That's like finding gold in this day and age, RGB or component on little sets is hard to beat. Great thing about small CRTs is you can store 4 14 inch ones vs 1 29 inch set and you don't have to visit the chiropractor after you lift it.

I bought a General Electric branded Scart set from ebay, had the same chassis, tube and osd but the outer shell was different. It was $90 AUD free shipping and had one layer of bubble wrap in a single layer box. Made it safe somehow

wow lol, it costs me about $90 just to send a tv of our size within Victoria once ive doubled boxed it (very large parcel after this process). Great buy with free postage. Handy to know the internals are the same, good stuff indeed!

@@rgbrob General Electric 14GM8XA, I sold it after upgrading to a 20" scart set. General electric must be under the group that owns RCA / Thomson. Bit of a fall from grace the RCA brand, first mass produced colour tv and a respected brand until the 80's

I have 3 of these in Thailand. 2 Saba and 1 Thomson, exactly the same chassis. I've never seen the RCA model though, must be for export. One very neat feature of that set is the power on/off via SCART: turn on/off your console when the TV is on standby and it will turn the TV on/off.

That’s awesome to know each idea is the same, thank you!

Hi Rob, this one was very interesting for me, because I own a Thomson tv that is very similar looking, but a 20" set. It even has a very similar remote (but mine is called mb100). Same OSD as your RCA. I'm gonna check if the service menu works also, one day 😅. I'm in PAL land Sweden, and have had a lot of different CRTs throughout the years but only kept my Thomson as the only CRT left. It is enough for me and my small apartment for retro stuff. The color, brightness, contrast, right sharpness and analoglike picture pop and is perfect for what it is, I believe. I love my smaller Thomson tv for dvd and snes/n64 era games. I run rgb scart, looks great! Thank you

@@R_GhostX9 Your TV sounds like a great unit, it will be interesting to see if you can enter the service menu the same way, im sure it will work.

Thank you so much! I tested to go into the service-menu from your description, and it worked, exactly as your guide! I managed to fix my slight HS to the left and now it is centered and perfect! 🎉😊

I found it left for death on the Street, it is from 1995 with tech from 1992 in it.
Of course with SCART and fron AV.

Hello, I have a Thomson 14MK135 TV. I bought it new from a person. In its original box, with documents. I bought it for retro gaming, and decided to set up the geometry, went to the service menu according to the instructions from the espec website. At first, when I had a MiSTer FPGA connected to the TV, I could not get into the service menu, but as soon as I turned it off, I immediately managed to enter .. and while in the service menu, I launched the MiSTer.. I managed to set up the geometry almost to perfection. After setting up, I restarted the TV using the button on the remote control, everything as in the instructions, the changes were saved .. but after the service menu, all the settings in the normal menu were lost .. the language was reset to English, the brightness and contrast settings were lost .. and the main problem that I can not get rid of is that every time I turn on the TV, the settings menu appears .. namely, on the language selection item. What could this be connected with? Maybe the fact that I forcibly launched the console in NTSC while in the service menu? Perhaps its service menu can only work in PAL. And perhaps the problem is in the firmware.

NTSC colour decoding on a small set is unusual.

Design is the same as Thomson. Even remote control look the same for 21" Thomson Black Pearl 21DG13KG.
