WRONG! Police are ONLY allowed to do such things when they have their LIGHTS AND SIRENS on, AND are responding to an EMERGENCY. This is a privilege they routinely abuse and this woman is correct to call their actions illegal in Australia.
@@soylentgreen6082 Sirens can alert a target that police are approaching before the police want them to know about it. Many times I've seen them operate with lights only.
I love the fact they not only have a dashcam, but wanted to use a phone while driving to take a picture of of a cop doing something perfectly legal, and normal.
Don't drive in my city, then. No, seriously don't. Drivers are so s*** in this place, I haven't driven here for a decade. I'd prefer to be in a damn public bus, than in a car on the same roads with this s***s.
in my city cops turn their lights on at intersections and turn them off after they got through. you see undercover cops literally drifting around, there have been quite a lot of accidents involving officers over the years. now that's nothing to get upset by, but they created a special unit just to hunt down "posers, tuners and speeders" which targets anyone who has any modifications on his car whatsoever (supercars get a pass though, they don't want problems with lawyers), anyone who goes slightly fast during a time when nobody is on the road compared to the cops who go twice as fast in rush hour traffic, and so on. A copper almost ran me over the other day, no lights on nothing. He just went 60mph in the city when I was standing right next to the road ready to cross it not expecting a streetracer because you can hear streetracers coming, they have loud exhausts or at least turn up the music when they are driving fast. Can't hear the copper coming with his diesel 4cyl engine. It's a 20mph zone. Do you honestly expect that special unit to stop the copper though? Do you expect them to check if there's an emergency if a copper is running red lights with his siren? No. They work for the same team. If I made the same move I'd be looking at a 3 months driving ban, a 600€ ticket, points on my driving license and so on. And that move wasn't even dangerous if he had done it at night or in the morning when nobody is around or with his lights on. Our government and our officers are making money with tickets, they couldn't care less about safety that's why they put speeding traps in a place where there hasn't been a crash for years because everyone is speeding there, instead of putting it in a place where it would improve safety. Now that's upsetting.
@@connor8663 guess I'll make a TL;DR -> in Germany the police breaks the speedlimit regulary, using their siren while not running an emergency and so on. they only enforce the speedlimits to collect money, not to improve safety, that's why the speedingtraps never caught me when I was driving dangerous but only when I was moving with traffic not doing anything wrong or dangerous. and if you have money speedlimits don't affect you, nobody will bother you and you can go as fast as you want. you would have to be incredibly unlucky or stupid to get in serious trouble over speedlimits or minor traffic violations if you're A) superrich B) an officer.
@@アマ-p2l Fine then, I'll be the one person to thank you for typing up such a lengthy comment. I read through it and I appreciated what you had to say. Others should too as it is actually important. Cops don't always do the right things and yes, they sometimes abuse that power. It's terrible... Sirens should NEVER be used for "personal gain" because it is simply wrong to do so. If crap like that is happening, it's no wonder why people would lose hope in the police force. Thankfully I think MOST police are doing their job right and do the right thing. Sadly, it's the ones who don't that we remember...
14:06 he's a cop with the lights on he can do what he needs to do to respond to an emergency all you proved was your ignorance. the police can break any law on the road as long as it does not endanger others. he can, in this case, stop the whole intersection if necessary and if you try to go past him without permission you can be arrested if you block police in an emergency situation you can be charged if you become difficult that can become hindering a police officer a jailable offence. every other week we get this stupid ignorance.
funny cause I know that road and have never seen police there. Literally a road away I had to break the road law because I had an ambulance behind me at lights with their liights and sirens going. scary moment for me as a p plater
@@malachiyoung302 realistic, you shouldn't have had to do that, and the ambulance driver should have known that. It it protocol to turn the siren off if they cannot make it through an intersection due to backed up traffic. @@thebaconsonful No, even when a emergency vehicle has lights on bit no siren it can do that bit ONLY if it's not going to cause an accident and that also applies to lights and siren on...Just because an emergency vehicle only has its lights on doesn't mean its not heading to a call, the siren is only warranted IF the call is serious enough and they need an unimpeded way to the call.

“He just did an illegal thing”
*Can’t explain what the “thing” is*
“thats illegal” um no their lights are on they can do what they have to to get where they are going sorry
in my city cops turn their lights on at intersections and turn them off after they got through. you see undercover cops literally drifting around, there have been quite a lot of accidents involving officers over the years. now that's nothing to get upset by, but they created a special unit just to hunt down "posers, tuners and speeders" which targets anyone who has any modifications on his car whatsoever (supercars get a pass though, they don't want problems with lawyers), anyone who goes slightly fast during a time when nobody is on the road compared to the cops who go twice as fast in rush hour traffic, and so on.
Nice life story...

Forcing you to break a road rule could lead to you or someone else getting hurt, which they would be responsible for, and puts more strain on the ambulance service.
