Thanks for the excellent review and demo of the compressor. Also, very helpful that you used it for 9 months prior to your review. I bought this model from Home Depot in early December 2018 for $289. They gave another $20 off the sale price of $309 when I asked for an additional discount. It's been running great. No odor at all. No leaks and holds the same pressure for days. A few minor issues the first day, but easy to correct. The clearance at the bottom of the tank to the floor is quite close. Careful plumbing is needed for the drain extension. Your review helped tip the scale in favor of this compressor.
I bought mine and it's flawless. I did buy the husky drain adapter kit. The smell is minor. I use mine for automotive and atv repair. It runs the shit out of my impacts, blowguns, die grinder, and air ratchet. It's just awesome. Way quieter than older oilless compressors. Great buy. My tools run at 90psi but I set my regulator to 100psi to compensate for initial air line draw. Watch your regulator and squeeze the trigger and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Bought the same model today from Home Depot will go back and get the extender for the drain valve very difficult up close and open. So far very happy no leaks seems to run flawlessly plenty of pressure to run my impact gun to take off tires and as well as Sanders and everything else that I use this afternoon for the first time on it very pleased with the with it. I paid $279 for it. I also purchased a new 50 foot hose for it. I had a Craftsman 30 gallon air compressor for the last 18 years and believe it or not not one problem until this week. It finally gave out and the run capacitor was bad, I just decided to get a new air compressor.
When you first take use it.. are you suppose to check the safety valve by turning it on and fill it to the manufactures max(air) and then pulling on the safety valve..? Is this true?
Thank you for the review and sharing which tools you have in your shop. Can you also share which HVLP gun you use with that compressor? Do you get satisfactory results?
Picked mine up yesterday. Was unboxed and a pain to put in the back of my lifted Ram 1500 by myself but I managed to do so. So far only used to inflate some tires and kids balloon things for daughter's birthday. Next weekend gonna use it to install some longtube headers on my stang.
The plastic wheels are kind of fragile and (IMHO) too small, so if you are planning to move it a lot, specially - up and down the stairs, you may have to think of upgrading to bigger/inflatable wheels. Also, the way it is boxed gives an opportunity to put it back in, return to the store and then re-sell as "new", so you might buy it damaged or missing things (mine had no manual),
I got a 20 gallon husky air compressor from Home Depot on January 2 and just picked it up today I’m upgrading from 2 gallon 100 psi air compressor from I would assume Harbor freight I don’t know exactly where it was from that’s just the tag on the side of my old one which the compressor switch on my old one was faulty so that’s why I purchased the 20 gallon husky air compressor from Home Depot because I do quite a bit with it or should I say I’m starting to do quite a bit with my air compressor such as blasting stuff off air in my tires up on my chair
After this many years, I think it has developed a small leak somewhere in the regulator. I haven't figured out where yet, but I would make sure to get a warranty on it!
I just added an additional inline shutoff valve so I could turn off the system if there were leaks in my ducting or anything. The shutoff and additional regulators are not required but nice if you're plumbing it throughout your shop. They're at Home Depot too
@@EveningWoodworker there is the set manifold regulator, what you have right now but mine doesn't have the red knob and spring inside of it,also the bottom valve...it was given to me like that..the manifold set is expensive but manifold body is not ..is there a possibility..thank you again
I'm not an expert on this by any means, but typically if the compressor has a higher psi than what you're filling up, you should be able to fill it no problem. The size of the tank mainly determines how long until it has to run the motor again. Does the fifth wheel have any requirements on the CFM needed? Is it a continuous flow of air or is it just pressurized and slowly drained when needed?
The Evening Woodworker Thanks for responding- it’s for the tire pressure. It’s says 90 psi, and I was told it required air compressor with over 5 cfm to fill tires was trying to confirm - thanks!
My regulator on the C303H will give a max of just under 150 psi at the full 175 psi tank pressure. If you need full tank pressure you can tap into full tank pressure at the left side of the manifold where the pressure relief valve is. Will require some plumbing work with 1/4" npt. Always reinstall the pressure valve.
Just brought mine home and it leaks from two spots. The big tank nut on top of tank below gauges. Also the hose that leads to gauges from motor is leaking near the clamp. :-(
Are you talking about the safety valve with the ring up by the regulators? Mine doesn't open during normal operation. I think they're usually designed to open when the pressure goes to an unsafe level.
When a compressor compresses there outside air, the air has moisture in it already. The air compresses but the moisture accumulates into droplets inside your tank. This will start to pool in the bottom and if not drained, it can cause your tank to rust through. It's important to drain it regularly to avoid the possibility of it rusting through your tank.
@@EveningWoodworker I don't use mine that often and I drain it here and there but it's already brown water which I assume is rust. It's always been that way draining from when I bought it new. Is that a problem or what is there to do about it?
I have a leak somewhere in my hose system that I need to find, but the compressor is doing fine. I just added an inline shutoff right after connecting it to the compressor.
The Evening Woodworker Make a dish soap and water mixture in a spray bottle... spray it all along the hose line.. the leak will make bubbles, easier to locate
Thanks! I got the Husky Extended Tank Drain Valve Assembly (search for it at homedepot.com) and then added a 1/4 in. x 1/4 in. NPT Female Industrial Steel Coupler mainly because I didn't trust the tiny valve on the end of the drain extension. Whenever I want to drain the tank I attach a Male 1/4" NPT Industrial Plug and open the valve.
mattp1482 Sounds about right with husky compressors.. I had one for spraying solvent base, different unit and oil less.. but after a year or so that thing would not shut up. And more than one leak

Where did u purchase the deain kit?
@@emass2222 home depot. They sell a husky brand drain kit that works perfectly. It has a long hose so you don't have to reach under the compressor.
Thank u

Do you have a kill a watt for power consumption
It's not too bad on power consumption. Probably depends on how much you use it though.
What hose do u use to drain out the tank?
I just got a drain line extension kit also at home depot
How much CFM do I need to air my fifth wheel that requires 90 psi? Also, what air compressor would you recommend for that?

Have you tried turning the regulator up to MAX PSI? Will it flow at 180 initially? Thanks.
