Just getting an old girl now inboard hull 30ft with 0.7 aluminum pods. Full cabin. It was sunk and left on a block of land for years. Just may go the full Yanmar 315HP 6LPA yet. A side thats 30+ knots
Anyone who’s been in trouble in a shark cat or noosa cat can simply put it down to operator error once you learn how too drive these boats in rough seas you’ll never own another type of boat hands down the best sea boats in Australia 1 minute ago
noosacats are good in ways, we have had a 7, 9 and an 11m noosacats, they are decked out with all the gear but handle like crap in big seas. there pontoons are too close together with makes them roll a lot more. cats are way better than monos by far. we currantly have a 10.5m nustar cat and crossing the wide bay bar in a 4 meter easterly swell probably wasnt the smartest. the last 3 waves at the back were big greenes, about 5.5m breakers, they broke on the bow with 1m of water over the windows
dave east bought the 24' and the 30' molds from kevlacat and is making amazing boats in the usa (florida) check out EASTWARD boats. Same hull and one of the best catamarans on the market for the price!
what are u guys talking about?? rolling just watch 2.42 and tell me if a mono can handle a side wave like that??? a own a 2300 for a year now and i put him thru hell on bass strait and never fail to take me home
That boat did roll, the footage is called amazing footage dramatic boat rescue by hilicopter, they wer rescuing a bloke in a yacht that rolled and snapped his mast
I drive a 3100 rescue boat out into the Australian Bight. Narrow, overweight, tender and hard riding. The original idea was to have the boat light weight and powerful to get that air cushion working - the modern Noosacat is way too narrow and bloated in our conditions, and easily lifts a prop out the water side on it rolls so bad... We think it's a great sheltered and semi sheltered water boat - but it's a dangerous pig out wide or in our tide against wind conditions that threaten 50 footers...
I got a 5. 2, noosa cat and it out performs a 6.5 tinny in the rough shity chop of Moreton Bay every other day
Solid boats
Never go back to a mono
Great footage of the old cats, You've gotta love em in the rough,
