    I lost it at the AO3 check. But it really seems like Roland Emmerich really wanted to make Amadeus 2: Revenge of the Upper Class or something, because what in the ahistorical nonsense was this

    This Anti-Stratfordian stuff comes across to me like rich people panicking trying to maintain the illusion that they have all that wealth because they're inherently better than ~the common folk, and Emmerich comes across like a guy desperate to prove that he's successful because he's just that talented and the fact that he comes from money has nothing to do with it
