the +10% boost from sage only rounds up visually. you're actually going from 44 to 45.1 (which shows as 46 ingame) that's +0.25% cast speed on top of the +77.5% you would have at a natural 45 knowledge. this results in +77.8% cast speed as shown in the details.
It used to be 20% back in PT3 iirc, hopefully wizard has been tuned sufficiently in other regions to warrant this change becoming permanent, because 20% quick chant was an absolute favourite of mine back then.
The new burn animation after fireball hits is nice to see how long the enemy is burning for - works great for Fire Mastery in Trios for both yourself and the opponent. The in-hand Zap animation is also nice.
20% casting speed is good but still, it is not flat, there is constant diminishing. It is still huge though, especially for low-cost gear, and allows you to have more other stats while not sacrificing casting speed.
I wanted wizard to be buffed but somehow the last few buffs consern me. Meditate and spell overload with quick chant is allows wizard to to be a monster kite master without having any movement speed.
Hi, I'm new in the game and my base gear only have 9 memory capacity, what do you recommend me to play ? Do I cut Spell Overload for mana surge for example ? Because with 9 capacity I can only get 3 spells (fireball, arcane missile and zap). Another question, I saw some build with magic staff and staff mastery perk, it is viable to play this even with low gear ? Thanks for you guides, it learned me a lot of things !

I think it's the general problem with wizard - this buff is great for noob wizards (me) since now it is much easier to play solos and makes it so taht you don't have to have doctorate in positioning to play wizard BUT..... for trios in general and especially skilled wizards (CNG) it's an OP change. I 100% agree that somewhere around 15% maybe something between 13-17% would be the sweet spot and just make quick chant actually viable to pick.
I think they should nerv Meditate, it is way to OP and people are abusing it with unlimited fireballs, no aim needed only spam... And i think they should combine sage and quick chant, it is basically so identical, why do we need 2 perks for the same shit... just make it 10% knowledge +5% spell casting and everyones happy, they did the same to a lot of rogue perks
how much movespeed on wiz for solos ? there are move cap barbs and such running around, are we still able get away with 300ms by being able just burst them and make them scared?

There are many reasons I don’t run meditate. 1.Meditate brings no value in PVP 2.I dont need a fast reset tool because I manage my spells charges correctly and I can easily kill 3 guys without resetting 3.Arcane shield is used in all in or against Rogue Overall meditate is good for beginners to start learning Wizard easier but not optimal
I see many player not bring meditation... is it not a problem? is siting enough to recharge the spell? or is there any way to make it faster to recharge without meditation?
I've played long enough to know these buffs will MOST LIKELY get watered down. However they may remain as it could be to make wizard viable when Sorcerer comes on the scene and if they keep buffing panther
I mean, is quick chant too OP though? If you look at Barb's robust giving him like 20-30HP thats the equivalent of getting 10-15 vigor for one perk. If you look at bards Rousing rhthym, thats giving 14 stats in one cast. We have stuff like warlock antimagic giving 25% magic resist which is the equivalent to two full pieces of gear most of the time, or figher swift which gives anywhere from 10-12 free movespeed which is essentially a second pair of boots
Maybe they (IM) are trying a different strategy, idk if you've noticed but I'm going in with no magic prot pots and I'm finding like 2 on average before I even see a player. Magic pots are much more common now so to compensate they buff wiz a lot more so he feels good to play in general. Once players realize they can spam magic prot things might be a little more fair on both sides, leading to more wiz enjoyers. Just a thought.

I am not sure if the buff is too op for the average wizard player. And when they fix bunny hopping spell casting, I think some cast speed is very much liked.
I like the fireball change, the spell is meant to be crowd control and being good at that would reflect on the 4 casts we get. plus 15 isn't too bad when compared to like PT2/3 when splash was like 25 damage

Perks usually gives something unique that cannot be acquired by items. 10% mag power bonus doesn't give that much dmg, you would rather get a utility perk for survival kiting

it IS flat. knowledge has a casting speed conversion rate that diminishes at 5 10 20 50 80 and 100 but +%speed doesn't.

There was a bug, where you couldn’t find any mag pot in dungeon. Thàts it’s back to normal

They said 3 weeks ago they have no plans to remove spellcast bunnyhopping. They said it wasn't originally intended but they don't think it's a problem

Zap is 8 meters, when you hit there is a sound + animation
