There's no reason to react so wildly at the intro? He just quoted a book to illustrate his point and it was actually pretty relevant
Isn't that what he does all the time in his vids?
It’s a bit, it’s a bit for the chat, Stevie’s trying to entertain the chat.
No need for an analogy to explain that concept ngl😂
Acting obnoxious for no reason is kinda Stevie's thing
And putting quotes in the thumbnail that literally weren’t in the video?
It's so damning that a card that once commanded an 80 dollar price tag and was thought of as so oppressive that many people called for it to get hit on the banlist in some way, now just elicits a shrug and an "Oh no... Anyways" from the the opponent. Power creep has completely spiraled out of control over the last few years.
Archetypes nowadays come out with ways to play through 2 or more handtraps in mind when creating them, where as before that's wasn't the case like 2 years ago
Ash Blossom still needs to be banned though...
@@theazuredemon4854 it litterally doesn't the card is starting to get powercrept which is hilarious to think about
The last 6 months was the most crazy. We're not even slowing down, we're accelerating. Who the hell thought stuff like Promethean Princess and Diabellstar was a good idea?
@@phoenix5095no it need to be fckin ban. The fact that Crossout is limited but ash isn’t is ridiculous
I've stopped using Ash Blossom for the most part. It's in my side but running stuff like Drill is a little better. They get their one add and that's it.
Drill & Lick Bird 💀
I've stopped using it, as it gives Fire decks WAY too much of a bonus to play as opposed to the small benefit of negating a single effect.
@@nharviala And that right there, is indicative of the extreme problem of the Tier 0 fire deck domination.
Ash is a card that has honestly overstayed its welcome and has facilitated the need of having a archtype thats 'ash' proof or in some cases like tear or snake eyes have effects in the grave that just makes everything not matter 'oh no you stopped one effect on this card anyways link off grave effect and full combo'
Even cards designed as ash proof that don't draw but set aren't considered good because there 'too slow' i mean imagine how angry people would be over a branded style fusion that was ash proof.....
Point is ash among alot of other cards have kinda overstayed there welcome and tbh konami needs to look at there banlist and maybe think 'hey should we trim more cards to try and balance things better?'
You are correct about the cards needing to be designed to be 'Ash-proof' in respons to it, and I was 100% one of those people who thought Ash needed to be limited or banned several years ago. Banning it now only helps if you also ban all the Ash-proof cards along with it.
@@Dramatic_Gaming yes, ban them trim the fat and clean things up else it'll only get worse tbh. Game needs a overhaul that isn't just rush duel.
It's so infuriating how the Yu-Gi-Oh community instantly dismisses everything if you don't throw around Yu-Gi-Oh terms like jingling keys in the first few seconds. Him talking about another subject and relating it back to the actual topic is a completely valid form of introduction.
I'd be willing to drop ash in master duel if not for maxx c. I still dropped it to 2 though.
I mean the point of the video isn't "drop Ash it's bad", it's "seriously consider the reason why you run each and every card in your deck to make sure it is the best one possible" using Ash as an example, and in any format with Maxx C, trying to make sure that card isn't an auto win is a pretty decent reason to include Ash
@NeoBoneGirl I'd just wanna drop ash because it's giving your opponent an extender if they're on a fire deck. Like dropping veiler in a bystial heavy format. The cards aren't doing what they're supposed to if they're helping your opponent continue to play.
Did you just no-sell a small earthquake at the end of this video?
it's the californian experience!
If I only have 3 non engine slots in a deck rn, I’d be more likely to play Imperm over Ash atm. The reason for this is because with so many cards like Snake Eyes having so many effects, it’s actually better to just negate the entirety of a monsters effects even if you’re more limited. Talents is also really popular this format so it plays around Talents, while also not being an extender for your ppponent with Hiita.
Not sure how many decks are competing in this format with so little non engine tho. Runick is just a weird exception to the rule.
Any chance we can see some content thats not someone elses?
I see his point especially in the current format. Tho I can understand the reliance on Ash since it's the answer to like 80% of other decks in YGO.
pretty much its trash vs fire kings. thats why its bad right now. but its broken against combo decks
Yeah I agree with the point about actually asking yourself why you run a card, but the specific hate towards Ash doesn’t necessarily make sense. Ash is still a great card, Snake Eyes and Fire Kings are just incredibly powerful and can play through a ton of different hand traps. One-size-fits-most hand traps like Ash and Imperm will always have their place.
@@AristotleOfGreeceI don't think there was any hate towards ash in his video. He ended the video saying that he's not saying you should cut ash, he said at the start that you may well decide that ash is the right card for your deck. The only 'hate' here was towards the brain-off mentality of just running something because 'ya gotta', and instead make actual decisions when building your deck.
Ash was just an example because it's one of the most 'ya gotta' cards around, but the point of the video was never to say that ash is bad, it was to give a demonstration of how you might actually try to reason out whether or not it's the right choice for your deck.
@@phiefer3 Hate was probably a bad word for it, but to me it being the central focus of could be applied to any hand trap at any point in time really. Also I do wish he would’ve mentioned that part of the reason Ash is looked at so uncritically is largely in part due to the existence of Maxx C in MD as well as the OCG. You could make a whole bloody essay about how TCG players just blindly follow the OCG no matter what. Again, all in all a good premise, I just think it left out some important context and probably could’ve used some other examples of hand traps and their use-case scenarios outside of Ash.
Hello Fresh is Goodbye Rotten
That kid Stevie is referencing in his anecdote is actually just Stevie from the distant past brought to the future by some time travel shenanigans.
People don't like to admit it but if they want to hurt the Fire meta, Banning Princess will do something instead of hitting stuff like Zealantis...
Every deck that tops a YCS or UDS: main decks 3 ash blossom
Yugioh content creators: but is ash blossom bad?
Mmm, I think that joke somewhat oversimplifies the conversation.
On the one hand, if everyone plays 3 ash because "you've gotta", then of course every deck that tops a YCS or UDS would have it in there.
On the other hand, the video is asking people to evaluate how they use their slots instead of just including things because they're "generically good". Ash still might be the right card, you should just be able to explain why you're running it. Deck piloting isn't the only skill required to be good at the game.
@@TsuikeNovausyeah fair the point being that you have to be able to explain your deck is valid, but assuming that like Jesse Kotton or Chris Leblanc or Hanni or Kamal or Christian Ureana or James Huang or Pak are not already doing that is absurd
They consistently win YCS in multiple formats, and in this format they are all still running ash blossom.
Yes Ash is LESS impactful against snake-eye specifically than it usually is, and it may be a card you side out but it still massacres every other deck and in a deck where you are running 15+ hand traps, ash is 100% still making the cut
At 10:34 you are literally list all the "meta" handtraps that fold vs ash. Just take them out of the deck. If they "do nothing" then why include them
More like trash blossom
ash got power crept, unless a deck formulates around a certain search card, there’s too much extenders in decks now, and it triggers thrust
I think ash is still useful, but in this format, it's not strong enough for what it does. It gives the best deck an extender and that deck already plays through handtraps easily
Funny thing there is ash is just as good now as she was on release, if not better
She just always falls out of formats and comes back, it depends on what the projected top decks are
That’s hand traps in general like mbt said most decks and get through one hand trap like nothing its getting to the point where some decks are half hand traps because then maybe they’ll slow down certain decks
God you are simple stevie
If roulette is your game of choice you get what you deserve LUL
why does stevie want promethian to be snake eyes exclusive ,bad manners i guess
Keep gambling king
Well its very trashy if you get Ashed.
Why you playing roulette? Play Texas Hold'em ir Pit Limit Omaha if you wanna make money dude
Don't listen to MBT he just doesn't want his Branded Fusion Ash'd as much
Ash Blossom and monters with negates ruine yugioh. Ash eeds to be banned forever and maxx c need to be released. It does nothing.
