Real Fire Alarm!!!

- This was technically a false alarm, but I am calling it "real" because it was tripped 100% automatically. Yes, it scared the crap out of me.
Mom cooks a Shepherd's Pie every Saturday Night and sometimes it bubbles over and spills down in to the burners in the oven. Smoke came out... filled the whole house with a silver cloud of cooking smoke particles, and tripping the smoke alarm in the hall AND the i3 4WTR-B. Mom thinks the heat detector may also have been tripped, but I have no way of knowing since it's a mechanical heat detector without an LED.

Seriously, for some reasons, strobes like the one in your room sound like an extremely squeaky see-saw

The Kidde KN-COSM-IBA can silence. It’s good to have near the kitchen. Sure, food may set it off, but at least it will probably go off if there was a grease fire.

It's good to have both an optical and ionization smoke alarm. But I agree with
byebyedarren. That may make you life a whole lot easier.
It happened to me with a Kiddie Photoelectric Smoke Alarm, and a Life Saver look a like.
This reminds me of something that happened earlier today. We were at a hotel, and there was a fire alarm system as well as a household smoke/CO detector in the breakfast room, which was most likely put there for the CO feature. The thing is ionization, and literally went off BECAUSE we were making toast and waffles. I’m gonna call it the waffle alarm.
Awesome! Mum would never let me install an actual fire alarm system in the house..... not that I even know how to...

That was funny how your mother’s cooking set off your fire alarm system with that i3 and what I found most interesting was that Family guard FG83R did exactly what my Aunt’s Kidde 1276 did and does all the time. Goes off when my aunt is cooking. I’ve never really had mine go off with cooking but they did go off last week due to I was testing them lol
I like how you usually have a 24/7 commercial fire alarm hooked up, but also have a smoke detector that 90% of people have in their house

I really think you need to wire the ionazation detector to your system and if need be buy backup batteries for your panel.

We had to take ours down untill we were done cooking when we made home-made bugers. There was smoke in the air, we could see it.

It went off on us FALSELY, twice, just for battery replacement, the first time was an actual fire alarm, cause it was code 3, the second one wasn't a threat, but they went off like, beep, (silence) beep, we only have smoke detectors, and probably 2 or more carbon monoxide detectors... Mostly the smoke detectors went off, some did not, some did, my bedroom smoke alarm had to be taken out, 5 total were taken out. The bedroom smoke detector had to be taken out, and still, the batteries have not been replaced by my father. (yet)
Because his system wasn't an actual life safety system until about a month ago and this video was made years ago.

Wow that is something. Youu should hard wire the ionazation detector to your system. Just remove the whistle chip and turn it in to a system smoke detector so it won't keep bugging the heck out of you

What I do is duct tape a tin foil pan over my smoke alarm and it works! The best part is if u forget about it, it will eventually fall off. I have to put a tin foil pan over it because mine is hard wired, otherwise I would just pull the battery
You should of took the smoke alarm to the basement.

UM NO... If you want to have fire alarm control panel installed in you home... there is no law against that at all ( I asked a commercial fire alarm installer that years ago ) Plus my cousin has system sensor i3 smoke detectors installed in her house, also you can find all kinds of fire alarm products online.
