I love that they casted Courtney and Simone, two Maori actresses, to play both versions of Lottie. The casting in this show is epically amazing! 😍

I believe the actress who plays Lottie's mother is also Maori!

They need to pay the writers soon or this will be like euphoria with 2+ years between seasons (which would be a HUGE mistake for showtime) They should be capitalizing off the success of this show. The network needs to stop being so greedy and pay these people for their hard work. Love these interviews, I wish you could do one with Juliette Lewis!

I would LOVE to have Juliette on Ladies Night at some point!
But in the meantime, I did moderate a career retrospective for her at SAG. She's the best! ruclips.net/video/r25K0H1lAsg/видео.html

it's so curious that perri and simone both agreed toward the end of the interview that lottie was the first AQ and nat was the second one after her. i'm sure there is a place for that theory in the narrative at the moment, as nothing has been clearly defined yet.
to me, lottie is the priestess rather than the first AQ. she possesses the ultimate and unique power to anoint a queen of her, or the wilderness', choosing. back in the past, she realised she was tired of leading on her own and needed a strong leader standing beside her, someone to lead in practical terms, meanwhile she'd be the spiritual counsel of the group. and here was natalie... too virtuous for her own good. and thus she was chosen, to her own future detriment.
on another note, i'm _so_ thrilled simone had this tangent about van! i'd been craving to hear that from someone on the cast! there is obviously a connection there, arguably the kind no other dynamic on the show has. their past days history informs so much of their present one, it's a joy to see. van the believer is always there for lottie the priestess, bowing to her wisdom, but even outside of these labels they're just beautiful together. two women who support each other in a most severe way. i hope the lengths they're ready to go to for one another get explored in the next season... or even more broadly, their private interactions and how they would even look, who they are when together. i need that. i really need that.
great snippet of the interview, perri! watching you and simone in a comfortable conversation like that is a pleasure. i'm so obsessed. collider knows what's up.

I totally agree on the Antler Queen. I'm also hoping Natalie is in the role for quite a while so that we can see more of her and because it explains Misty's deep adoration for her. It explains Misty's entire arc in Season 1 in relation to Natalie.
I feel differently on the supernatural stuff. Love the theory about "It". But I do believe Lottie has precognition. She truly gets visions of the future but they are clouded, possibly due to mental illness. A lot of my belief in this comes from the fact that I actually read every episode before seeing it because I didn't have Showtime. So the performances didn't affect me. Didn't see the additional 'craziness'. It truly reads like she sees the future.
Simone is wonderful. Thanks for interviewing her. I hope we get to see a lot more of her in Season 3. Lisa tries to rescue her, perhaps? "There's nothing wrong with Lottie but these other women... they are crazy".

Of course IT is supernatural. There are tangible, material clues pointing to that: Lottie speaking French despite being bad at it, bear coming to them to be killed, every sacrifice working out for them, etc. There will be more of them in the next seasons, no doubt.
My guess is there is only one Antler Queen, and it’s Lottie. She’s like the Pope in their little community and will appoint every leader from now on like she did with Natalie. But she will always be their main person because of her powers, and will rule them spiritually.
