It's funny that people who review the show put a great amount of detail into what they didn't like and why, and the response from a lot of people is "why are you watching it" as if you're only supposed to review things you like, or know you're going to like beforehand. People watch it for a variety of reasons - even if they don't like it. Maybe they like the characters and want to see their treatment. Maybe they thought they were going to like it? Maybe they have hope the show will turn around or otherwise redeem itself? What I do notice - a lot - is the people who don't like the critical reviews - watch the reviews anyways. And they rarely detail why they ignore the problems, or explain why the problems aren't actually problems. There are exceptions, but they are infrequent in the comments.
Well technically, if you see no hope for a certain product you don’t have to watch it, but wanting to watch it for analytical reasons is valid I suppose. If you have valid criticisms for the show, then people might listen. But when you’re just kind of complaining about tiny inconveniences, that’s when it becomes a problem. There’s a difference between people who have something to say and people who make noise for the sake of it.
@@GabesEdtiz True. And what's significant for one person may not be significant for another. We all have to evaluate whether or not a critique is valid, and how significant it is. You can also have a situation where tons of little things are wrong, they add up, and they have a more significant effect on the product for those people.
@@NickCarroll Very true. In the end it all comes down to how well the critique is constructed and - like you said - if it has any significance to the overall quality and appeal of the show. And you’re also right about the over-abundance of the little things. Almost every show in existence has tiny little problems, but you can forgive most of them if the show itself makes up for it in more ways than one. However, if those small things build up over time and create more small pieces hinge are created as a result, then the experience is ruined. So in short, you’re 100% correct.
I love how after over 10 years of a great, cohesive story, Marvel/Disney suddenly feels the need to punish its fans for being fans of Marvel. Im convinced Jessica Gao worked on this show for $0 an hour because a fucking 5 year old could make a better show than her
10 years if great cohesive story ? Their story were never cohesive, the MCU always consisted of planting plot points in a shallow way and then only pick up from what sticks, and what does not stick it just gets forgotten. The whole MCU is just a better made She Hulk, but the point still stands, its useless and pointless, even after what they went with Thanos, it still does not even matter as they change stuff however they want and there is literally no consequence for any MCU product, the only consequence ever the MCU ever had was Thanos blipping the whole universe, and even so it only felt as a consequence because they split the movie in 2, when basically Thanos did nothing at the end and Loki just introduced the fact that nothing matters Very cohesive
@@Weaiight yes let me just grab my millions of dollars and my plethora of writers and producers and just make a superhero show. Your reply does nothing but tell me how low your IQ is
Can we just take a moment to realize how dumbed down Wong has become? Like what the hell did these writers do to him? He use to be so capable and managed. Now he’s a mess and I want to know what the hell happened to the old Wong!
My gf pointed out that the “specimen” guy might’ve been one of the masked robbers since he was asking if vibranium can pierce her skin. It’s a good theory but I don’t think the writers are smart enough for that
I liked how you explained in some degree about She Hulks inability to know basic law, as the problem with this show isn't just it's misandry, but writing in general. I was so looking forward to this show before, and by episode 2 my hopes were crushed. They should have gotten their misandry out in episode one, because its overall atching theme now hampers the whole show, as it's so constant I now dislike her as a character. I am convinced that Jessica Gao was just in the writers room of Rick and Morty and added nothing of substance because this show shows her writing "talent" is a mirage. So either the writer of this episode is a narcissist, or has strong narcissistic tendencies, because what other type of person is sexually turned on by themself or talking about themselves? Conversations are not one sided, you speak, you listen. It's about as basic as you can get, and even a selfish child (as children will be) knows to talk but also still listen.
The thing about writing powerful magic users like Wong is you have to account for everything they can easily do and what takes effort. For example, I'm sure Wong would've known a small-scale memory-wiping spell that would have solved his spoiled TV problem. We know that exists because there is a memory-wiping spell that spanned the entire MCU in Spider-Man Far From Home. Wong didn't want Strange to cast the spell because wiping the memory of countless billion was understandably risky and somehow uses multiversal energies which blah blah, you know. However, a smaller version of that spell to wipe one specific memory in one mind should've been fine and easy. Doctor Strange almost wiped the world's memory as if he were cooking Sunday brunch. So... they made Wong look like a dumbfuck.
I swear drunk girl (I refuse to type that name) was the single most annoying thing I have seen in years. Its like the punchline was meant to be “she’s drunk” but rather than her actually doing anything funny from being drunk, they expect us to laugh at the fact she is drunk, rather than anything she says or does. Cause everything she says or does just makes me wanna tear out my brain stem, run out into the nearest four way intersection and skip rope with it. And if I hear her say “Wongers” ONE MORE TIME. I MAY JUST DO THAT!
Your reviews save me hours of pain if I had to watch the show myself. Not only that, but your reviews are endlessly entertaining and therapeutic after a long day. It’s therapeutic to have validation from other reasonable people regarding why something seems so incredibly idiotic. thank you.
It’s so bad. I wish they could take the time to properly write a good show to produce some good vfx and a better theme overall. This show is a 4/10 and that’s for the cameos.
I don't blame the bad writers, I blame the studio, its management and initially Kevin for deciding that it was good enough to release. i can enjoy this show because i am fully aware that it is bad, and i see it as a bad dumb unfunny sitcom. and the main character doesn't bother me, and she's "alive" enough for me to care about her
Okay, I like how Wong is watching the Sopranos and he’s watching it on Netflix cos Disney doesn’t exist in this universe. But HOW could Wont know what The Sopranos is and not understand the legal system in his country?? Oh, right. Because the writers make up character traits inconsistent with any other Marvel projects just to fit the episode story.
Beyond that it breaks the 4th wall in a stupid way. Because Jen implies that they are and she knows she in a fiction, mentioning Twitter, and then they acknowledge that a real life HBO production exists within the universe.
Shows like this illustrate a bad precedent: You can build something great that affects many, then turn around and dismantle it and I’ll punish you for caring.

12:21 Did the writer of she hulk really said that "I am threatening arson to them over She-Hulk", so she got rejected three times and was dead set to write She-Hulk only to make it this bad
For a show about a lawyer, this show knows absolutely nothing about the law at all. It really takes you out of a show when the legal crap they do is so wrong that you don’t even have to be a lawyer to know how wrong their legal stuff is. The writers are so entitled that they don’t even do any research for their legal plots. Copyrights are a federal court issue, completely different from trademarks which are much harder to get and are handled through the Patent and Trademark Commission, whereas copyrights are registered with the Library Of Congress, which is why copyright suits must go through a federal court. You cannot just register a trademark and be issued one. A trademark must be established over time and used until the trademark becomes synonymous with your product, service or any other endeavor. Typically, a trademark must be in use for at least 12 to 18 months, but usually much longer, before a registration is accepted. Until then you must use the tag TM, rather than the R in a circle, which stands for “registered trademark”. It would be impossible for Titania to get the name “She-Hulk” registered so fast. Besides, so far, Jen has been more notorious for using the name so far. She’s been referred to as She Hulk in the news and on television many times, which would automatically give her more right to to the name. Like I have said, the writers have admitted to knowing nothing about the law, but rather than hiring some technical advisors, like a real lawyer to help them make the court scenes more engaging, they just pull shit out of their asses, not caring how wrong it is. How did those writers get hired? The only qualification was they had to have a vagina and that was good enough. Oh, we’re making a show about a lawyer, but we’re going to hire these ladies that know nothing about the law and haven’t ever written for another show about law or the court system.
@@yourparalysisdemon1936 one of my favorite shows. At least they did a little bit of research for their mock-up legal cases. She-Hulk does legal proceeding that are so wrong that even someone with little more than a basic understanding of the law knows it’s wrong. My FAVORITE Arguments I see on Facebook by diehard marvel apologists for why this show is soooo gooooodd : "You're a grown ass adult man complaining about a she hulk comic book TV show" "it's pathetic how much grown men spend their time criticising a show they don't like when they can just not watch it" "don't like it then don't watch the show"
As a Hulk fan this really hurts to watch, this show took what was once something incredible to behold and turned it into complete trash. I feel depressed seeing my favorite characters turned into this and somehow people I've talked to say this is an improvement. I just can't. For years I've been saying that we should have a Hulk TV series so that we can adapt his comic lore properly on screen and still have him in the Movies and even have other Avengers or other TV series characters crossover like Agents of SHIELD. Imagine how incredible The Hulk would be at that point, we deserved to get that back in phase 2 honestly and back then we could've seen She Hulk start off on that series before getting her own and actually build something with these characters who have been sitting on the comic shelves for decades. Imagine if in the first episode it opens up with Jennifer and her mother saving Bruce from his abusive father Brian when they were kids, and we see them bond over this trauma as they have a true wholesome family moment where they talk about their interests. We could have Jen start by asking why he (Brian) does this to him (Bruce), Bruce can say "because I'm smart" then Jen could say something like "well he's dumb" we can then kind of see how they would grow into their roles as Jen shows her intuition and empathy towards Bruce as he shows his intellect and ingenuity via him building a chemistry set for her or something. We then cut to present day and see them catch up on their lives, and we get a nice little play by play of their experiences like Jen going to law school becoming a lawyer and Bruce graduating with his seven PHD's becoming a well renowned Gamma Physicist and Bio Chemist, from there as they talk; we then have the Mafia Hit take place and you know what happens after that. I feel like something like that would've been great to see and we'd get character development for both Bruce and Jen ON SCREEN not to mention this would still have the origin from the comics. And it shows how Jen did save Bruce from his hell of a home and then has Bruce save her from the brink of death, it's poetic. I'm a huge HUGE Hulk fan and I just want a good story with these characters in live action. It shouldn't be a pipe dream to have a good movie or show about these characters I mean come on.
I've never seen she hulk but all the advertising on Facebook tells me it's inspiring, original, ground breaking, and woke AF. As a human being incapable of thinking for myself, I have no choice but to admit it's an inspirational piece of art and we should all appreciate it.
The show is absolutely awful but I will admit I did actually kinda enjoyed this episode. It made me laugh in a couple of scenes like the over the top who’s paying for the bill scene or when she throws the shirt away to name a few. And ignoring the awful writing some of the action at the end was kinda fun even if it was nonsensical. Probably the best episode so far but that’s not saying much💀 5.5/10
Some people cope so hard about this show. I commented how every man is one dimensional, and even the dating subplot with the sexy doctor that 'actually listens' to her sounds like the fake feminist dudes women complain about where it's all for show. Arthur(I think is his name in the credits) reads feminist literature, listened to Jen's story about her first encounter with Titania, and someone responded to me with the weird belief that somehow they'll expand on this dude or his subplot because 'obviously' he's part of overarching story. Which is clearly a paint huffing cope because there is NO alluding to that with the exception of him seeing Jen in her human form. I shake my head at these people. Edit: you know the best part about episode 5? Well you better pick up that phone, because I fucking called it. Arthur the sexy doctor admits he wouldn't have dated Jen in her human form.
This show is made to hate on men. Really, every man so far is either a terrible person or just stupid, and what's worse is that they're written like this on purpose. Seriously, in the previous they gave the Abomination *9 wives* out of nowhere just to further their point. They didn't even bother to explain HOW he got them. The more I think about it the more I realize that this show is just feminazi propaganda. Just in case, I use the term "feminazi" to distinguish toxic feminists from feminists that just fight for women's rights and gender equality instead of treating men like the ultimate evil of the world.
this show was my final hope to still care about the MCU after endgame and no way home, but seriously i have no will to care anymore. All the new shows and movies are lazily written and rushed out to make money. I am genuinely no longer invested in this story and in my head cannon the MCU ended after endgame.
I think the last part is a contrast, that in some ways is so casual that it feels a little bit chill and human. Like, Wang having a connection to a stranger is a good point to setup things.
Let’s be real, Loki the tv series is the only reason you wanna try Disney + for a month and scrap your account. Who in their right mind wanna join Disney plus for She Hulk?
Given that there were some thugs who had failed in obtaining SheHulks blood/DNA in ep 3, I'm willing to bet the muscled doctor in ep 4 isn't a doctor at all; but a more intelligent thug who managed to woo She Hulk so he could get a sample of her DNA through more intimate means (bet he works for Tatianna, too).
Wong isn't just watching TV, he's watching This Is Us, I liked how they played that reference with him sad on the couch, it's one of the few subtle comedic moments that isn't overexposed and made me actually laugh. I agree about everything else though
It is so bad I like to point out all the easier sulutions to problems and i find it funny to see Disney struggle like how they are this is why I like the show and also the special effects is horrific
I won’t even cap, Madisynn made the last episode watchable for me 😅 I hated all the other episodes but her addition to the show made it watchable and more comedic, in fact I like her way more than Jennifer/She-Hulk’s character. But the second Jen came back on the screen my face went from 😆 to 😐
It’s interesting to see these characters in “normal” circumstances like this. I don’t like the 4th wall because it feels random but also kinda hope the trope continues into movies only for this character lmao..
Hear me out this show is accidentally genius. It’s basically a deep dive into the mind of a narcissist. The fourth wall breaks heavily imply that Jennifer is narrating the show, which means the story comes from her perspective but she is an unreliable narrator similar to catcher in the rye. One of the key factors of NPD is complete unawareness of your condition, which is why the show takes such an exxagrated and twisted perspective on the stories. It makes sense that all the selfish and childish things she does is met with praise by the tone of the show because that’s what she’s thinking in her mind. And the inferiority complex exaggerates the flaws in every character to cartoonish levels while covering up her own. If you view the show as a story being told from her perspective it actually becomes a really interesting psychological dive into how a narcissists mind works. Was this done on purpose? Probably not, Jen seems to be a self insert of the writers ego or ideal version of herself but I think an accidental masterpiece was made here and it honestly fascinates me.

Genuine question: why is Marvel (or Disney idgaf) suddenly not listening to their audience and instead hurting them? I mean, not to be bring DC into it but they’re a decent example. Absolute shite at first but once they started to listen and use their brain, they started doing pretty decent.
Inertia of the big companies and indifference from the majority of consumers. There more reasons but this 2 is enough already.
Money
Because marvel knows that no matter how bad their content is people will still consume it. DC doesn't exactly have that advantage so that's why they're actually putting some effort

Trust me, I run into those kind of people all the time
They have small brains
Because its the only thing they can do. They have no real counter to it.
Just shows how pathetic some of them are.
Im convinced Jessica Gao worked on this show for $0 an hour because a fucking 5 year old could make a better show than her
For one a 5 year old had much more imagination, and desire to be ENTERTAINED.
10 years if great cohesive story ? Their story were never cohesive, the MCU always consisted of planting plot points in a shallow way and then only pick up from what sticks, and what does not stick it just gets forgotten.
The whole MCU is just a better made She Hulk, but the point still stands, its useless and pointless, even after what they went with Thanos, it still does not even matter as they change stuff however they want and there is literally no consequence for any MCU product, the only consequence ever the MCU ever had was Thanos blipping the whole universe, and even so it only felt as a consequence because they split the movie in 2, when basically Thanos did nothing at the end and Loki just introduced the fact that nothing matters
Very cohesive
You make It then

I don't necessarily like the show but I'm curious what cameos Disney can squeeze into this show and how the show will eventually end.

I hated it when I saw the trailer and first episode but it's not as aggressively terrible anymore. I still don't enjoy it but it's not as bad

I feel like people only like this show because they are happy that the mcu is finally focusing on characters related to The Hulk after years or ignoring The Hulk's characters and Hulk himself
Well they're making you forget about him so when he comes back for World War hulk. It's like that saying goes how can I miss you if you won't go away, and that's what Marvel's doing with the Hulk
"Wong is here because he is cheap", that was so accurate😂😀

Have you watched better call saul?

My FAVORITE Arguments I see on Facebook by diehard marvel apologists for why this show is soooo gooooodd :
"You're a grown ass adult man complaining about a she hulk comic book TV show"
"it's pathetic how much grown men spend their time criticising a show they don't like when they can just not watch it"
"don't like it then don't watch the show"
Holy shit your videos are getting better and better
She claims she gets catcalled everyday, but then when its time for dating, no one bats an eye? Aight
I've never seen she hulk but all the advertising on Facebook tells me it's inspiring, original, ground breaking, and woke AF.
As a human being incapable of thinking for myself, I have no choice but to admit it's an inspirational piece of art and we should all appreciate it.
I'm glad your doing these videos so i don't have to waste my time to
The show is absolutely awful but I will admit I did actually kinda enjoyed this episode. It made me laugh in a couple of scenes like the over the top who’s paying for the bill scene or when she throws the shirt away to name a few. And ignoring the awful writing some of the action at the end was kinda fun even if it was nonsensical. Probably the best episode so far but that’s not saying much💀 5.5/10
Wong and Daredevil are the only reasons I’m still watching this show.
Ask me again how that green bishe became an attorney again?...Oh right, by twerking in front of a law professor. (Sarcastically) Smart move, Jen. 🤦♂️
Just in case, I use the term "feminazi" to distinguish toxic feminists from feminists that just fight for women's rights and gender equality instead of treating men like the ultimate evil of the world.
i like she hulk because everyone else dislikes it and i am no longer capable of forming opinions based on anything other than what makes others angry
this show was my final hope to still care about the MCU after endgame and no way home, but seriously i have no will to care anymore.
You mean the directors and writers can blame the show and the writings itself which they themselves wrote and can get away with it?
