- Official HD video for Moloko 'Pure Pleasure Seeker'.
Moloko's "Pure Pleasure Seeker" was the second single taken from their third LP "Things To Make And Do" in the year 2000.
It reached number 21 in the UK charts that year. The video parodies the 1970s UK BBC TV show Old Grey Whistle Test and features an introduction from former Radio 1 DJ 'Whispering' Bob Harris.

Lyrics:
Yeah
Gotta get me some
Gotta get me instant gratification
Gimme new kicks
Won't you show me new tricks
Without the ramifications
Give it a try, don't be shy
Well, you know you might like it
Never been too keen a timekeeper
But I'm a pure new pleasure seeker
All the way from Venus
Invading from Mars
Don't let that come between us
It's written in the stars
Save me from fading afraid
The tears of a fool on parade
Quietly turn into stone
Make me flesh and bone
Well come on
Oh, you know that you want it now
Well come on, yeah
You know that you want it and how
Stimulation in body and cell
For the good and misguided
Desperation, I'm under your spell
Misunderstood and derided
Speculation, they kiss and they tell
Misjudged and misquoted
Fell into the abyss
I must have wanted this
Another myth exploded
Take a weight off your mind
Trust the voice of experience
I tell you little white lies
Viva indifference
Stoke up the fire
I'm all you require
They won't set you alight
Come and live your desire
Come make me whole
Body and soul x8
Well come on
Oh, you know that you want it now
Well come on, yeah
You know that you want it and how
Gimme new kicks
I wanna go deeper
Never been too keen a timekeeper
Show me new tricks
You can get me on the beeper
I'm a pure new pleasure seeker
Would be a crime against passion
Not to itch that itch
Oh, don't ask how it happened
This is it
All we have ever wanted
All we will ever need
Nothing can take his place
It's written all over your face
Yeah
You know that you want it now
Come on
Oh, you know that you want it and how
Come on
Yeah you know that you want it now
Come on
Oh, you know that you want it and how
Gimme new kicks
I wanna go deeper
Never been to keen a timekeeper
Show me new tricks
You get me on the beeper
I'm a pure new pleasure seeker
Never been too keen a timekeeper...
Come make me whole
Body and soul
Come on!

She is one of the rare few that didn't need a lick of vocal processing or a bunch of studio takes, every performance sounds just like the album
Roisin has charisma like no other! (And of course a superb voice).
This!!!! So many people don't seem to see or understand this. She is a true "front man." She has more presence and charisma in her little toe than Taylor Swift has in her entire body.
Is this a Roxy Music tribute?
Roisin Murphy is a stone cold fox.
Louise X It’s a parody of Roxy Music’s appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test. Bob Harris had a very low opinion of Roxy Music, hence his speech at the beginning.
@@thomasinamcnaughton7020 Stone Fox Chase is the Old Grey Whistle Test theme ;-)

An absolutely unstoppable juggernaut of a track. It's like being stream rolled by a silk wrapped concrete block. A totally irresistible earworm.
the coolest chic , just the coolest.
Bob Harris's rant at the beginning was aimed at Roxy Music. Neat dubbing
The Sax Man made this song great
She’s dynamite! And the band are so strong. Brilliant.
I freely admit I came here from the Eve mattress ad. I think I will be staying.xx
Same. Forgot the song and band, so shazamed it and went oh god yeah
Me too 🤣🤣
Same lol
me too 🙋🏼♀️😄😄💖
Me to 😁
she truly is the best, isn’t she ? what a lovely performer
Very true, bestie.
Jools Holland said baritone sax was the sexiest sound in rock 'n' roll. He wasn't wrong. Also, who doesn't adore Roisin?
The royalties moloko has made by people typing "sloth advert song"..
Tribute to Roxy Music
Anyone else from the sloth add 😂😂
yes
Well done. You got here. He he. Xx
What a performance. What a great guy on the sax! Cool as F!
The bit at the start with whispering Bob Harris is taken from his introduction to Do the strand by Roxy Music on the OGWT 1973. Love this!
I was too stupid to like them before they split. So never saw them live. Statues is magical.
She's touring this year. Got my ticket for Glasgow. I'll be at the front in my sequinned Biba vest!
Sing it back is a banger
Jezes - this is 2O YEARS OLDS DAMN!!!!!
but the video wants you to think it's 50 yrs old
I freely admit to watching this from start to finish ONCE without actually realising this is the most gorgeous piss take of The Old Grey Whistle Test, Roxy Music and whispering Bob! With any other band it would have been too obvious but Moloko usually push the bounderies of sane so its a little difficult to tell sometimes.
It was obvious to me once I saw the Eno clone playing the ARP 2500.
She looks fukk all like Bryan Ferry
I like the guy doing the synth twiddling has based himself on Brian Eno during his time in Roxy Music
no, like Yello The race
Can’t get the sax line out of my head!!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yello#Musical_style they remind me of them
Sentimental sigh, all those interesting indie bands of the 90s. Makes me crack a 😄 people discovering this song through a mattress ad. Dig deep my friends there's plenty more treasures to be found 😁 and don't forget the 80s ( Talk Talk, The Wonder Stuff). Heck, ads are even using Library Music ( Keith Mansfield - Funky Fanfare) and films 60s Easy Listening ( Summer Wine in Stocker). Open your ears everyone to the good ol' oldies - such interesting musical gems out there!! 😆
P.S Don't forget original film title music from the 60s & 70s eg Roy Budd - Get Carter. Happy listening!
There's _so much_ goodness to savor that finding it all can be daunting for many
without a little reminder. I'm in the states, so I don't even know the commercial, but I always rejoice when a series or advert turns people on to the artists I've loved.
I know I agree, but I guess Mark and Roisin got a massive whack of a payout for an advert 20 years after the song was released. I hope from it people discover Moloko all over again!
it's like Yello The Race the sound is the same
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yello#Musical_style
Like Boney M and Roxy Music...on MDMA.
sloth
I’m here cos of that sloth too🤘🏾🤷🏾♂️
The sloth brought me here 🦥
that sax is sick
Sax plus your fly unremovable really sick!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yello#Musical_style it's like Yello The Race
@@veggie42 yes this is better known than moloko it is user mostly in ads
Все эти стреляния глазами, мимолетные полуулыбки, ретро-костюм и прекрасный голос с разными оттенками - боже, Рошин Мёрфи тут просто олицетворение секса
I’m totally obsessed with this song so many years after it was released 🙂
I heard this in 2000 and have spent the LAST 19 YEARS not knowing what it was called or who it was by. QUE 2019 and some long armed FREAK on a telly advert and my head SHOT up from reading the paper..."THAT's IT" i yell @ an empty room!. the internet did the rest!. Here i am!.
then you have only now discovered the whole music of moloko. how cool is that? and roisin...have fun...
Just shazzam this track from advert, had no idea it was Moloko 😍 sing it back and time is now great tunes!!!
Bob Harris legend. Another underrated group. Far better than today's music. Look they play instruments rather shouting into mikes and boasting about their items. God I feel so old.
Like for dancing sloths
Eve Mattress Advert anyone?
100% because of the evesleep ad what a brilliant back beat
Who else found a mattress because they loved this song? I'm off now to post comments about Moloko in the comments for videos about bedding.
I found Moloko because I loved Batman. (I live in the US.)
Adrian : immer wieder dasselbe Problem mit den weibern
Bitte fährt nach Hause und hört auf zu fleddern
I saw them early out, after the first record, but there was no backing band, it was just the 2 of them and pretty minimal. Murphy came out looking like Toni Tennille, but she was all over the stage and sang up a storm to the small crowd at Bimbo's
Stage Costumes are epic!
Damn this song is timeless ... Cmon you know you want it how
Finally found the song from eve advert.anyone else..
Maljinder Singh Lots of us!xx
fuck off
I loved Moloko back in the day. Recognised it as soon as I seen the ad!
Style and performance is superb. Her voice is gentle but alluring.Nice
Skinny Santa on the sax
Mark looks like he hasn't slept in days...
OMG how hot is Roisin Murphy? Those eyes and that voice!! Love this track
Super cool! Evesleep ad made me want to hear this song as I'd never heard it before. I can't believe it is 19 years old!
Forgot all about this song cool as fook!!!
I know Prince woulda dug this.
I have spent the last 6 hours trying to remember the name of the product sold in the advert, trying those "find song by lyrics" websites, Googling "00s saxophone sampled pop track" and variations of, and getting nowhere.
She has such a unique voice, and I knew it wasn't a one hit wonder, that she had done other stuff, but I just couldn't place her.
Then the advert just came on...and here we are.
Moloko...great band, by the way.
Roisin has such a sexy attitude and the bad hair and dodgy clothes of this "period" throwback video was spot on in encapsulating their groovy funk undercurrent.
By the end of their run they had become an insanely epic live band - m.ruclips.net/video/nuSpXXdg2Ck/видео.html
@@modifiedcontent THANK you! I'd not seen that before, and you're right. Epic!
watching this good dirty frankenstein funk in 2019
God I still love their stuff
Roxy Moloko
The whole scene is an optical Roxy Music video clone
Mark Brydon, if you read this please continue to create.
"vive indifference"
The dance version of this is absolutely bangin
Eve mattress bought me here
Me to lol
20 years ago: first watched this on MTV2.
20 years later: a dancing sloth brought me here.
admit it who else jumps on the bed and does the arm thing to this?😁
Still just about the coolest band ever to have strutted their stuff!
So funky and fused with a hint of glam and early disco.....roisons vocal performance is exceptionally soulful ...love the costume ..a real throwback to the 70's DISCO EXPLOSION,brings back memories of Ami Stewart ,Anita ward and Rose Royce and so many other artists of that groundbreaking era!!!
More like Yello
I see Roxy Music here in this video,
Who played drums on this? Rock solid playing 👌excellent
A nod to Roxy Music imagery.
I saw that too !
I can see that for this song in particular, then again all music are interconnected, particularly the avalanche of popular music since the mid 1950s. A case in point is Bob Dylan who started of like a Woody Guthrie troubadour. Back to the song Roisin Murphy has a very unusual and distinctive singing voice very well suited to that type of funky pop, and she is an excellent songwriter.
More like Genesis and Peter Gabriel.
It sounds like yello
My favourite Moloko track.
I'm here because I did a really bad search for an advert and then kicked myself I didn't know it was Moloko even tho I owned one of their albums.
What a frontwoman
I would choose rachy baby over her Alllllll day long
they have got a Dr Feelgood guitarist , only kidding but he has a bit of the attitude of Wilko Johnson,
Moloko🎉
Didn’t buy a Eve mattress, but do enjoy this song 😁👍
Whispering Bob. Who back in the day secretly had this on in the bedroom late at night with school the next morning? Iconic television.
Jazz. Nice.
101 people were shy and didn't give it a try
There are clearly too many people still watching too much TV.
At that time, Dexter Morgan was a music host and his consciously chosen hairstyle evokes the golden age of rock music.
Come on! Let's go Space truckin'
her voice is made of pure gold, i love her!
This would be a legendary record if it wasn't a COMPLETE rip off of Prince's "Girls + Boys". This record lost my faith in Moloko.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yello#Musical_style I thought that
I listen to this song and watch the video at least once a month. Puts me on another level. I love them so much for it. My favourite song and video by them for sure.

Not Reloaded but the Original
Considering OGWT stopped 1st Jan 1988 at 0300, this is fab piss take, or homage. Make your own mind up
Walking along the prom off thesaloniki in Greece I heard that sax sat down ,I bhought the album and I'm still banging it to death ,
Love her voice, so reminds me of Dusty Springfield, ☮️❤️😊
and Yello The Race bassline
Rediscovering this band. Clever video. Could be my favourite track so far.
Todd Edwards did a great job on the remix of this..!

What an outfit, she looks like something Erté would draw. lovely..
Great 'piss take' video. Moloko knows no bounds.

Interesting beat. THE scene is something.. Let's call it strange. But it has a good vibe.
Oh, no!!

Best Brian Eno / Roxy Music / Phil Manzanera parody video ever! It's really funny
I wonder how many people actually got that though.
