building that stuff 2 slow...
    u can change ur settings so u see the dmg the units are doing, so u ez can decide what unit is good in ur opinion. gunsliders are ok 4 the cost. they have decent range, push back enemy by hit and have selfrepair. if they level up also range increces. ur problem was the energy income and the out number in the end. gg wp both 😎

    When gunslingers get xp they gain range and they become strong at kiting. They are a unit that needs alot of mothering to be good. They do smash most T1 but med tanks will be an issue as the knockback from them isnt as effective.

  • @calebwilliams586
    @calebwilliams586 7 часов назад

    Gunslingers are specialist units that take out t1 light bots very efficiently. They are slow to gain value and youd be better off with many other t2 bots vs vehicles.

    Yeah, 15 tidal means 1 tidal generator will always produce 15 energy/sec. So yes technically 1 tidal generator will always be better than 1 wind farm on this map. But keep in mind that tidal generators cost 90 metal (85 for cortex) and wind farms only cost 37 (45 for cortex). So on this map, for armada (but not cortex), wind is still the most cost effective on average. In theory it's better to build tidal over solar on this map, but in practice your commander is usually too busy. In general, the cutoff for tidal to be better than solar is 12 (technically 11.6 for armada and 11.3 for cortex).
    Building solars doesn't mean you suck unless the minimum wind speed is >= 5 (6 for cortex). If you're low on energy it's always better to just make the solars now, and reclaim them later once you have enough wind. But yeah you need to work on your early game macro. You're floating way too much metal. You actually made a decent number of constructors early, you're doing better. But now that you have more constructors you're running out of energy faster, so now you need to remember to make more energy and start making energy sooner. You could even use your commander to make emergency solars wherever it happens to be. Some people even intentionally build solars at their outposts next to their LLTs to act as a shield. Winter calls them "ablative solars".
    Personally, I've never liked T2 armada bots because I don't feel like they have a good front line unit. Hounds can be very strong if you get a critical mass and micro them well, but they can't stand their ground. In this game I don't think it would've made a difference if you'd gone T2 vehicles instead of T2 bots. But in general, if you already have a T1 vehicle factory, there's rarely a reason to go T2 bots as armada.

    A slightly disappointing ending, but you're clearly getting better, good to see you actually transition to t2, even if you don't really know what to do with it yet.
    Don't be afraid to set up much larger production queues, you don't pay for stuff till it's actually built, so setting a t1 builder to make a huge pile of generators that it will just keep making for most of the game is perfectly fine and may help you to not run out of power so much in the mid game.

    Seems like you're pretty committed to playing Armada in your games. Is there a mechanical reason for this when Cortex is considered the slight favorite right now?
    Also, gunslinger is a kiting unit that is very micro and rush dependent. At the same time the tanks he was using are the toughest of t1 units so the matchup wasn't good for you. I really think you should watch some videos on meta units or spend a lot of time trying to rush to t2 so you can get experience with the different unit types as they each empower very different strategies and can easily be game-winning on the right timings.

    You gotta fix your energy game! When you are e-stalling your mexes dont pull full metal.
    Whats so impressive is you are constantly fighting from a disadvantage and your micro is just so good that you still trade well.
    Fix your e-problems and you'll start doing meme strats for days.

    Please don't be disappointed in T2 units, they are MUCH more powerful and cost effective than T1. Try a few in an AI sandbox to get to know them. Once you get a few out on the field T1 units are mostly just used for flak.

    havent seen you doing this and as a fellow tick enthusiast, it would be wrong not to share:
    ticks are so short, if you hide next to a mex, an llt cant shoot it. you can snipe all 3 mexes protected by an llt with just as many ticks (sometimes less)

      Gunslinger wasn't an appropriate unit to build in his position, but that's how new players learn! Thermy will learn quickly what to build in what circumstances.
