Welcome back, Talk Ville family! A big thank you to Michael, Tom, Ryan, and Bryce for five amazing seasons so far. Onward to season 6, which kicks off with the introduction of Aaron Ashmore, who portrayed the perfect Jimmy Olsen.

Martha going to the fortress, Clark banished to the Phantom Zone, Zod taking over Lex, Jor-El asking Martha to kill Lex. Really strong acting scenes and opportunities for Michael to show he can take on a different personality like Tom has had to do everytime he comes in contact with different Kryptonites. This has always been a favorite episode of mine.
Talkville is back with season 6!! So excited. Such an epic season opener. Rosey continues to kill it as General Zod. Clark deals with struggles in the Phantom Zone and finds unexpected help. Martha has a very moving heart to heart with Jor-El, one of the best moments of this whole episode. JIMMY OLSEN makes his debut. Best way to spend Wednesday.😀🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤

You guys are like living legends when it comes to Superman and lex. And for sure no doubt, Smallville will always outdo all of the other shows that's about Superman. I don't care what you all say.
I really loved this episode. Rosenbaum's performance as Zod gave me chills. It kind of made me wonder what a full-on villain Lex would have or could have been.
Loved this season on rewatch, I’m excited to see your commentary guys. I love the darker tone of this season and the new characters Jimmy and Oliver are pivotal to the rest of the show. I enjoyed the shift to a more Metropolis focus, and to me that’s what kept Smallville fresh and probably why it lasted as long as it did. They let it change instead of forcing it to stay the same.

@asyouwish3636 my thoughts exactly and my favorite season. As a massive Clark/Chloe fan I loved the moment where they reunited in the DP. When his eyes were scanning the room for her he hadn’t looked at her that way before. Chloe has always been for me that constant presence in Clark’s life. I love how she embraced him twice. She was strong without him but seeing him again her face lit up like a Christmas 🎄 tree. It’s my personal belief that if Jimmy hadn’t have been in the picture Clark and Chloe would have started to date. Anyone but Lana lol 😂 don’t get me wrong I don’t dislike her but geez 🙄 the Lana drama again and again. Chloe this season still protects Clark even when Lana pressures her to spill the beans. Lana might be Chloe’s friend to a point but Chloe will always remain true and loyal to Clark. 🌹🌹
I’ve always thought, although it hasn’t been proven, that Brainiac hijacked the plane to crash it into the Fortress because he couldn’t launch a direct assault without Jor-El vaporising him. So, he took control of two people that Jor-El might hesitate to kill. 2. When a phantom possesses someone, they gain the powers of the habiting phantom. I think Brainiac wasn’t certain whether Lex would inherit those powers form Zod's phantom, which is why he prepared by giving Lex abilities beforehand. Technically, Lex should still have those powers after Zod was removed because Brainiac altered his body, and not the phantom giving him powers. The changes were physical, not spiritual. 3. Like Michael, I initially thought Zod was trapped in the emblem, but it was later revealed that the emblem is actually a portal to the Phantom Zone. Trivia: It was also great seeing Leonard Roberts, who played Nam-Ek, acting alongside a non-black character who was comfortable with him. For those unaware, in 2020, Roberts shared his experience from *Heroes* in 2006, where his white co-star, Ali Larter, refused to do love scenes with him because he was black. She allegedly didn’t want him touching her, blamed him for their poster not selling, got into arguments with him over nothing, rejected his olive branch, and went to the director to complain about their scenes right in front of him. However, she had no issue performing similar love scenes with a white co-star. This led to Roberts being written off the show as directors, show runners chose a blonde white girl over the black actor even though she was to blame and the cast knew it. He remained silent for years until 2020, when he shared his story publicly. His account was confirmed by cast and crew, and Tim Kring, the showrunner, expressed regret over how the situation was handled. This sparked a conversation on racism about industry, Ever since I learned about this, I’ve avoided watching anything featuring Ali Larter, why? Because one thing I hate is racism, you are actor, he is an actor --- just act.
A strong return of TalkVille and the joy of seeing you guys, again 💜💜 with à powerful and visually extraordinary episode, Zod 👍 Great chat and guest and great questions ❤❤ I missed you so much 🙌🙌💙❤💖 !!
Excited for the start of the sixth season of TALK VILLE today! Glad Tom, Michael, Ryan & Bryce enjoyed "Zod" so much! It is one of the greatest season premiere episodes marking the first episode on The CW! You both mentioned the merger brought no change to life on set, but at the time, it definitely felt like the first of many changes. Love Tom's mention of "Lawrence Of Arabia", and Tom totally rocked as Clark throughout a variety of different scenes in this one! The "Super fight with Zod and Clark" is extremely epic, and I enjoy the scenes in the "The Phantom Zone" a lot too! It's always more fun when you guys are in the studio together! Thanks for including MY Question! Fingers crossed for more of my questions to be selected in the absolutely amazing Season Six! Can't wait to check out the latest issue of Wingman Magazine! Congratulations To Brian!
I'm very happy to have Talkville back Season 6 and 8 are my favorite seasons but I can't wait for all the Green Arrow stuff hopefully in one of these seasons we could see Justin Hartley on the podcast he was a great Green Arrow
🥳 woo hoo welcome back! so great Tom is in studio 🤗 S6 the best and baddest as each season continues to be better than the last 👏 Oliver Queen CAN'T WAIT plus Crimson 🤗 and cage matches and finally Lana finds out! S6 is gonna be bumpy but one hell of a ride!
Welcome back! I’m just here to say that, of course, love the show. I love the podcast… But Tom’s facial expressions and emotions are absolutely stellar!! A phenomenal actor!! ❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
One of my favourite moments is when General Zod (as Lex) says “Kneel before Zod”. That’s such an iconic line Also when Clark defeats Zod by trapping him again it almost mirrors the scene from Superman 2 where Superman kneels in front of General Zod and he crushes his hand. It’s such a great reference
Welcome back guys! I hope you're all staying safe with those fires over there. On a happier note, my girlfriend has just started watching Smallville and she's fallen in love instantly.
Wow, it so great to watch Talk Ville again! 😁 Wonderful distraction amidst the chaos. Welcome season 6!! Made my morning - thank you so much guys. ❤ This was a great season opener. I loved that moment at the beginning when Clark was hopelessly floating in space, then suddenly he falls feet first into the phantom zone. I really liked the special effects in this episode. The phantom zone itself was done so well. Kudos to post production. Michael, you did a fantastic job as general Zod. You played a very stoic, evil, no nonsense, Kryptonian soldier very well. Tom, you always did a great job of playing Clark - whenever I think of Clark Kent, your portrayal is the one that was the best in my opinion, and the most relatable! I'm being 100% honest. You should be proud of everything you did on this show. When Lois and Martha crashed - I think that Jor-El guided the plane to land/crash near the Fortress. I also wonder if Jor-El helped Lois with healing in some way (when Lois described the warm light and knowing she would be okay.) Perhaps even Jor-El can sense that Lois is tied to Clark's future? Just a theory. Like one of the callers pointed out - the scene with Lois was very well done. Tom--your facial expressions, and Erica's, really sold that scene. It's a little hint as to where Lois and Clark are at, in their relationship journey. They're drawn to each other, but not ready to think about feelings or how deeply they care ...so, that hand holding was a bit of a tease of things to come down the line. The way Clark looked at Lois when she described the fortress - that she was in awe of something that was part of his Kryptonian heritage (but doesn't know that yet,) not scared or freaked out. Clark didn't expect that, and Lois allowed herself to be a little vulnerable to share that moment with him. I loved it! ❤ Anyway, everyone in the cast was on their A-game in this episode. Kristin did a great job - that hurt MY hand when Lana's hand got stabbed. Ouch! I agree with Tom to a degree that Lana might be playing Lex (I LOL when Tom said "she's playing him, dawg.") In the end, you guys will see that Lana learns a thing or two from the Luthor's influence, takes notes, and does a few questionable things, later on... I watched this episode closely before I watched the podcast, and I always catch something new. I noticed that when Clark escaped the Phantom zone, there were bright streaks in the sky - one was Clark falling to earth, and there were 6 other streaks of light going in different directions ( which I assume are the phantoms.) Who doesn't love the Clark vs. Zod fight scene?! That was epic! 😳😃 Bryce, thanks for asking about how they filmed that - I was wondering too! Thanks for your witty synapsis of this episode too, Bryce. 😂❤ Well, it's been a hell of a few weeks for so many people. Thank you guys for making my Wednesday a bit brighter. 🥲🫂❤️ My love and thoughts go out to people dealing with these disasters or any personal issues. Please, if you are able to help others, do it. My mental health has gone through the wringer lately. My cousin lives near where the fires were, but thankfully she's okay. My heart goes out to everyone affected by that disaster! Thanks for continuing to film and share Talk Ville with all of the fans of this special series. It's helping me through a depressive episode, and continues to inspire me to embrace my creative side. Love you all! ❤👍✌️
I love how when Clark "kneels before Zod (Lex)", it's a nice homage to Superman II (iykyk) 😎... I give this episode a solid 🌹🌹 (2 roses)... #LoveThePodcastFellas #TalkvilleWednesdays

A humble fan from Chile here is so happy to have you guys back, it's such a fun podcast to watch every Wednesday. This was a cool season premiere, watching jor el showing gratitude to Martha was one of my favorite scenes because he's aware of the good job Martha and Jonathan did raising Clark, the fight scene was brutal, though a little unfair xd. Kneel before Zod!!!! We are back!!!! Woot woot!! Welcome back boys!! Happy season 6 premiere day! ❤ So excited for this season!!! Thank you so much for doing this ❤️ Happy TALK VILLE Wednesday ❤
Greetings from Perú! My mom is a big fan of the show. She loves you both, always sad about Lex becoming the bad guy and happy for the great message Clark shares.
*Yes, let's start SEASON 6! HAPPY NEW EVERYONE!! I'm looking forward to the JUSTICE episode and introduction to Green Arrow. Please... have Justin Hartley on show.*
I rewatched this episode just recently with my mom (we are rewatching this show again, we are about to start on season 9) and the part where Zod was extracted out of Lex I legit screamed out 'OH MY GOD! THATS TERRANCE STAMP! I RECOGNIZE THE BEARD' and my mom looked at me in shocked cuz she didn't picked up in that part after all these years of watching this show. I was so giddy. This episode for the start of the season was so big. This is a long step from being a show with just freaks of the week it's a nice glow up. Although the continuous Lana/Clark rollercoaster ride is very annoying and it continues on in season 8 so be prepared for that. Great start for the new season of Talkville. Michael, I hope you're staying safe out there, the fires are freaking crazy
@divinelangene6813 I 100% agree, look I love Kristen I really do but seeing how Clark progressed after Lana left like working at the Daily Planet with Lois, saving people in Metropolis, hanging out with Oliver Queen and getting closer to the Justice League, he was getting closer and closer to becoming Superman but the moment Lana came back it's like he took a lot of step backs like working on the farm once again, saving Lana numerous times while the city needs him more. It downgraded him and that's what I didn't like about Lana coming back in season 8. We were so close to seeing Clark/Lois getting together then Lana just randomly comes in after what 7 months of no contact? That's just- come on Smallville writers
@@jazieh1986 the worst part is her leaving and the show pretending she never even came back, I know they mention it a bunch of times but theres no impact, it was just a strange choice by the writers
@divinelangene6813 Oh absolutely so I'm like 'why did she come back in the first place?' I mean sure Lex did pull the whole final act on her which was kidnapping her and her wanting more vengeance which caused her to put on a super suit (literally) but other than that I was actually confused cuz we were in the middle of the Doomsday storyline, Chloe gets taken but all of a sudden Clark diverts his attention to Lana- like dude come on. I can't wait for Michael and Tom to discuss this (if they reach to season 8). Cuz I have a feeling they are gonna ask 'was this storyline with Lana coming back like this really necessary?'
As im watching this I thought to myself I can’t believe how much I missed this. I hate when the seasons over and we have to wait ! Bravo guys love ya proud of ya
Lovely to have you guys back! Really enjoyed watching Clark face the Phantom Zone, loved the effects! Nice to see Lionel's security make a guest appearence 😅 Also enjoyed the introduction of Raya and Jimmy. Martha at the fortress was really cool, Annette is amazing! Epic battle between Clark and Zod, Tom and Michael did great as always! Thanks again guys ❤️
One of my favorite episodes are coming up! When Lana learns the real truth! I think last season and this season are probably my favorite. I have favorite episodes after, but there is just so much good stuff in this season. Smallville is a small town full of secrets, lies, deception, and mystery. Watching the whole show and then rewatching it, I think what is possibly unspokenly true and possibly unintentional is how connected everyone really is and how it’s very likely that everyone who was in Clark’s circle new he was different but just couldn’t figure out how because he wasn’t telling them. When they do figure it out they aren’t necessarily surprised because deep down they new something was up but there is still the astonishment because they didn’t really understand how amazing he is. Love this show.
I am so excited that y’all are back. Season 6 baby! I love your hand on the wooden wall demonstration. Welcome to the Phantom Zone should be a shirt idea. I loved the introduction of Jimmy in this episode especially because I love that he calls Clark Ck. One of my favorite scenes was when Jar-El thanked Martha for raising Clark. The Phantom Zone had a Star Wars and Dune Vibe. One thing about I noticed about Zod was that he spoke in third person. The opening fight scene and the Zod and Clark fight scene was so well done. Thank y’all for such a great podcast.
Nice to see Tom Welling in studio 🥰🥰
It's still a surprise to see him that big, dude has to be one of the tallest Superman actors. Next to Routh.
Tom is so effortlessly charming. The guy just can’t stop being genuine and happy. Love that for him.

I like how Jor-el (despite seemingly to be nearly deactivated) expressed sincere gratitude to Martha for the way the Kent’s raised Clark.
Yeah, he was good Jor-El this season (this is his one appearance, basically).
He goes back to being dick Jor-El next season.

I've always thought that was the greatest dichotomy about him and made him the perfect actor to be cast for this role.

Trivia:
It was also great seeing Leonard Roberts, who played Nam-Ek, acting alongside a non-black character who was comfortable with him.
Lets goooo!!! Welcome back for Season 6!!! 🎉
Thank you so much ❤️ and Happy New Year to you too guys ❤ and welcome back for Season 6! ❤❤❤
This is the best early birthday present for my 30th. Let's gooooo 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😁😁😁
Zod is my favorite episode in the entire show. Well done, Michael and Tom!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥
Man, season 6; it went by so fast. At this rate you’ll finish the show in about 2-3 years. Michael still rocks that Zod coat
Cant wait for crimson 🎉🎉
@divinelangene6813 💯
Red K ♦️performance Tom did🔥✊
Welcome back! I’m just here to say that, of course, love the show. I love the podcast… But Tom’s facial expressions and emotions are absolutely stellar!! A phenomenal actor!! ❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Please include Bryce in podcast. Hes othe only one that asks behind the scenes questions that we all want to hear about!!
S6....let's gooooooooo. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love the podcast guys. Happy New Year! I'm glad you are safe, Michael. God bless you guys.
One of my favourite moments is when General Zod (as Lex) says “Kneel before Zod”. That’s such an iconic line
Also when Clark defeats Zod by trapping him again it almost mirrors the scene from Superman 2 where Superman kneels in front of General Zod and he crushes his hand. It’s such a great reference
I love smallville i love clark and lois ❤❤
8:34. Excellent picture. Very glad you all are Back!
4:54 the part of dusty wind when sudden mysterious kryptonian zooming off when Clark calls in echo sound went deeper was like too funny!!😂🤣
Welcome back! Love this podcast, and I can't wait to hear their thoughts on this amazing season of Smallville!
Welcome back gentlemen !!! Great episode looking forward to a great season !!
I love the long black Zod coat!!!
So glad to have you back for season 6!!
Welcome back guys! I hope you're all staying safe with those fires over there. On a happier note, my girlfriend has just started watching Smallville and she's fallen in love instantly.
Yay, welcome back TalkVille!! Hopefully we’ll get to see Justin on the podcast! ❤
Glad to see Michael's house is safe after the fires.
3:33 Every time you talk about this jetski activity I remember Michael's story with the snowmobile! 🙆♀
Season 6 is my favorite season, it brings in other super hero’s & by the end of season 6 Lana does figure out Clark’s secret.
I noticed that when Clark escaped the Phantom zone, there were bright streaks in the sky - one was Clark falling to earth, and there were 6 other streaks of light going in different directions ( which I assume are the phantoms.)
Who doesn't love the Clark vs. Zod fight scene?! That was epic! 😳😃 Bryce, thanks for asking about how they filmed that - I was wondering too! Thanks for your witty synapsis of this episode too, Bryce. 😂❤
Well, it's been a hell of a few weeks for so many people.
This was one of my most favourite episodes of Smallville, especially it being involved with the phantom zone
I just want yall to know that the Tom Wellings + Kristen Kreuk edits have been going crazy on tiktok the past month. I can never pass them 😍
And even on Twitter. So much hit tweets about how no other pairing has ever been able to match their pretty 😂
I love how when Clark "kneels before Zod (Lex)", it's a nice homage to Superman II (iykyk) 😎... I give this episode a solid 🌹🌹 (2 roses)... #LoveThePodcastFellas #TalkvilleWednesdays
Subconsciously or just being in deep denial, Clark could never fully trust Lana, which is why he put off telling her so long.
But why, if he is so afraid of losing her why cant he just take the risk and tell her
He did and she was immediately cornered by Lex and died that inevitably spooked Clark
@@divinelangene6813he did and lana when checked her phone message after Jonathan won and stupidly went over to lex’s mansion finds him drunk after loss his election and suspects the ring told everything and proposed lies too him, chased her til the bus crashed her and shook
Cool episode guys 🤘🏻🇨🇱🤘🏻🇨🇱
Damn, only on season six?
Season six is the best one. It’s the season where they took the freak of the week format and did it in earnest! Freak fan!
Welcome back fellow Talkvillers and Smallvillers! Season 6 is finally here!
Everyone acting like DUI is career ending
*Yes, let's start SEASON 6! HAPPY NEW EVERYONE!! I'm looking forward to the JUSTICE episode and introduction to Green Arrow. Please... have Justin Hartley on show.*
I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve watch the series all the way through. Over 20, easily. One of my favorite shows 👏👏👏🇺🇸🫡
I rewatched this episode just recently with my mom (we are rewatching this show again, we are about to start on season 9) and the part where Zod was extracted out of Lex I legit screamed out 'OH MY GOD!
@@jazieh1986 Lana in season 8 was so unnecessary
@divinelangene6813
I 100% agree, look I love Kristen I really do but seeing how Clark progressed after Lana left like working at the Daily Planet with Lois, saving people in Metropolis, hanging out with Oliver Queen and getting closer to the Justice League, he was getting closer and closer to becoming Superman but the moment Lana came back it's like he took a lot of step backs like working on the farm once again, saving Lana numerous times while the city needs him more.
@divinelangene6813
Oh absolutely so I'm like 'why did she come back in the first place?' I mean sure Lex did pull the whole final act on her which was kidnapping her and her wanting more vengeance which caused her to put on a super suit (literally) but other than that I was actually confused cuz we were in the middle of the Doomsday storyline, Chloe gets taken but all of a sudden Clark diverts his attention to Lana- like dude come on. I can't wait for Michael and Tom to discuss this (if they reach to season 8). Cuz I have a feeling they are gonna ask 'was this storyline with Lana coming back like this really necessary?'
@jazieh1986 I hate that when it comes to Lana Clark literally forgets about everything and everyone else, it's not healthy
As im watching this I thought to myself I can’t believe how much I missed this. I hate when the seasons over and we have to wait ! Bravo guys love ya proud of ya
It's good to see Tom there in person!
11:46 "These are two things we're not gonna try right now..." -- Ryan. LOL.
Always great when Tom's in the room!
WELCOME back!!! This TalkVille episode is incredibly funny! The dynamic between the three of you is truly special and allows each of you to shine.
Tom, if I could take the fall for you, I would. Please get yourself a good lawyer and try to fight this. And please, please, please keep working.
Fantastic first episode to a five-star season. Three roses.
Season 6 was bananas❤ I binged 20 episodes at once
I literally just yelled "YAY" WHEN I SEEN THE UPLOAD!!!!
Yay, welcome back Talk Ville! Happy New Year to you all!
Same in season 9, never trust someone who speaks in third person😂😂😂😂
Glad Talkville is back!! I thought the super fight would give this episode a 3 roser!!! It was excellent!!
