Dude, why did you not keep going ? Your videos are amazing
I appreciate that! I still have plans to, I’m just trying to figure out how it all fits in my daily grind. I’m making videos every day for a living, so finding the time and energy to make my own personal projects can be difficult.
Alright, good luck with this shift!:) I just think you got pretty far with just 4 Videos..
@@samueljwalter keep going...this is really good hope you somehow find the time to continue this
I agree
@@samueljwalter 💯💪
Love this! Wish you would’ve continued with your channel. I would have learned a lot from you 😭💕
Great video. Top-notch production value AND an original idea is hard to find. Come back! We need more videos from you!!! (Posted 11 months after this video was published)
Thanks so much! I'm quite busy at the moment, but a new video is on my to-do list! In the meantime, feel free to message me if you have any questions or ideas.
Thanks sam.
I was in big need of learning this.
Keep providing such minor aspect of film making to us.
This is amazing! Your so knowledgeable about these things!
+Baytop Foster haha thanks man, hope your happy I finally put out a video. Now you can stop asking me about it ;)
That's a killer effect! You better believe I'll be using it in the future!
Glad you liked it! One thing I really wish I covered but forgot to: You will want to record your sound externally if you are able and sync it up in editing. If the sound is coming from your camera, it will sound further away when you move your camera. There are great tutorials on how to do this if you need help!
Sam Walter I use a lab mic, so that shouldn’t be an issue, but thank you!
So helpful! Thanks!
Very helpful video, not sure why you stopped making videos but this was well done and we need more from you!
This is great advice, if only I could find something like this for riding motorcycles!
One of the most helpful videos I’ve seen on RUclips. Hope you decide to pick this back up :)
When I watched this I felt like you'd magically appeared, in order to resolve my SUPER BORING interviews (with scientists). Thanks very much!!
student of the game and learning. thank you for taking the time to do this
This is awesome, I taught myself to do the exact same thing so I was wondering if anyone else had learned this trick as well.
You are most welcome Sam, my man! I am looking forward to your future videos on YT!
This EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. Thanks
This was so helpful. I didn't even think about a script. That's a great idea.
Thank you! Totally forgot to mention this, but make sure you record your audio externally and sync it, or at least find a way to keep the mic close to you for all takes. If the audio comes from
The camera, it will sound far away when you move the camera. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
It seems that with 1 camera or multiple cameras, impeccable timing wins the day. Of course 1 camera is easier on the budget rentals, but rapid-fire dialogue or repartee shot live with multiple cameras to a live mix on the fly or livestream with ISOs should be easier to get to a final product with less editing time. Both have merits to stay in budget.
Thanks for video
thats amazing
Should we shoot our video 3 times with 3 angles
Good video! I learned something...thank you!
Thanks man. Great informative
More videos 🙏
Sam, do you have any other places online where you are producing content? Even if it is for clients. I just want to check out your work. I have a feeling you are doing great stuff. Pretty please.
woow 👏👏
I love your videos bro
Super awesome man...
This video is very helpful
GENIUS
BEAST
how do you edit the audio from different takes together tho? thanks
So sorry I'm just seeing this. This is a great question and something I overlooked when I made the video a few years back. It is best to record your audio externally, meaning with a microphone that is not plugged into the camera. You can see in the wide shot that I have a book mic above my head. This way, the audio sounds the same no matter where the camera is. I can't believe I overlooked that!
Haha nice idea
Amazing content short and convincing!
Glad you liked it!
This is amazing - Thanks Man!
Amazing Dude, thanks 🙏
You are welcome, and thank you!
Geniussss!
Hi Sam , thank you for this video. It's very good and useful information.
Bro upload more content , ur good
you got it!
New video this Friday. This comment miiiiight make an appearance...
Great video!
Awesome! This is what I'm searching. But how about I'm shooting an timelapse video and has not dialog? I can't shoot it 3 times
Really AWESOME video, especially the advice about the script! That was *very* valuable. Too bad you stopped! If you come back I'll be your first new subscriber!
highbird21 hey, thanks! I posted an update on my channel’s discussion board a while back about making more videos. I’ve actually tried a few times last week but some crazy, inconsistent rain has been holding me back. Looking forward to cranking out a few new ones soon!
Amazing!! Thank you!!
You're so welcome!
Yeah that was really awesome
1 this video is the awesome sauce 2 you use final cut?!?!
+Joshua Bates thanks! Glad you liked it. And yes! We use final cut at the news station I work at, so I've grown used to it and actually prefer it over premiere pro, even though PP is the objectively better NLE
Greetings! From Indonesia... ✌️
I want to make a music video using multicamera angles but using one camera only. is that possible??
Wooow i lovevthis
All I needed to sub.
Excellent video from visual, sound to presentation and tutorial. Very pleasing to the eye and ear! Great job buddy!
Thank you, Raymond! Glad you enjoyed it!
Can you do this with a camera phone?
Bro, you need to come back on YT
Sam, this was very helpful. How did you do the script animation with the moving highlights?
Thanks, my guy. This video makes me cringe so much, so I appreciate the kind word! Haha
The animations were done in after effects. I think the highlights are just rectangles with their blend mode set to let the black text show through. The blend modes are usually somewhere around the opacity slider. I probably lowered the opacity a touch as well to make them more transparent.
The animations were done by key framing the width property of the rectangles. I set the anchor point to the far left side of each rectangle so they would scale correctly from left to right. I also “easy-eased” the animation so they would have that smooth look.
Sorry if that all sounded like rocket science. If you are new to animation, there are def some great tutorials online that will touch on all the things I wrote about. How that helps!
@@samueljwalter Thanks, Sam! Yes, very helpful.
We are often our biggest critics. No cringe felt on my end. Keep up the good work.
thanks. I never want to film from one angle because its such an amateur move
How can I do this with canon camera
How to shot conversation video
Which software your using for Editing
Final Cut Pro X
How is it posible to shoot with one camera once
How do I create the script
Audio ?
Good observation. Best if you record it externally and sync it up in post. Let me know if you needed any help with that! More videos on the way!
Heat atop do you use to edit????
Dude one or multiple camera??
Nice one bro.
Please what app did you used in That editing?
Final Cut Pro X
@@samueljwalter does it have in points n out points
@@mckokoma2488 If you are asking if you can select what parts of the clip you want before putting it on the timeline, yes it has that ability.
Awesome! What software are you using for editing?
Thanks! Final Cut Pro X
what a nice voice !
Sam, I'm hoping you can help me! I want to film 2 camera angles simultaneously. I'm a teacher, and have to teach online due to covid-19. I want to read a story and have my face on one 'view' and the book on another angle. I can do this via Zoom using my ipad. But zoom only records the "host's" camera feed. I've been trying a work-around using Photobooth and Quick Time player. (I'm a Mac person!) I've seen a RUclips clip of another teacher using Quick Time to record her SCREEN where both camera angles are playing in separate programs! BUT....unfortunately when I plug my phone (Oppo) or my hubby's iphone in, the QuickTime player doesn't recognise them, so they don't show up on the little menu next to the 'record' button (i.e. the downward arrow menu). So I still can't get the second camera angle up onto my computer screen! Any suggestions please?? :) I need a quick, fail-safe hack so i can record lessons etc. i don't have time to edit multiple clips and sinc them etc. :) Thanks!
Help me to understand your situation a little bit better. Is the book an ebook? Assuming your Mac has a working webcam, you can do this through QuickTime. Open up QuickTime, select "File > New Movie Recording." This should make your webcam appear. Resize and position your webcam so that it is big enough to see your face, but small enough to not obstruct the text. Then, go to "View" and make sure "float on top" is checked. This will keep your webcam on screen no matter what application you are using. Finally, go back to "File" and click "new screen recording." Follow the instructions on the screen and you should now have a recording being made of your webcam and the ebook on the screen. To end the recording, just go up to "File" and there should be a prompt to end the recording. Hope that helps!
The trouble is that angles where the presenter is talking, but not looking at the camera, but way past it, totally suck.
Thanks for sharing!
wait im the only one who got Sheldon from big bang theory vibes? sexy sheldon tho!
shit i thought it was some wix ads at first
Bro i need some more helo
sorry I'm three months late on this. What can I do for ya?
What about the audio
Aswin m good question. Something I wish I had brought up. You will need to record your audio externally for the best outcome. You can set up a microphone like the one you can see in the wide shot, or you can just put your phone nearby with voice memos open if you are on a budget. You will have to sync up the audio in your editing software, but there are plenty of great tutorials online that can explain that in more detail.
@@samueljwalter Thnk u
One more doubt.. U said u recorded the speech 3 times how many times u recorded the audio?
Love❤😘 you
I'm not sure, but it seems like I'm being rickrolled

Dude I am going to be Entrepreneur...will you want me to join....IN INDIA
I want to make piano videos so cutting them won’t work...
For a music video, it would probably be best to pre record the music, then shoot several takes from different angles pretending to play along. Then you could line up the clips to the original track. There are plenty of great tutorials online for making music videos like that!
Sam Walter thanks for the advice!
awesome video!
