    This was a wonderful explanation and demonstration on how to actually create a starter using natural yeast! I'm even happier that she used grapes as her primary source of yeast since my family has had vineyards here in California since 1917. Now I know another way to put the grapes to use! Thanks for teaching us your methods Nancy Silverton. Thanks to the late great Julia Child for her never-ending passion, enthusiasm and trailblazing spirit which continues to inspire others, and thanks to those who continue to share her stories (and theirs too) with the world. ❤️

    Such a difficult concept to show on TV. This must have taken so much preparation to have all these different starters at their different points in their lives.

    "My 'already-activated' yeast"? Is she adding hydrated dry yeast to the starter and flour?
