Ironic how Livia doesn’t like that there’s a nursing unit in Green Grove but when Tony passes out the first thing she calls for is a doctor. The only reason she can call for a doctor is bc they have a nursing unit. Brilliant writing!
She wasn't really calling for a doctor out of concern for Tony; she did only so because that is the expected reaction that everyone around her expects her to have (she's feigning emotions); she doesn't like the fact the green grove has a nursing unit because it confirms that her suspicions about the place was true. It is indeed a nursing home and "retirement community" is really just a euphemism for nursing home using soft language.

You missed the best part, in the later seasons, 6 I believe, he’s talking about his mother with Melfi and she talks to him about her trying to have him killed and he goes « I pushed her to the edge » and Melfi goes « By putting her in a lovely retirement community? » and he yells « IT’S A NURSING HOME » I always laugh so hard at that, after all the times he corrected everybody by saying it’s a retirement community 😂😂😂

The writers could not seem to remember what Green Grove cost. One episode it's $4K a month, another episode it's $8k. Marone!
Honestly, the performance of Livia could be the best of the entire show.
