GREAT SCENERY AND POSH HOUSES....
It was and they were
Loved all the river footage...so lovely! 🤙
Glad you enjoyed it
One of my favorite couples....I would have a drink with these two...OK a few drinks...
They'd make you pay. ;-)
Thank you, James. That was nice of you to say
@@WeirontheMove My pleasure.
@@jamesthomas1244 I think that was for James Edwardson
@@leslierindel4610 Yes, it obviously was...which made it funny in my strange sense of humor.
Sad day today we are at video 95... We have watched all your videos during COVID... Thanks for keeping us sane. Looking forward to more.
There will be more. Eloise
Goring is a great place . The couple that have the convenience store close to the river are really helpful and great. Also a bit further up the road
we had the best fish and chips ever
Maybe we'll get the Fish and Chips next time
@@WeirontheMove . Nice of you to reply.
Yes you must try them. We live in Thailand
Normally we come over every year, and spend
14 days on the river. The Thames is our passion
I originally come from from Bourn End, even worked as a kid at Spade oak farm, so you can imagine what the river means to me.
Let's hope next year is a better year , and we can all travel again freely. Maybe we could all have a
pint at the Spade oak pub next year, should you be in the area. ( Thats the Spade Oak pub next to Enid Blyton house )
Beautiful places love the moving down river and canal
Glad you like them!
It's amazing you had 7k subs 7 months ago. Now you're over 9k 👍😲👏👏
Slowly growing
I like the widebeams , im afraid i couldnt live on an arrow boat. Enjoy your videos ,keep them coming!!!
We like widebeams too, Bill. Glad you like the vlogs
Everyone needs to check that they are subscribed, as I logged onto my PC and a lot of my channels that I subscribe to where not, including this great channel.
Glad you rectified it and are now subscribed
Love love love your vlogs!
Love love love that you love the vlogs, Janet
My top Indian dish??? Is Urvashi Rautela very tasty.
We think you'd struggle to get that dish delivered. Steve. Good luck with that
Weir on the Move but you had a look 😂
Hi both i thought i would tell you my favourite curry ive made myself our local indian in kineton Warwickshire its called a sag garlic lamb tikka massala it is delicious whole garlic cloves rich sauce its my absolute fav love watching you two you always make me smile xx
That curry sounds amazing. Glad you enjoy the vlogs, Lorraine
Nice video as usual guys. Its a chicken bhuna every time with a cheese nan ! Regards Col.
Nice one! Bhuna is a great choice, Col.
Great Videos, new to boating, planning to visit the upper Thames from our mooring on the upper Medway, all the very best
Hi Terence, perhaps our paths will cross when you make it onto the Thames
I see you have new glasses good video.
Yeah I did
Great vlog look forward to watching the next one.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Love your videos thanks for the info you supply
You are welcome, Mark. Glad you find them useful.
Well I am the queen of curries, I make my own with mince meat which My mother always made every Saturday night in Cardiff sth wales, I now live in South Australia and her tradition continues, But if we ever go out for an Indian meal the only curry to have is a Beef Vindaloo, the hotter the better. just Yum
You cannot beat a nice curry. The spicier the better
Sad to say that Beale Park has stopped allowing boats to moor since last weekend - a real shame as it’s a favourite of ours.
That's a real shame. We loved it there. Why have they stopped it?
They’ve made an announcement on their Twitter page saying it’s down to rubbish and damage. The fishing club also got fed up with too many boats taking up the bank space. There’s going to be real problem finding a mooring in this area of the river as so many land owners have stopped allowing boats to moor - Pangbourne and Goring moorings will be in great demand now.
I wonder if the owners of the big houses look at you going past and say I’d love to have that freedom in life . To move along every day . But alas my other half wants this huge dwelling , 8 bedrooms , even though it’s only us two here . The reason , to keep up with her friends . You are far richer in life than all the flash houses
Eight bedrooms! That's not a house, it's a hotel.
Very sadly, Beale park has permanently banned all mooring along its banks. We were there last week when they were putting up the "No mooring" signs. I spoke to one of the workers putting up the signs and he explained that they are fed up with some boaters leaving rubbish, excrement and having fires on the banks. That's another 40 mooring spaces lost on the Thames.
That's really sad because we loved mooring there.
I know it's hard to believe, but I have never had curry. In my part of Michigan we are not blessed with Indian restaurants. We only got Chinese and Italian restaurants during my lifetime. I would have to go down state to find a good Indian restaurant. I will try it someday!
You don't know what you are missing, Gayle.
Another great vlog. Very enjoyable.
Thank you, Linda
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😃❤️ & im in with the drinks 😂
Sound ideal, Jan
Love you new glasses, really suits you Sir. What a great video , loved everything about it. Also love the music. . Happy days.
Than =k you, Ann. Glad you loved the vlog and the music
Gun to my head and I could only choose one genre of food to eat for the rest of my natural.....hands down its Indian!! Having said that I've never had a Naga! I'd love to learn how to cook a proper authentic curry. Great video as always guys...stay safe ❤
Mark, try the Naga. if you like spice you'll love it
@@WeirontheMove I'll give it a go and let you know! Lol
Hi guys and gals, sorry to wimp out on your question but for me it has to be a mild Korma curry. ( hyper sensitive taste buds ).
Korma is just fine if that's what you like. The joy of curry is there's one out there for everyone
Thanks for another lovely adventure up the Thames with all the local info, all good memories of our trip last year. Like your new bins Mark, I think at the moment my favourite curry is Vindaloo that I cook from Rick Stein's book of Indian recipes. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Vindaloo used to be my favourite, then I discovered Naga chicken about 8 years ago. Try it. You won't back
I spent a few days at Reading just before the bridge, moored at the pub which was owned by a trip boat company. The shipper of one was an old merchant seaman, I had a bundle of books onboard bough at a jumble. One was of steam merchant ships and his old ship was in there. In exchange for the book we got free moorings, and a discount on my beer. Also free moorings on their jetty's going back down stream. I think I won on that deal, but I did buy a few beers to keep the Craig going.
I miss being envious of all those lovely riverside house's and boats on the moorings.
Thanks for jogging my memories once again, take care and fair sailing.
Great memories of your life on the Thames and on water.
That has to be one of the most breathtaking vlogs I have ever seen.
Thank you. We're glad you enjoyed it so much
Lamb cashew korma! Yummmmmm
Nice!
Great vlog as always 👍👍
Thanks Ian
Favorite Indian dish...any of them.
Ah, an Indian cuisine lover. Our favourite type of person
@@WeirontheMove Oh yes...Indian cuisine is probably the healthiest food anyone could eat - think spices and ghee. Stay safe - be well.
Another lovely video!
Thank you! Cheers!
Like the "Mysterons" theme going on in Marks glasses lol
Yeah, the light kept reflecting off my massive glasses
I agree with you about the curry apart from curry can only be lamb or goat . That should stir things up a bit!
Lamb absolutely, but not sure about goat. Isn't that more West Indian/Jamaican curry? Lamb Naga would taste nice though
Ahhh you guys are so nice x
Thank you
Great vlog. The curry looked delicious, but I’m surprised you didn’t order a Nasi Goreng in Goring. 😂
Very good, Michael.
That was lovely, what is the piece of music you play through your vlogs, love it! 😍
Hi Anette, it's called Happy Mandolin
Hi guys,
Been absolutely loving your channel... Great work!!! I'm sure you've been asked this before but after years of deliberation I've decided to take the leap, sell up and move on to a widebeam. Are there any boat builders you would recommend and any you've heard should be avoided?.. I'll be looking for something circa 70ft and no more than a few years old. Any advice would be really appreciated. Cheers, Pete.
Hi Pete, we don't have any direct experience with boat builders but have heard some names crop up more than others in a good way. Bluewater boats are supposed to be good. Obviously Aqualine are excellent boats, so I=f you can get a second hand one that would be good. We hear good things about New Concept, and Viking boats are top quality too. We have heard some iffy things about Collingwood, but that was from someone who had a bad experience. It could just be his experience rather than all Collingwood boats are bad. Your best route is to join the boating forums on Facebook and ask the question there. There will be no end of people willing to share their experiences with you.
@@WeirontheMove Thanks for taking the time to reply... Really helpful and much appreciated!!
Morning both would you put up the link to your trip to Braunston on GU as I can’t find it seen most of your episodes and they’re great keep it them coming
I am still looking for that wow WB just haven’t found her yet
Hi Steve, we didn't get to Braunston. We got as far as Gayton junction and turned around. Our ambition was to do the Blisworth tunnel so we headed back for the Thames
That was fantastic thank you..great ambience..I've only recently learned the meaning of 'ambience'
from Micky Flanagan...its any place without poor people 🤣🤣
Oh well, there's none of that here then, Paul. Glad you liked the vlog.
Your sit down intro and outro audio was only Left (ie one speaker) - it corrected for the main vlog - just FYI
Yeah, it seems we are having audio challenges and we're not sure why. Thanks for the heads up
Love the Thames tour. Next year book 2 months. Also loved the walking tour. Stay well. Maybe time for a puppy???
Maybe one day, Bill. We'll see.
Madras for the win. But I shall try a Naga !
Definitely give Naga a go. You won't regret it
Indian food mmmmm. I have got into watching Latifs Inspired youtube channel. He owns an indian restaurant and shows you how to make it all just like they do in the restaurants and takeaways! I am now in desperate need of a spice rack! As for me, Chicken Tikka Dhansak is the way forward :-) Great video. Take care, Mark
Ah, Dhansak, good choice, Mark. Almost there but not quite. We see you shared some good news this week. Maybe your luck is in at last
Does anyone actually check to see if you have paid for the correct amount of time on the river? Love your vlogs. I’ve never cared for Indian food...never really knew what to order. But a couple of the narrowboaters have said they really enjoy it. Also, I find it interesting that you Brits love to get “a curry”. Not many of us in the US would think of getting a curry take away!! Guess you’ve got to like hot food!
You don't know what you are missing, Barbara. Curry is the food of the gods. The lock keepers check to see if you have a licence in the window of your boat as you travel the river
Your audio is still only on one channel during your chat prior to you vlog...any ideas?
A couple of people have said that and to be honest, we're stumped. It is the same set up for when we record on the back of the boat and out and about, and that doesn't seem to suffer from problems.
Almost thought Julie would get through that video unscathed but got slaughtered for snoring in Goring.
She was hardly slaughtered. Plus, you don't see what she says in the outtakes ;-)
@@WeirontheMove Absolutely Nothing!
Quick q... we have decided to watch all your vlogs from the beginning! Love them! What camera do you use for footage please? And do you edit afterwards using an app? Xx
In the description, we list all the equipment we use, Sally. As for the editing, we use i-movies because it comes free with the Apple Mac
The audio from the cabin is sooooo quiet - even with my speakers on full volume. Then once you're outside it's fine. Can you do anything about this?
The simple answer is yes, but only when we discover what the problem is. It is the same audio set up when we are out and about, and that's not quiet at all. Confused.com
@@WeirontheMove I thought that perhaps it was something wrong with my computer. Then I saw that someone else commented on the phenomenon. Ah well, I hope you get it sorted out.
Mark, I didn’t know you were 80! Oops 🙊 I guess that’s someone else, my bad! I really liked your River Thames series!
Thanks, Mark. After this I have to go back to the care home for a rest
well my friends seen all ya vlogs up so will have to watch someone else for a few weeks till you done some more love your glasses you look like jo ninety dad lol next home work you set iam from Daventry, northants are you up to a bit off homework before next vlog here you go home many lock keepers houses still have lock keepers in them.
More vlogs will come, Nicholas. We have no idea how many lock keepers still live in their lock house
Was it a kid steering that boat. I thought they were going to hit the wall and then you. I like the glasses.
It was the man steering
I don’t think anyone was steering. The elements of control were nowhere to be seen 🤣
12:48 some bugger has robbed your medallion .
I know. and my chest wig!
Can you travel at a faster speed on the rivers, or is it the same as canals.....cheers, great video.....stay safe.....
You can go at about 8 MPH, I think, which is about double the speed of the canals.
@@WeirontheMove okay many thanks....
Love the new Glasses, Mark! Thank you for showing us the beautiful houses along the way. I loved the boathouse, too! I hate to admit this...but I have never had a curry. Will you still speak to me??? LOL What is a curry? I love the music you use for the vlog...
Sue! Never had a curry? You don't know what you are missing. Thank you for watching the vlog. All the best and stay safe
Definitely a dhansak 🥘🍚😛😋👌🤣
That's two votes for a Dhansak, Gary
Yay! 2 votes 🗳 for the Dhansak 🍛 c’mon you Dhansaker’s vote now! 🤣👍
Sadly the Beale Park moorings have been closed to boaters...
A few people have said that now. It's a real shame because they were nice moorings
I passed you when moored up on the K&A this week but didn’t see you to say hello. Did you consider a Gold Licence then you could have stayed as long as you wanted. That’s what I did this year for my Thames/K&A trip.
We did, Andy, but concluded that a gold license this year was a waste of money given the movement restrictions. Next year we will almost definitely get a gold license because we can get the use from it
Did that rowboat go faster than your boat?
It did. It was a racing boat and they zip along at super-fast speed.
Is your widebeam 60x11ft or 12wide just interested to be nosey 🤣 gear vlog as always. King Prawn Biryani please
Steve C
Hi Steve, it's 65 x 11. Now, King Prawn Biryani is a great choice. I'm with you there
Hi guys, would a CRT Gold license not be more economical given your love of the Thames?
It would, Steven, but not this year thanks to lockdown and the pandemic. Next year though...
The Themes is so beautiful. Is it expensive to buy a permit.
It costs about 360 pounds for the month or £138 for the week, so it is expensive
You talked about a licence for the Thames, could you enlightened me about this?
As for a curry unfortunately I just like a tikka, so I'm wrong lol
Tikka is perfectly good if that's what you like, Paul. The Thames license for us was 138 pounds for the week or 360 pounds for the month.
@@WeirontheMove
Thank for your reply, why do you need a licence and what does it cover just curious guy's.
Glad to change likes from 666 to 667 😂😂 in the event of any satanical backlash 😆 great video as always 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Sorry to harp on about the audio but your conversation in the cabin is still so low to be unintelligible but once you're talking from outside its fine.Other channels I don't have any problem at all
Hi Ralph, I don't know what is going on. It is the same set up when we are on the back of the boat. We're scratching our heads here
Why did you like Maureen in Goring? Entertaining vlog, thank you.
Don't tell the wife...
Hi your one mauve writing comment you put miilions 17:21 instead of millions
Thank you
Chicken tikka jalfraize..is king of the hill ..not your Naga nonsense...and I get the bigger container... so it out guns yours..the end....😲😲😂👍👍🍻...magic vlog again..
It may be King of the hill, but when you are staring at mountains, it falls way short. Naga Chicken. Repeat after me. Naga Chicken, NAGA CHICKEN!!
Hahaha..👍👍🍻🍻
Do you have and use cell phones
We do, Leslie
@@WeirontheMove Thanks great
Pity we don't have those facilities in South Africa 🤗🤗
Has all mask requirements ended in the UK? I don't see anyone there wearing one?
We have to wear them inside all public buildings but not when we are outside
Husband is MEAN. 😕
Husband not mean!
Please button your shirt up. I love you guys, but the chest shown in a man your age just grates the nerves.
Sorry Sheila, but I don't think you get a say in how I dress. It was summer and very hot.
