    Hi Guys, Thanks for checking out the video! Let me know if the release of the XL line has impacted your buying decisions with 3/4 or Deluxe Arcade1Up cabs since its inception

      I think it's great that they're going towards the XL line, but I also hope they still do more 3/4 scales as well. Maybe do both lineups at the same time.

    I only have two XL cabs in my collection so far. That is golden tee and Pac-Man. I would absolutely be game for a Mortal Kombat XL. Regardless of what artwork they use. I already have a deluxe version, but I would love to have it in XL.

    I like Arcade1Up's latest Deluxe cabs that are taller than older 3/4 cabs (even other Deluxe cabs), which make them as tall/not as silly looking when standing next to XL/Full sized cabs. These include the SF2 Deluxe, Time Crisis and F&F. The issue with the older generation 3/4 cabs is that they are shorter and look really out of place when sitting beside an XL in your collection - you don't have that issue with the above three (yes, they are slimmer and screens slightly smaller but they don't look odd next to an XL otherwise). It's one of the reasons I haven't picked up a MK2 Deluxe, it's just too short aesthetic-wise.

  • @gothamcityarcade

    I will stay with the Deluxe line because of the size, and it will match all the other cab in my collection! Two, if i did get an XL line, i would have sold all my 45 cabs and started from starch again. i can't see myself doing it!

    Arcade1Up needs to standardize every release... I'm so firmly in the "3/4 scale with riser" ecosystem that I don't want to buy any deluxe or XL cabinets. If I could start all over again, I'd go the deluxe route, but I wish that all new releases just automatically came in all three variations at different price points. Throw in countercades and partycades while you're at it. $150 for a countercade, $200 for a partycade, $400 for the old school riser cab, $500 for Deluxe, and $600 for XL. Maybe the pricier ones include more games and upgraded controls, I don't know-- but for the love of god just make it standard across the board.

      You're first sentence is bang on and representative of 95% of the customers that purchase 1ups. Whether for a mini home arcade or one off purchase. The rest though creates a design, production logistics, distribution and brand nightmare. It's partly what 1up fell into and why we are in this current state. The riser was the greatest(and cheapest) "aha" moment with 1up while the venture into "Deluxe", XLs and "Pros" was the biggest blunder.

  • @KaneTime22

      A very sane comment amongst the "go bigger/more expensive" comments on here. The countercade and party cade lines make a lot more sense than XLs from a pure consumer base. I can picture 50,000 people that would like your idea versus the 500 that are crying for Blitz XL

    NO... XL is not hurting their business, Deluxe is. Just today on Reddit there was another guy who accidentally bought a Pac-Man Deluxe when he meant to buy an XL. And now he's upset that he's stuck with a Deluxe. It's clear that Deluxe is confusing the market, and has been for the past year. Look, survey after survey says people want XL THREE-TO-ONE vs. any other form factor or size. So, again, it's not XL that's causing problems... it's Deluxe. And that's what Arcade1Up continues to misread.

    • @MichaelBtheGameGenie
      @MichaelBtheGameGenie  7 месяцев назад +1

      Paul I’m not saying XLs are bad here but it may be diluting sales of 3/4 scale cabs. Maybe some clarity on what’s coming out in what form factor would help

    • @PaulXMann
      @PaulXMann 7 месяцев назад

      @@MichaelBtheGameGenie Oh, I know... and we're on the same page about XLs, for sure. But it's "hurting" their business in the sense that Deluxe is too close. It's a weird, middle child that's almost the same price and size, but not as good. And that's not helping anyone. It should really be 3/4 with riser optional, and then XL. Deluxe needs to die (before it kills THEM).

    • @shawnp4155
      @shawnp4155 7 месяцев назад

      @@PaulXMannbut that's all "the community" cried about! "We want risers! We don't want risers anymore....coin doors....light up marquees....form factor.". I'm sorry but this shift to XLs and the bs "Pro" line is what hurt the company the most. The XL line killed pretty much any new title moving forward. But people like you would think a Dragon's Lair XL or Star Wars XL for $800-1000 will keep this company thriving.

  • @NicholasDeOrio
    @NicholasDeOrio 7 месяцев назад +1

    I am all Deluxe moving forward. I got like 11 of these and I'm not interested in reselling/rebuying at inflated prices. XL's take up too much space and comically large next to Deluxe Machines. They also aren't producing XL cabinets fast enough that it would make replacing my current lineup feasible.
    I am glad arcade1up continues to reiterate that their Deluxe line is their flagship line. That being said, my 2024 money will be going to Stern LOL

  • @BarnesArcade
    @BarnesArcade 7 месяцев назад +1

    A1Up is all over the place with sizes, prices, & versions. All mine are 3/4 risers. I refuse to trade out for the exact same thing in a different form factor. As awkward as T2 is vs the rest, I don’t think my OCD will let me get anything new that’s not 3/4 riser.

    • @shawnp4155
      @shawnp4155 7 месяцев назад +1

      This is what really started to impact them negatively. Straying away from their bread and butter, to dare I say, please the "community". That is on 1up for doing that but straying away from the affordable 3/4(with or without riser business model) was a very poor decision. The poster child for this being the KI "Pro", where they had an extremely difficult time moving 350 of these units.

  • @ragingtyga
    @ragingtyga 2 месяца назад

    I don't necessarily think that the XL in of themselves take away from the deluxe or 3/4 scale cabs, it's that SOME of the units you brought up in the video were marketed as "Premium" models, but weren't xl. Like Time crisis for example. When it launched, it was nearly 800 dollars, so many (like myself) felt that it was short sighted to ask for that much, and it NOT be XL, especially when previous XL models like NBA Jam SE and Pac Mac XL sold for over $100 less. They lost the value prop basically. At least if FF and TC were larger 19inch models, people would have jumped. Same for games like T2, Ridge Racer, Outrun and even Star Wars

    That’s what I’m doing. I’m waiting for XL or pro. I have the only pro they made so far and I’m selling a lot of my cabinets one by one. Just sold big blue selling Mortal Kombat and selling Miss Pac-Man waiting for an extra large or pro and if they don’t come out, they don’t come out, my cabinets are really for ambience, the only time they get played, is when I have company or a party but besides that no one plays them so I’m not in a rush. My son is only nine but when he sees the graphics, he makes one of them he’s used to the PlayStation five or the switch so I don’t think he’ll ever play them, on another note, I have the PlayStation VR and I had a quest two but I just bought a quest three and it is super clear way better than a quest two I just thought of it because I’m gonna go play me some Resident Evil 4 now in the quest three

    off my older cabinets to justify the purchase in case they come out . I don’t have a lot of confidence with Arcade 1up and their level of transparency to be up front and let us know . I would buy an XL TMNT or Star Wars right now if I knew it was coming down the line .

Whatever weird knockoff joystick that sounds like something is snapping has to go, make happs the standard or even better put in wicos for these prices. Little nitpick but they should keep true to the cabinet design instead of changing up the control deck art/layout, and putting in light up buttons, and adding that waterfall control panel instead of that weird line cutting through it.
