I think space is part of the issue with the older versions. This ride building looks larger.
Disney will always keep one of it's classical rides in it original form in one of it's parks, it is considered relic. Others will be updated differently just to give it a different taste so that you'd visit their parks in different parts of the world.

This is so much better than the other parks’ versions! I normally don’t like screens, but I think that they used them wisely here, and with all of the fast motion that is involved in this ride (Peter Pan and the Darlings flying, Peter and Hook fighting) the screens fit very well. And I love how on this one you can tell that it’s a story, you’re going on the adventure with the characters. On the American versions it more feels like you’re watching them from above, and it doesn’t feel as much like a story, more that you’re just looking at Neverland. Can they PLEASE redo all of the other versions to this!
edit: I wrote this comment 2 years ago and after rereading it I don’t know why I said to redo the other versions. The ones at Disneyland and WDW are classics that have been around for a long time and they shouldn’t be redone :)
exactly. This is hands down the best peter pan ride. I went to the one at Disneyland Paris when I was 12 and I was amazed but seeing this now from a screen even looks better
This ride is awesome! But NO! Do not change the other parks ride. At least at Disneyland! Old school. If it was a dog of a ride, the wait time wouldn't be an hour every day!
Other theme parks follow an abbreviated story format for dark rides and it often is _too_ abbreviated and you feel rushed through the ride. I like watching from overhead, as then it feels like I get to see this whole other world, and not just the same story in a different format.
edit: But this ride was perfect! This one has a great balance and usage of effects and is amazing.

This version is so magical and amazing. Man i wish Disneyland and Disney World would update their rides to this. I also absolutely love that they put music and other stuff from the second peter pan movie here. A wonderful homage to a wonderful movie.

It's so amazing how technology has changed. All new Disney theme parks get the classic Disney rides but highly advanced. It's unfortunate that the original park which started it all seems to be the less talked about in media and social circles.

Shane Perry I'm actual glad that Galaxy's Edge will open in Disneyland first, it gets some bragging rights, lol. But the Magic Kingdom has theirs and Toy Story Land as well as a Tron coaster, Guardians coaster, ski lift transportation, new Star Wars hotel, etc. But at least Disneyland gets Marvel Universe.

Love how the pirate ships can handle more people... but I like the continuous loading of the older versions better.

They look easier to get in and out of, too.
This version is actually worth the wait! I think they need to update the other versions. Disneyland is too small to accommodate this version - unless they do a new Fantasyland and extend the building. That's within the realm of possibility.
The size of Disneyland resort has always been a problem. This is why when new rides hit the park, something is always removed.

@@KeepCalmContemplateYourChoices The have started to remove backstage building for expansion, for example the Mickeys and Minnies rail road, they have taken out a CM building which was behind toontown
most of the reason why disneyland doesnt update the older rides as much is because its space and its the "original" rides. which some see as a problem but i think its nice they want to preserve history while also adding new technology to it as much as they see fit
@@wasabisushi404 we have the same Problem in the UK with Blackpool plaesure beach ( i know it dont compair to disney propertys around the world) BUT was and still is one of the original seaside theme parks still going strong even after the likes of alton towers and thorpe park came along .....the problem is space so if they want to introduce a new ride something else has to go ....they had a number of heritage rides within the park (some admitidly not open for yrs llike the whip , turtle chase) and sadly they are disappearing ..the last noahs ark in the uk closed after 2004 and was still working it still stands but basicaly they turned the bottom section into the parks entrance / ticket . wrist band shop ..very imaginative! ....even the ones that were open regularly ....the past couple of yrs they removed the log flume to make way for yep you guessed it another coaster ( second hand one at that from one of their other parks that had a rep as a rough ride and still does even with the new theming and water features) the wild mouse that had been there for yrs has been removed for a new attraction which is still pending along with some other rides that were in line with it! ...prob be another rollercoaster sadly! im glad they aint removed the river caves , ghost train or their oldest ride sir hirams maxim flyers nearly 120 yrs old! as of yet and i know they dare not remove the grand national and big dipper as they are beloved wooded roller coasters! ..i know parks have to change and progress ect but some heritage rides need to survive especialy if they are the last in your country or even in existance! ...sorry for the long winded response but heritage rides are a passion for me as so few left in the uk ;)

Finally a Peter Pan ride that’s worth a one hour wait!
The beauty of innocence. Can someone make a Peter Pan ride for me. So impressive, I'd want to go on this ride again again, again. The large screens showing Peter, Tinker Bell and the children flying is amazing. Thanks for the video. ☆☆☆☆☆
This blows every other version of the ride out of the water. The animatronics move fluidly and the use of screens are ingenious.

Look how smooth the boat comes into the load area, nothing like the teeth shattering bump at the end of the ride at Disneyland in California!
wow, this is the first ride i've ever seen where the screens really add something! i feel like they used it to respect the animation of the original film and make you feel like you're really a part of it! this ride is so wonderful, a shame that i'll never get to go on it hahah
What wins this for me is " second star to the right " plays in the nursery and " you can fly " plays outside of it and that should be added into the other ones
It’s interesting how a lot of the music is from the pater pan 2 soundtrack as opposed to the original movie’s soundtrack
that's wat most people think. but in reality the ost of peter pan 2 is also part of part 1! you can hear the peter pan 2 ost slightly in only the opening credits of peter pan 1, that sings 'second star to the right'! However they re-use this track much more in peter pan 2, which is why it's more noticable.

True however the only song from the original film is second star to the right and the beginning to be can fly but I was more surprised that they used the entirety of the instrumental score of the second Peter pan movie as opposed to the first film, which has two different original soundtracks
Henry Livingstone not true, "never smile at a crocodile" was also played in this ride which is a song from the original, not return to neverland
It's a nice mix of both. The sequel might have its problems but it still has a great score.
It's a good mixture of both. It's clever how during the london part we hear the song from the first movie when the kids fly above london, and in the neverland part, we hear the music from the second, when Jane is flying through the island. It makes sense. I think the second movie has such an incredible yet underrated soundtrack.

Love it! Lets remember the original that lead to all of these new revamp and affects. Everyone talks about how better these newer riders are. But the original will always be the best. Something about Disneyland and that nostalgia is far better than the others.

Wow! This is amazing! I love it still has that classic feel but they added some great effects and I like the use of scenes from the movie. Hopefully the parks in the US will update their rides like this one.

This is pretty cool! I like the technology in this one and how much longer it is then at Disney world but I like the one at Disney world because it feels like you're flying through Neverland not around it. And the city scene at Disney world has more buildings and looks more like a city. But I love this version too it's really cool.

The magic kingdom peter pan ride was my favourite when i visited as a kid....but that was back in 2004! to see THIS now....it totally rocks my world!

Man that was awesome....thanks for posting.
It would be cool (and pretty easy to accomplish) if guests were somehow able to choose which language they'd like a ride like this to use, like how you select the language for Spaceship Earth at the beginning of the ride. As with Spaceship Earth, it sounds like most of the audio in this ride is coming from the ride vehicle itself, so having an option to be able to experience this ride in English or any other language doesn't seem too far-fetched in terms of technology at all. This ride looks amazing, but I just feel like it would be even more amazing if I understood what they were saying at times throughout the ride lol. I'm assuming that it probably has a largely-Chinese demographic, so they feel no real need to provide anything else at the moment, but maybe one day Disney rides will give any person the ability to experience any attraction in any language they'd like. It would be a pretty cool feature for a lot of rides.

It really needs to be updated, and revised. It would be well worth it.
Agreed , i was just there and the que area was updated so it makes sense to do it....change the music to the movie soundtracks that we hear in this , water effects and new anamatronics
Omgsh the first scene is my favourite and sent goosebumps down my spine! So nostalgic and magical and I just want to jump off the boat and go into the room on the right side to explore the imaginary house.
This was the last ride the ex-gf and I went on in Shanghai Disneyland when we were there. We had done all the recommended rides of the park from a list, with this being one of them. and As the night was coming to a close, and rides were gradually closing, there we were screaming like crazy through Disneyland's streets and walkways. My feet were literally bleeding from blisters due to my poor decision not to wear socks that summer day, but we made it to the Peter Pan ride the very final ride run. I was in such agony yet laughing at our luck, and the moment I got on that ride, I forgot about the pain and hugged the girl, elated as could be and with a huge grin. It was a memorable experience, pain and all, and I think I roared out "F*** YES!!!!!!" the moment the ride began because it was just us two :D
This is a ride worth waiting for!

Yep; I've been on all 5 of them across the globe and this one is the best, by far!
I only feel the view of London in this one is a bit less. I liked the one in Orlando as it really shortly felt I flew over London. Here it seemed just the iconic buildings and not much more.

Disney World Magic Kingdom should update their Fantasyland dark rides to this standard- install this version of Peter Pan's Flight, restore Mr. Toad to it's original location but updated in the same way as PPF, and some other classic IP in the space where Snow White's Scary Adventures used to be.

Very cool, but not enough pirates, not enough Captain Hook, Smee, no mermaids? Lost boys? IDK, seems like London got all the attention and Neverland got short changed, but still nice.

So this new version is awesome, but there are components I liked from Anaheim. I liked that the boats are smaller (this sucks for families though) and are continuous on/off. I also liked Anaheim’s flying over London better. It felt more like you were actually over London. I also like the original soundtrack over this one.
