I like the Silverado ZR2 a lot; just watched TruckKing & TFL reviews. Simply don’t need a full-size truck nor the price tag that comes with it. Been there & done that with a fully loaded F-150 Platinum & the payments get old real quick.
Dude what about the Colorado zr2 then. I’m not selling it. Love that truck. But also wanted a bigger truck that will last a long time. Seen the trucking one. How’s the tfl? Lots of good videos are gonna start coming out
I get you. Won’t know till I get her on a skid pad or do some drifting or donuts. But think it’s a design feature not a flaw that it doesn’t have a wider track. I think it doesn’t need it because of how the suspension works. Truck is stiffer than it needs to be, and it corners eerily flat and can be turned in early when it feels like your already at grip limit. All while being super controllable. Trucks with soft offroad suspensions kinda need to be wide. Besides the benefits of wide track, it also mitigates the body roll of soft suspension. Best I can do is dinosaur class are trying to be prerunners. (Very cool) the Silverado zr2 is something new, think of it more like a Dakar rally truck.
Excited for you getting this truck! F those Commie's on IG haha I ordered the same truck on January 16th. Same color with the tech package and multiflex tailgate that's it, hope I hear from my dealer soon
Damn dude. I called every dealer I knew or had ever worked with. Even called in favors. None to do. 99 percent of them knew how many allocations they had coming. Most 3 some had 4. They had no clue when though and no one had agreed on a mark up yet. I don’t know how this was allowed to arrive before anything else including customer orders. Got it from riverside. Hope they didn’t jack you. Haven’t jumped it yet. I’ll make it right if possible lol you’d have the vin number already so we can check. Lol. Team consumer over here
@@420motors Hell yeah man, I'm in Nor Cal and went with Corning Chevy they only had 1 allocation for a ZR2, the reason they're working with me and getting it is because I was waiting for the refesh trailboss then the zr2 got announced so they went for that instead, totally lucked out. Sadly no build date yet, I can't wait!
Hell yea man that’s bad ass. And yea that’s basically what I got from every dealer I called. Chevy does not seem to know how to market this truck. Good luck man. They saying 4-6 months for a build
@@420motors I agree completely, sadly they really don't know how to market this thing. And that's my problem no-one is telling me how long it'll be, I called a big Vegas dealer and they said they've been seeing 2-4 months but they're not sure. I heard from another insider that they're making 5 ZR2's world wide a week.
I wasn’t supposed to buy. Been saving money. But I jumped at this one. Didn’t like the markup so called everyone and there mom. Realized it was actually a very fortunate find
Hey dude, I recall you had the Ford Raptor for a while and then ordered the Zr2 Colorado? Curious to hear why another Chevy instead of newer Ford Raptor or TRX? Is there a special reason for the full Size?
Still got the raptor build is done but teething problems are taking to long. Love raptors but not a fan of ford bringing 3 modes in ten years. At least as a consumer, figured if I was gonna support one of the big trucks I would spend my money with whoever gave back the most for consumers. The only reason I keep making videos is cause I think they can be helpful to some. So everything weighed in. Chevrolet performance commitment to r&d through constant racing, or ford who screwed over consumers, dodge is a great street truck, all that power is unusable offroad though. So with my love of the zr2 that carried us through without a raptor, I couldn’t not support the zr2 and of course encourage more zr2 ownership since it’s known as the underdog of the group. I like a challenge also. Also stumbled on an early arrival by coincidence so took advantage.
@@420motors thanks for the response. I will say that the Silverado ZR2 in my opinion looks great. Both on the inside and out. Love the fact that it has front and rear lockers. It’s hitting a sweet spot for me also. I have a ‘20 Raptor but Im getting the itch and if it wasn’t for a few niggles with the Silverado ZR2 that would be one of my choices.
Yea. I get it. Chevy for all there work doesn’t know how to properly market this truck. It’s not a dinosaur class. It’s it’s own thing. Prerunners are sexy. But the fact that it’s not a prerunner should be it’s selling point. Wider doesn’t win races. Holding together does. That being said the zr2 will be just as fast down a power line road lol. Maybe if you didn’t have the raptor. But just he notion that you can hold both in your head means your more open than most to the zr2. Looking forward to your future imput on this
@@420motors ok, good 👍 I'm excited about the Silverado, but seeing the Colorado off road never gets boring. I love the way you drive the piss out of that thing and it just takes it!
I've been following the development of this truck for about 3 years, and I'm disappointed... That is no where not even near a raptor competitor... At it cost around the same price?!?!!
We bought specifically because of your concerns. When we first bought the Colorado zr2, no one was talking about it seriously in the same breath as raptors, even Tacoma’s thought they were better than the zr2. So I decided to send it and showed you guys that the little midsize could take there lunch money at any time. From crawling to desert running to rally to tracks, the Colorado zr2 smoked them all. It was a little person that smacked giants around at will. It feels like the Silverado zr2 is saying hold my beer. Either way it’s a good underdog story and that’s what it takes to excite me these days. So I’ll be eager to show it putting the rest to shame. And I expect it to shame built trucks. Not just stock trucks.
@@420motors i get that but gm and Hall engineering made such a HUGE deal about the ZR2, all it is is a trail Boss with front and rear lockers, fancy shocks and a even fancier interior.. It has nowhere near the suspension travel or horsepower of a raptor.. I'm just being honest I prefer GM and drive a Silverado.. And a silver and a blue ZR2 passed me on the expressway last week.. Hopefully your testing will prove me wrong. And no I do not believe what's on paper that's why I am not a fan of Ford.., but we have to admit the raptor is badass for a production truck!!! Your video's are real world..
Yea I don’t care about the front locker but nice that it has it. The shocks though. It’s all in the shocks and gms r&d with the hall family. It’s a sleeper truck. I have zero argument for spending that much and not having a more outrageous machine, but for the same reason it speaks to me. So let’s hope we didn’t get a lemon and like you say let’s see what she can do. Already got her airborne at work where I have jumped the built raptor. Stock raptors and rams better wouldn’t handle it the same. I haven’t even sent the Colorado zr2 there cause it’s too brutal. Dustin from dirt nation hit his head on the raptor cage when I mildly went over it. The Silverado stayed flat controlled and unexcited. It’s definitely a hit man in a business suite
@@420motors that's good to read!! So I went to get a new ZR2 Silverado and you can only get it in 3LT trim!! I want it in custom trim I don't care about the luxurious interior!! A truck that's meant to off-road and get dirty has the top notch interior that doesn't make sense to me...
Sweet. Figured only first private owner on RUclips. But that didn’t make for as good of a title. Every dealer I called had no clue when they were getting any. And I know a lot of dealers
@@420motors I was shocked that he got one so early on given that the media embargo hadn’t been lifted yet. Took me almost 9 months to get my gen 3 raptor. He got his truck in almost no time and didn’t pay adm
Feels wrong. The biggest dealers in the country that I called don’t even know when their allocations come in much less how much mark up. Not joking they all said they don’t even know yet.
A few trucks got to dealers a month ago. Promotion only though. None for sale. No joke call a local dealer and ask them. You might have some good questions for him next time you see him lol
Love my Colorado ZR2. It's just about time to go full-size! Love your videos, wish I lived out west. 😢
Thanks man. It’s about time right
From a current '03 ZR2 owner: this is sick. Need some approach angle testing!!!
For sure
Nice. Been following you since the beginning. Can't wait to see how you test the Silverado ZR2.
Awesome man thank you. Will get some raptor content soon aslo
Awesome Carlos...lots of good videos will be made with the new zr2 and I can't wait. 👍👍
Hell yea. Love this truck. Sigma af. Those trucks trying to be Alpha won’t know what’s coming
@@420motors I agree,brother
Love that color!
Lol I do to. Reminds me of gen 1 classic raptor. Didn’t get to choose color without waiting 4 months though
Hell yeah! Let alone exploring scouting hitting up Cal City. Can't wait to see this in action!
lol.
Heck yeah can't wait to hit the dirt again with you guys and my old class 5 unlimited Baja bug but of course it has to have a Chevy in it
Lol. Like everything on the race course. Not one bow tie but everything has an ls in it

I’m kind of disappointed that they didn’t make it a wider track width like they did with the Colorado ZR2.
