Birmingham, Alabama pickers, Mountain Grass Unit, is bringing a new face to bluegrass, blending it with country, jazz, funk, rock, and metal without missing a beat. Made up of members Drury Anderson (mandolin, vocals), Luke Black (acoustic guitar, banjo), and Sam Wilson (upright bass), the trio has worked hard to establish a firm foundation in order to take on not only the vocal harmonies of traditional bluegrass tunes, but also the freedom to adapt songs from various genres to an all-acoustic format. Ayyyyyyyyy! These boys are smashing these days. Get out and see them ASAP. Drury has made amazing progress both vocally and instrumentally. He has a distinct and unique voice. Fills my cup every single time. Then you've got Luke Black spraying bullets all over the place. Just relentlessly entertaining. The glue that holds it all together though is Sam Wilson on bass. That man carries the band like a trusty mule. Their vocal harmonies are incredible these days. I am on the bus for the long haul. These guys are going to the moon.
So exciting reading this. I remember seeing them as kids and it was special. They are special. There is something in the water. I'm not gonna share my resume with these guys but I can tell you they will and have been able to blow your f)(*ing face off. nicest kids too.
Love the variety that Audio Tree brings. I like tuning in to hear new and novel bands! And these guys definitely tick that box. It's also good to see young faces in Bluegrass. I'm probably old enough to be these kids dad, and yet they're playing like good old boys! Pickin' and kickin ass! Love to see it!
Really enjoyed their sets at Pickathon in August. Looking forward to watching/listening to them grow.

I got to see them in Pittsburgh, on a Monday night in a club with maybe 30 people. Wish the turn out would have been better but selfishly the show was ❤🎉❤🎉
