Thanks for exposing these scammers - Suzuki should take serious actions on these scammers. Unfortunately the service centres in India try to scam their customers. Thanks again for exposing these guys.
Hi Sachin and Kiran - why don't you tweet this and tag Suzuki India and Global? By your explanation - its very clear that its a clear case of cheating and whoever is responsible - has to own it up and doesnt repeat it again. Maybe if Suzuki intervenes - they might budge.
The Service Centre you went is infamous for their services. Even their normal service centre for smaller bikes is involved in such activities, for servicing they simply wash and give back the bikes.
Scams like these are becoming so common nowadays. Last month me and my friend went to a TVS service center for his bike service in our city jaipur. We left our bike there and came back home. In the evening they called us and said your bike is ready. The moment we reached there, we saw : 1. They didn't washed the bike. 2. They said that they have changed engine oil but in reality (when we rode the bike) - The performance was exactly same as before we left it for service. We asked them to let us check if they've really changed the engine oil or not - The moment we saw the color of the oil it was completely black !! (New engine oil color is Sky bluish). We complained there and made a video of the engine oil and everything! They finally changed it but it wasted another hour of our life ! We don't expect all this from THE AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTERS (at least)🙏🏻 I just hope that things get better and they all just stop SCAMMING US. !!
Thanks for sharing this experience.... Ths will make bike owners more vigilant towards AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTREs..... .... Some official from Suzuki should monitor this and act ASAP...
Thanks for ur update Really appreciate ur concern that no one should get cheated irrespective of nature of bike at service centre - due to their hard earned money. This indicates ur caring & humble nature . Keep it up ur good work & wish you both " All the Very Best in Life " Congratulations for ur new bike GS & addition of new shop earlier

Thank you for sharing this I can say that the handwritten bill looks like someone made the seven hundred (700) number to seven thousand (7000) by adding an extra zero.
Suzuki service centers are the worst. I own a Gixxer and I was charged for tyre replacement under warranty by the desk guy and they also damaged the rim, the bike was not even a month old back then. But I reported the issue to the manager the next day he refunded my money back and asked me why did I pay for under warranty service. I lashed out at him literally the guy who's supposed to give the correct information is not doing his job and was frequently involved in such scams. Since then I have stopped going to the service centre. I just do it myself.
I am thinking to buy gixxer sf. Do u recommend buying it and can u pls explain more about after sales services and parts availability? Pls share your experience
Hey Kiran and Sachin! First of all, a much needed video on the service centers! Unfortunately, majority of service centers are scamsters! Can you believe if I say my sister was scammed for 7K in service for a Honda Activa 125? They charged her 400 for washinga for a scooty?!! and brakepads, oil change and what not everything costing 1k above, and telling her they've used the topppest quality parts hence the price. When I got to know about it the next day, I had to literally threaten with calling police and creating a scene in fron of other customers for them to accept their fault and they paid back 5.5k. it was a horrible experience, but sucks that we don't have any good service centers in Navi Mumbai which don't cheat( at least not in Honda, TVS and Maruti suzuki.)
Suzuki centers r bad in Thane. i went with burgman for 4th service. and the screwed it so bad that it continuously gave issues. they dont even acknowledge their mistakes. very very bad service. Hope you guys dont get such issues again from them. all the best, n keep wrooming
Suzuki is only concerned about their sales rather than servicing network. In this case I guess after owning a middleweight bike I've to do each and every maintenance, repair all by myself so that my bike will never have to be claimed via insurance
suzuki service centers do this across the country......my access scooter twice they charged unreasonable amout and i had to argue with them to get it removed from the bill......they charge service charges for servicing the bike and along with it they added engine opening and cleaning charges and it was added for each compartment separately
The Authorised Service Center Manager's cabin there you always find Suzuki India 2 Wheeler's chief Engineers mail id. Mail him with details of something too wrong.

I had an unfortunate crash with my VW over the weekend and as you might be aware... VW needs to score loads of miles before they can be at par with even Hyundai as far as service is concerned. Just the front bumper was damaged and the bracket which holds the left fog lamp was broken due to which the fog lamp was loose. The guy quoted me around 20k asking to replace the bumper, grille and both the lamps, and use my insurance. I told him to take a hike :P Finally we settled on just changing the fog lamp and a portion of the grille within just 4.4k, that too because just the bracket didn't come as a separate item had to be purchased together as a complete kit. Still VW is pretty expensive! Anyways, I wanted peace of mind wrt service and that was one of the main drivers for me buying a KTM. So far the experience has been fine.
Suzuki service centre does this many times. Incidence also happened with me where they changed parts without confirmation which doesn't needed and then didn't refunded money nor took back parts

This has nothing to do with Suzuki. It is the people running the sevice center and very common in India. 7000Rupees to lace and spoke a pair of Excel or DID rims is extremely cheap in any part of the world. Even 200cc Dirtbikes usually cost more for a professional lace job without the tubeless layer. Your insurance guy pulling out 1500rupees for the same job on a GSA is just unheard of and highly questionable at this point. The invoice issued doesn't add up as well cos Suzuki never sells the rim as a set. They are all individual components down to the 32 nipples, 2 sets of 16 spokes, 5x rear shock hub etc. To give a lump sum figure just seems fishy. I have bought stuff from suzuki dealers in 3 different countries and have never seen this. Getting charged for battery charging is just unreasonable. Also there shouldn't be any need to charge a battery unless its been sitting around for more than 6 months. This whole scenario doesn't add up in any way at all. By the way, what is this need to get the dealer to wash the bike when it is in for a service? I just don't get it.
